Sridhar Balasubramanian, or Dr. B as he is commonly known, is associate dean of the Kenan-Flagler Business School and a university appointed distinguished scholar and professor of marketing. Dr. B, as he is called, pursues research interests that are wide-ranging; touching on the areas of marketing strategy, customer focus, innovation, growth strategy, and the management of competition. His specialty lies in merging tools and concepts of market-focus and customer-focus with other functional business areas such as human resource management. More than anything, Professor Balasubramanian is an all-star teacher. He has been designated an MBA Master Teacher, has been honored for excellence in PhD teaching, and he received a similar award for outstanding dedication in Kenan-Flagler’s MBA core. At the Executive MBA level, he was the recipient of the Best Teacher award four times.
