Kellogg Extends Round 2 Deadline

Kellogg1The chilly freeze that has descended on the midwest has not only slowed life down these past few days. It also has slowed down MBA admissions.

After some candidates fell into a panic when Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management wouldn’t accept their applications, the school today (Jan. 7) extended its Round 2 deadline by two days to Jan. 9th at 5 p.m. CST from an original deadline of Jan. 7.

A Kellogg spokesperson told Poets&Quants that the school was closed yesterday and today “because of the dangerously cold weather. An email has gone out to applicants, letting them know about the extended deadline.”

The spokesperson said an earlier technical issue with Kellogg’s new video requirement was fixed, though some applicants may still be having “Internet connectivity issues” due to firewalls. “There is no glitch right now. There may be connectivity issues based on a firewall. If we can’t mitigate the issue, we would waive the requirement.” But not before working with the applicant to see if there is a way around the problem, the spokesperson added.

The new email response to applicants follows:

“Due to extreme weather conditions the Office of Admission will remain closed until the morning of January 8, 2014.  Given these unforeseen circumstances, we will be extending the Round II application deadline until Thursday, January 9, 2014 at 5:00 PM CST.  For any technical issues with your Round 2 application for admission, please e-mail mbaadmissions@kellogg.northwestern.edu. If an unresolved technical issue is identified as preventing the completion of your application by the deadline, this will not impact the evaluation of your candidacy.”
