EXPECTS TO IMPROVE QUALITY OF TEACHING IN BOTH CONTENT AND DELIVERY NEXT YEAR

On the other hand, Forbes’ biennial ranking, which he noted has IMD first among international schools in return on investment in 2013 and 2011, picks up the value of the IMD degree, he said.

Boscheck also said the school has gone back to its traditional seven-week international consulting project which focuses on team performance. IMD also has broken the class into three groups of 30 each, sending each group to a different part of the world for a discovery trip. This past year, students went to New York and Washington, D.C., Sao Paulo and Rio, as well as Singapore and Kuala Lumpur. Each group looked at the public policy challenges confronting those locations and then presented to alumni on the competitiveness of each region. “We are reconsidering other locales but it has been a stellar success,” he said.

Over the next year, Boscheck said he intends to use some benchmarking work done last year of other schools to strengthen the MBA program. “We found a number of opportunities for improvement,” he said, specifically noting that he would like to improve the quality of teaching at IMD in both delivery and content.
