Undergraduate School and Major: Harvard University, Sociology Most Recent Employer and Job Title: Netflix, Content Strategy Manager Aside from your classmates, what was the key part of Stanford GSB’s MBA programming that led you to choose this business school and why was it so important to you? The emphasis GSB places on the art of leadership was a major reason why I was attracted to this MBA program. With aspirations to have a career in a creative industry, I was drawn to the opportunity to strengthen both my emotional intelligence and core business skills. Required courses like Leadership Labs and programs like Arbuckle Leadership Fellows stood out as potentially transformative experiences. These initiatives assured me that I would leave better equipped to make a meaningful impact on my teams and workplaces. What has been the most important thing that you’ve learned at Stanford GSB so far? GSB has taught me to expand my sense of what’s possible. Being surrounded by classmates with diverse passions and ambitions has opened my eyes to unexpected career paths and opportunities. This exposure has not only broadened my aspirations but also empowered me to approach decision-making with greater boldness and confidence. What course, club or activity have you enjoyed the most so far at Stanford GSB? The Black Business Student Association (BBSA) has been a highlight of my experience at the GSB. BBSA has provided me with a strong sense of community and support, offering a home base amidst fast-paced MBA life. Highlights so far have included an all-day identity retreat, a Thanksgiving potluck, and a trip to Houston to connect with BBSA organizations from other MBA programs. I’ve also deeply valued the camaraderie BBSA has fostered with second-year MBA students through mentorship matches and social events. What quality best describes your MBA classmates you’ve met so far? Give an example why this is true. Humble is the first quality that comes to mind. I’ve built genuine relationships with peers, only to later discover they are near Olympic athletes or professional chefs. There are a lot of hidden talents and accomplishments on this campus, but authenticity and meaningful connections are prioritized. Describe your biggest accomplishment in your career so far: At Netflix, I played a key role in redefining the kids TV strategy and developing a more accurate way to measure kids content performance. It was a privilege working with such a talented cross-functional team on an approach that will influence how young viewers engage with content across the globe. Describe your biggest accomplishment as an MBA student so far? My biggest accomplishment has been being selected as a member of the View From The Top leadership team. VFTT brings some of today’s most influential leaders to campus to share their stories and insights. Highlights from this year have included Roelof Botha, Managing Partner at Sequoia Capital, discussing moments where he “bet on himself” and Darren Walker, President of the Ford Foundation, candidly reflecting on the best advice he’s ever received. These events leave me feeling inspired to stand in my purpose and pursue my goals. I am excited to help continue this impact in the year ahead. What has been your best memory as an MBA so far? On Campus: Supporting a friend during his TALK, a cherished GSB tradition. A group of us made shirts and posters to show up in full force as he shared a deeply personal story with the entire class. It was incredible to witness the community come together to celebrate his bravery and vulnerability—something that makes every TALK so special. Off Campus: Dancing on Bourbon Street with classmates in New Orleans! What advice would you give to a prospective applicant looking to join the Stanford GSB Class of 2026? Don’t try to fit into a perceived mold of what you think your application “should be.” Be authentically you and write about the things that touch your soul!
