Circling The Black Hole

“It’s been 47 days.” The man marks off another day he spent on this island. Food and drinking water are running out. He doesn’t know how long the supplies can last. Hope is the only thing that’s keeping the man from going insane. Or is it actually driving the man insane?

Their admissions practice is making me seriously question their understanding and teaching of business. I am honestly so close to just withdraw because of their poor/vague/lack of communication, horrible marketing scheme, poor handling of technology, and lack of common sense that it has lost the luster that the “MIT” brand once gave. Easily the worst admissions process of top 15 schools by a huge margin. Congrats MIT.

There once was a fabulous b-school, Twas know for being so cool, I want to go there, If not all ill despair, Cause the GSB just makes me drool!

Just wakin up in the mornin gotta thank God I don’t know but today seems kinda odd No barkin from the dog, no smog And Bolton’s makin’ me wait soooo long

They say that time’s supposed to heal ya, But I ain’t done much healing…ding?

Is It Hope – Or Just Living In Denial?

Hello GSB, it’s me – I was wondering if after all these weeks – You’d like to meet

Rejected the same as everyone else. There’s a phrase that stuck out though in the rejection letter: “while we were suitably impressed by your accomplishments thus far…” Did everyone else’s letter say this? Coming from a literary background, it’s my habit to analyze every inch of a rejection letter for hints that they didn’t hate you.

I put my favorite word as “ding”, because I love how it sounds and I’m troubled by how it feels. That juxtaposition gives it a certain allure for me. Can’t you see GSB, I’m a weirdo and a poet, just what you’re looking for.

One Candidate Goes Completely Unhinged

Anonymous: So Stanford GSB waited for the last day to send women rejections as a present for Women’s day!! no wonder they have so few women enrolled. They are either utter idiots or just a bunch of robots who have absolutely zero social skills. no love lost there! (Editor’s Note: “Women’s day refers to International Women’s Day (March 8), which the writer describes as “a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity.”

Anonymous: so Lol, I never complained about anything – I just pointed out that Stanford sent a rejection letter out on the International Women’s Day! which at the very least, it shows a lack of social and people skills. One has to wonder, what kind of management skills are they teaching people at GSB?

Lol: You’re complaining about bias against woman? Well then, I guess you must not know what it’s like to apply as an Indian IT male or Chinese finance male.

Anonymous: you lol have been misled by some comments here (Stanford reps? they never denied it) trying to muddle the waters here.. I am not really ‘complaining’ about anything. we in USA have the right to free speech – although as you can see, some people don’t really like that.. if you guys feel you are discriminated against, I think you should express your feelings. $250 is a lot of money and I think you are entitled to full disclosure. If they have additional selection criteria I think they should disclose it.

Also dinged: I was dinged from Stanford in R1 and waiting for the results from other schools. But, I really hope not to meet this stupid woman as a classmate. I agree that most women are still at disadvantage around the world. But Stanford GSB is accepting women which amount to 40% – they are not blocking women from entering B school, but just blocking stupid student like you. Do you think Stanford should keep all the rejection notice for women to Tomorrow? So silly.

Anonymous: and the real ‘problem with our society’ is that way too many men like you are trying to shut women up when they point to injustice! too many men like you call 40% parity. too many men like you are willing and ready to insult women any chance they got! too many men like you forget they have a ‘mother’ once they feel that bulge in their pants! I can keep going – don’t get me started with the ‘problem with our society’ because you are not capable of taking it.
