In 2015 I founded a company called Financial Watchers Inc., a non-profit organization with the idea of developing solutions to help tackle the student debt crisis. I helped improve the financial planning and accuracy of my team, increasing the transparency of financial reports and simplifying data driven quantitative analysis with qualitative commentaries to help drive business performance improvements. Why did you choose this school’s online MBA program? The reputation and flexibility of the program. What was your favorite part of being in an online MBA program? The program’s integration of structured online courses, current world business development examples, and the opportunity to gain international experiential business tours gave me a broad context for business learning and application. What was the most surprising thing about an online learning environment? Online programs facilitated by knowledgeable and engaging instructors is similar to the in classroom experience, but has more flexibility. How did your online experience compare with your in-the-classroom experience as an undergraduate student? The challenge and complexity of the learning content is identical. However, as a Masters level student, I feel more comfortable in this environment because success in an online environment is much more driven by the students’ ability to effectively manage their time and drive their own participation. What is your best piece of advice to an applicant for thriving in an online MBA program? You get out of the program what you are willing to put into it. Be willing to embrace the learning opportunity and reach out to colleagues, and professors if you have any constraint because the MBA environment facilitates learning for business professionals. How has your online education helped you in your current job? The online education has been highly beneficial in my current job, because of its relevance to my industry. If you had to do it all over again, would you? Why? Yes I would, primarily because of the relevant coursework learning that I have been able to apply in my current role and the relationship with colleagues and professors that I have been able to establish through the program. What is your ultimate long-term professional goal? My ultimate goal is to serve in a leading Chief Financial Officer position.
