“Be yourself in the application process,” advises Peter Johnson, assistant dean of the MBA program and admissions at the Haas School of Business.  “That may sound a little trite but one of the things that helps an applicant stand out to the admissions committee is someone who really truly knows who they are and what they want to become and they are able to express that in a way that resonates with other people. I actually think that is the hardest part of the application process. Obviously, you want to have solid quant scores so that you won’t struggle in the core curriculum.  You want to show that you have professional experience so you have experiences you can share with classmates and the learning you get from the program will be more relevant. But being able to be your authentic self in this process will really help your application stand out.”
