Vault.com, publisher of employer rankings, today (March 10) came out with a series of Top Ten ratings on companies with the best internship experiences. Though the various rankings apply to both undergraduate and graduate students, many prominent MBA recruiters are on the lists, ranging from Boston Consulting Group and Deloitte to Goldman Sachs and J.P. Morgan’s Investment Bank. The best company internships are chosen by Vault’s editors on the basis of mentorship availability, career advancement opportunities, intern involvement/capacity for learning, compensation, perks, industry clout and work culture.

The best overall places to do an internship according to Vault? Major MBA recruiters on that top ten list include the Boston Consulting Group, Google, Deloitte LP, and J.P. Morgan’s Investment Bank. The list of best overall internships is rounded out by Capital Fellows Programs, Garmin International, NASA, Nickelodeon Animation Studios, Northwestern Mutual Financial Network, and the Smithsonian Institution.

In finance internships, Vault says the best companies are Credit Suisse Group, Deutsche Bank, Goldman Sachs & Co., J.P. Morgan’s Investment Bank, KPMG, Lazard, Northwestern Mutual Financial Network, PricewaterhouseCoopers, and UBS Investment Bank. The list also includes AT&T’s Leadership Development Program.

Several major MBA hirers end up on several of Vault’s lists. Goldman Sachs, for example, is on both the Top 10 Best Perks list along with being among one of the best places to intern in finance. J.P. Morgan not only won in the overall and finance categories. It also was among the top ten for perks as well. Other Best Perk winners include Dell, Domino’s Pizza, Garmin International, Google, KPMG, Oracle, the Tribeca Film Center, and Whirlpool Corp.

For the first time, Vault also named a top ten in non-profit organizations. The winner: Advocates for Children of New York, Camphill Soltane, Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, Farm Sanctuary, Food for the Hungry, Hudson Institute, Mother Jones, National Women’s Health Network, Sierra Club, and Teen Voices.
