Recalling your own experience, what advice do you have for applicants who are preparing for either the GMAT or the GRE? I participated in a GMAT class by an educational service provider. It proved useful in getting to know the test format and answering tactics. I would recommend doing as much exercises as possible especially increase your reading speed and actively seeking test information on websites such as ChaseDream.

Based on your own selection process, what advice do you have for applicants who are trying to draw up a list of target schools to which to apply? Each school can provide you with a good career transition, but it would be useful to have a couple of career options in mind such as which industry, which function, and which location you would want to pursue after graduation and match schools to your needs.

What advice do you have for applicants in actually applying to a school, writing essays, doing admission interviews, and getting recommenders to write letters on your behalf? I would recommend getting in touch more with current students, alumni or admissions officers to talk about your career aspirations and your questions regarding the MBA program. This has been very useful to me as it provided me with knowledge from people who have been-there-done-that, along with inside information about the programs. It actually gives you advantage in the interview process to mention a few names that the interviewer might know.

What led you to choose this program for your full-time MBA? For me, I wanted to pursue a career in China after graduation and wanted to build my local network with classmates coming from a great variety of industries and functions and know people with a down-to-earth and can-do attitude. I also wanted to explore potential data service entrepreneurship opportunities in the Chinese market which has huge potential growth. CEIBS MBA program offers all these and also with a twist of great international exposure such as global exchange programs and overseas electives. So I see it as a best fit for me.

What would you ultimately like to achieve before you graduate? I come from a somewhat technical background and needed business-related knowledge to make a career transition to take on more business-related responsibilities. The first ultimate goal is to try out some entrepreneurship ideas with the new knowledge and network acquired in school and see if I can make an impact. I had great expectations of the program before joining and was extremely glad that all of them are fulfilled while some even reached beyond. I feel that the CEIBS program is truly a life-changing event and am passionate about spreading this opportunity around and making others take the initiative to change their lives. So the second ultimate goal is to influence someone to take this leap of change and become and CEIBSer!
