Average GMAT Scores At The Top 50 B-Schools

Boston College’s Carroll School of Management saw a 30-point drop in the average GMAT score of its incoming MBA classes between 2016 and 2017. But Carroll arrested the fall and stayed even, at 637, between 2017 and 2018. CSOM photo

In the bottom 25, 15 schools had positive five-year GMAT trends, with an average gain of 8.9 points. Notable increases came at Georgia Terry (19 points) and Purdue Krannert (16 points). Among the 10 schools with declines, the average drop was 12 points — a number skewed by four schools’ huge losses: 15 points at Notre Dame Mendoza, 18 points at Rochester Simon, 22 points at Maryland Smith, and a whopping 30 points at Boston Carroll.

Looking at the two-year trend for the lower 25, Georgia Terry jumped 17 points, Pittsburgh Katz climbed 13 points, and Arizona State Carey saw a 12-point rise.
