Continually taking new opportunities and challenging myself by moving into new areas of the business, leading to becoming a director of digital commerce in GSK CH (now Haleon) global team where I had the opportunity to work globally across all markets and support the shaping of the strategy and direction of digital commerce. When you think of your school, what is the first word that comes to mind? Community. You build strong and lasting relationships with the rest of the cohort across the globe, learn from each other and grow together. What are one or two key aspects of this program that led you to choose the program, and why were they so important to you? One of the main reasons I chose this MBA was the fact it was a global MBA and working in a global role I wanted to continue to build experiences, learnings and networks across a global cohort. In addition, the focus on data to drive decision making which is fundamental in my career within CPG and digital. Finally, the fact that although the course was virtual there was a heavy focus on live classes to ensure a strong learning experience and relationship building. What course, club, activity, or experience excites you the most and why? The immersions that UCL runs where we get an opportunity to learn more about key themes and connect with our peers face to face. What is one thing you have recently read, watched, or listened to that you would highly recommend to other prospective MBAs? Never split the difference – Chris Voss. Great read for negotiation skills in real world examples, strategic thinking and psychological insights, all packaged up from the lens of a former hostage negotiator and super relevant for day-to-day life. What are two things you have learned that have surprised you so far – one academic and one non-academic? From a non-academic perspective it has been the relevance of all the modules to my everyday life – from leadership, to negotiation to communication and emotional intelligence and also the power of networking and relationships. From an academic perspective it has been the variety of experiences across industries shared by the cohort which has really challenged and enhanced my thinking having only worked in two organizations within the CPG industry. What advice would you give to help potential applicants gain admission into your MBA program? Ensure you think about how this specific MBA will help you further your career and what unique skills/mindsets/insights you have that will add value to the MBA program and the cohorts ongoing.
