Boston Strong: New MBA Recovering from Boston Bombing

This was supposed to be the biggest year of Brittany Loring’s life. Graduating from Boston College with both an MBA and a law degree, Loring was planning to marry on September 21st and start a job with PricewaterhouseCoopers in October.

On April 15 (Loring’s birthday, no less), she nearly lost everything. Walking along Boylston Street to meet a friend at the finish line, Loring was knocked down by a blast. She was taken to Boston Medical Center, where she had multiple surgeries for a skull fracture and two leg wounds. Although Loring is back home after three weeks in the hospital, she faces a long rehabilitation.

Despite this setback, Loring still plans to take the bar exam over the summer and continue with her plans. In addition, donors have given nearly $90,000 to help Loring pay for her medical expenses. According to Loring, “I’m not going to say I never think about it, but it’s not productive. It’s not helping me get better…my focus isn’t on what happened, it’s on moving forward.”

Donations to Brittany Loring’s recovery can be made in her name at giveforward.com.
