MBA Handicapping: A 770 GMAT & A 4.0 From LSE -- What Else Do You Need For 2+2

The question for Harvey is not what he needs to gain acceptance from either Harvard Business School or Stanford’s Graduate School of Business in their deferred admission programs. The question is how can he screw it up?

Talk about a perfect candidate: Harvey is a Brit, with a jumbo 770 GMAT (40 points above Harvard’s class median score), a perfect 4.0 in economics from the London School of Economics. And he has racked up a portfolio of stellar extracurriculars, including a stint as president of the Save the Children chapter on LSE’s campus. Harvey also is an ex-English Junior National Ice Hockey Team member who competed on the international stage. When he graduates from LSE later this year, he already has a plum job with Evercore, the prestigious global investment banking advisory.

If he doesn’t gain admission to HBS’ 2+2 program or the deferred MBA options at Stanford, Wharton and Columbia–all of which are on his target list–it won’t be because of those very impressive facts.
