Aside from your classmates, what was the key part of IIM Bangalore’s MBA programming that led you to choose this business school and why was it so important to you? The program offered various courses which were aligned with my career objectives. My friends, who were themselves students here, often spoke about the nation’s best professors and I always wondered what it would be like to share a classroom with them. So here I am!!! Plus, IIMB is the place to e! Who wouldn’t want to study here!

What has been your favorite course or extracurricular activity at IIM Bangalore? What has been the most important lesson that you have learned from it? My Favorite course is Macroeconomics. The way Prof Subramanium taught the subject was just wow. It was like listening to a mesmerizing story. Now when I see a news on economics, I can actually understand it!

Describe your biggest accomplishment in your career so far: One year after joining HPCL, I was entrusted with a large-scale critical capacity enhancement project. I was the youngest engineer and the first female operations employee to deliver the project incident free. I was awarded outstanding achiever award for the same.

Describe your biggest accomplishment as an MBA student so far: We were among the top 3 groups in the institute to participate in the EMI Cornell case competition.

What is your class’s favorite hangout away from school? Why do you gather there? I love the campus. It has been 6 months, but every time I step in I am in awe of the stone walls. I am the first to arrive and the last to leave. My hangout place is the Campus either at Discussion rooms or Amul store or Haneena.

What led you to pursue an MBA at this point and what do you hope to do after graduation? Being in operations, my vision was always limited to a 3-months or 6-month time period and was bound to a part of a business unit. I was working on a project in HPCL, where I was exposed to the business side of the industry. I was intrigued by the kind of decisions the management took and the rationale behind it. I wanted to explore more and learn more. And thus, I decided to pursue MBA.

What advice would you give to help potential applicants gain admission into IIM Bangalore? I suggest they find the right reason to pursue an MBA. They need to self-introspect and think really hard about the “WHY” part before starting this journey. This is something very important but is often ignored by a majority. Find the answer to “WHY” and the rest would fall in place.
