Description:Ā Entrepreneurship has exploded in China. According to Forbes, revenues at state-run enterprises have grown six fold since 2000. In that same period, non-state companies growth jumped 18 fold. Indeed, entrepreneurship has become increasingly embedded in Chinaā€™s DNA, with innovators like Alibabaā€™s Jack Ma leading the way. What is driving this growth? How have Chinese institutions and culture nurtured this explosion? Even more, what is the Chinese take on innovation and entrepreneurship and how does it differ from the Western world? Along with answering these questions, students will examine entrepreneurship from the Chinese perspective using a four step PIPE model (problem, idea, product, and enterprise).
