Not too many 32-year-olds—in academia or otherwise—can say they’ve worked in the White House as an adviser to a presidential administration, but Aaron Chatterji can say just that. The strategy professor is currently on leave from Duke’s Fuqua School of Business serving as a senior economist on President Obama’s Council of Economic Advisers (CEA). Chatterji’s work investigates some of the driving factors shaping today’s global economy: entrepreneurship, innovation, and the expanding social mission of business. As a member of the CEA, Ronnie, as he is called, focuses on entrepreneurship, small business and innovation policy. He is especially interested in the fluid boundaries between government and business, and how public policies interact with the activities of responsible companies, social entrepreneurs, and creative customers.
