In a typical year, Harvard Business School enrolls about seven MBA students from Mexico. For Jose, the challenge will be how to become one of the chosen ones.
While he has yet to sit for the GMAT exam, he bring a 3.5 GPA from Anahuac University in Mexico to the game along with fives year of work experience leading product development in Mexico, Brasil and Switzerland. Jose has worked as the third employee of a high growth software startup, a product manager for a fintech copany and a senior product manager for a firm developing the next wave of digital payment methods.
He describes himself as a “joyful entrepreneur, passionate problem solver, and a tech enthusiast. Through the passing of the years, I have had the fortune of traveling to different parts of the world, giving me a creative and international vision of how geography, business, and culture must merge into an innovative way to develop new digital products and services for the benefit of our way of living.”
He wants to use the MBA program as an incubator to found a startup to disrupt the financial and remittances market across the Americas. Jose is applying to Harvard, Stanford, MIT Sloan, Babson, and London Business School.
In this episode of Friday’s With Sandy, HBSGuru.com Founder Sandy Kreisberg assesses Jose’s chances.
