Description:Ā UPS is famous for the slogan, ā€œI love logistics.ā€ It certainly puts a friendly face on a complex chain. Indeed, logistics is a process that involves scheduling, moving, tracking, and replenishing, with the goal of streamlining steps, speeding movement, cutting costs, and satisfying stakeholders. It isnā€™t hard to design a operational system on paper. Getting the pieces together successively is the tricky part. The degree of difficulty has only been amplified and accelerated by technology, whose systems must interact in harmony with all other steps in the process.

In this course, Caplice will focus on three areas: technology fundamentals, core logistics systems, and data analysis. Over 11 weeks, students will review ā€œproject management and software processes, data modeling, UML, relational databases and SQL.ā€ In addition, the course will cover internet technologies like ā€œXML, web services, and service-oriented architecturesā€ and supply chain systems like ā€œERP, WMS, and TMSā€ ā€” with an emphasis on how they work and where theyā€™re used.

Review:Ā No reviews.
