Jehan Hamedi Named An AACSB Influential Leader

Jehan Hamedi, CEO and founder of Vizit and a Questrom graduate, was named to the AACSB Class of 2025 Influential Leaders in January. The recognition is part of an annual initiative by AACSB International that highlights alumni from accredited business schools making an impact in their fields.

Hamedi’s company, Vizit, applies artificial intelligence to visual content analysis, helping brands assess and optimize how their imagery performs with consumers. The company’s tools are used in marketing and advertising to improve visual effectiveness and consumer engagement. Hamedi’s selection reflects the growing influence of AI in business strategy and consumer-facing technology.

 

 

Gerry Tsoukalas Included in Thinkers50 Radar List

Also in January, Questrom professor Gerry Tsoukalas was named to the Thinkers50 Radar Class of 2025. The annual list features 30 early-stage management thinkers from around the world who are expected to shape the future of business thinking.

Tsoukalas, whose research focuses on operations management and analytics, explores how technology and data-driven decision-making affect business performance. His work combines mathematical modeling with real-world applications in areas like supply chains and innovation strategy. Several Questrom faculty members have appeared on past Radar lists, including Nina Mazar, Paul Carlile, Andrei Hagiu, and Connie Hadley.

 

 

 

Kate Barrand Receives BU Distinguished Alumni Award

Kate Barrand, a 1985 Questrom alumna, received Boston University’s Distinguished Alumni Award in October of last year. Barrand is President and CEO of Horizons for Homeless Children, a nonprofit that supports families facing homelessness through early education and family services.

Under her leadership, the organization has expanded its reach, offering programs that combine educational support with broader social services. The award recognizes Barrand’s work in addressing issues of child poverty and homelessness and highlights the role that business leaders can play in the nonprofit sector.
