Description: Mirkin’s course emphasizes a unique approach to data analysis, emphasizing the structure of and relationships between data. In this approach, the data comes first, before a problem and solution have even been identified. This course begins with basic data visualization and analysis, before moving into two dimensional data, histograms, decision trees, multivariate correlations, and K-means. The course will be taught through a textbook, readings, and 10-15 minute videos with embedded questions. Students must also perform analysis using real world datasets and complete a final exam.
