CentreCourt Live In San Francisco: Deans Defend Value Of An MBA Degree

Is the MBA as valuable as it once was? Is the staggering cost of the investment in the degree worth it? How are leading business schools teaching business today? And what is the future of management education?

Business school deans from some of the world’s best business schools answered those questions and more at the CentreCourt MBA Festival in San Francisco on June 24th. In a panel discussion moderated by Poets&Quants Founder John A. Byrne, deans from five of the most selective schools in the world talked up the value of the degree and how they are pioneering new and innovative ideas in business education.

On the panel were Rich Lyons, dean of UC-Berkeley’s Haas School of Business, Matt Slaughter, dean of Dartmouth College’s Tuck School of Business, Scott DeRue, dean of the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business, Rohit Verma, dean of external relations at the Cornell Johnson College of Business, and Doug Slaughter, dean of UNC’s Kenan-Flagler Business School.
