Sandy Tells An Accountant How To Become A Consultant

https://youtu.be/hL4eHRrRLto.

He’s a 26-year-old financial analyst who works for Thomson Reuters and he wants to get an MBA to transition into management consulting. His target schools: Northwestern Kellogg, Duke Fuqua, Michigan Ross, and Cornell Johnson. What are his chances?

HBSGuru Sandy Kreisberg assesses his shot at getting into those MBA programs with a 720 GMAT score and a 3.65 undergraduate grade point average from a state school in Minnesota. Matthew brings three years of public accounting experience in tax with a top 20 sized firm, along with a year of experience working for a small management consulting firm in Singapore. He has been working for nearly a year as a senior financial analyst at Thomson Reuters.

Matthew has some great extras as well. He was captain of the university tennis team, on the business student executive council and the student-athlete advisory committee. In this Friday with Sandy episode, Kreisberg offers valuable advice to tilt the odds in his favor.
