Handicapping Your MBA Odds: When Docs Want To Get An MBA

Steven is no ordinary doctor. He’s a senior resident in pediatric surgery in Australia who wants an MBA degree. With a 710 GMAT score and three years as a doctor, he wants to learn the business basics so that he can land a management job in the health care field.

He also has more than ten years of experience in leaderships roles in the Special Needs Community in Sydney running and growing social inclusion programs.

With his background in social policy and medicine, he is hoping to  leverage business knowledge so he can play an important role as a healthcare leader in Australia. Steven’s goal is  to develop efficient public-private partnerships within healthcare and other sectors, to bring about efficient solutions to community-based healthcare.

In this episode of Friday’s With Sandy, HBSGuru.com Founder Sandy Kreisberg assesses his odds of getting in all of his target schools: Harvard, Stanford, MIT Sloan, Yale School of Management, and London Business School.

Hint: His odds are pretty good.

As promised in the video, here is the article about docs going to B school we talked about.
