Classes at IESE employ the Harvard-originated case study method, which bases learning on actual management situations. Students and professors analyze and discuss hundreds of cases to devise and implement solutions to real business scenarios.

Entrepreneurship is a key element within the MBA program. A hallmark of the program is the second-year entrepreneurship course, in which students develop business plans and are eligible to present them to actual investors in order to receive seed money.

IESE is a great school and deserves more recognition.  They are making a push not only in Europe, but all over the world.  Which is how business is conducted now, globally, and how business education should be taught.

I think IESE is a top notch program with amazing career services. With a notable exception of Goldman Sachs, almost everyone recruits there. From McKinsey to Morgan Stanley to Google/Facebook to BMW and many many more. And it shows in the compensation. IESE MBAs have some of the highest starting salaries in the world. The Harvard style case method isn’t too shabby either. Behind Harvard, IESE is the second most prolific business case producing school in the world and definitely a research leader in Europe. Barcelona is a great place to spend two years of your life. Only complaint I have heard from my friends at IESE is that the program is so intense that sometimes they have to choose whether to prepare the classes or prepare for the interview the next day.

The ONLY reasons IESE isn’t mentioned in the same breath as LBS and INSEAD are the small class size and slightly lower gmat scores. I’ll give up 20-30 points in GMAT score in return for a class of diverse peers whose list of accomplishments are incredible.
