The New Faculty Faces At The Top Business Schools

The Yale School of Management hired six new professors with a combined 27 years of experience. Of course hiring Gal Zauberman from Pennsylvania’s Wharton might have been the most impressive hire this academic year. Yale was also able to hire Balazs Kovacs from the University of Lugano, Switzerland, where he’d spent the past six years after earning his PhD from Stanford’s GSB.

Virginia’s Darden hired four new professors with a combined 16 years of experience. All of those years come from Manel Baucells who had previously been a visiting associate professor at UCLA’s Anderson, where he also earned his PhD. Technically, IESE had been his home for more than a decade but Baucells has also spent time as a visiting professor at MIT Sloan, Duke Fuqua, and London Business School, among others.

UCLA’s Anderson hired eight new faculty members with a total of 36 years of teaching experience. Judson Caskey, who’s spent time previously at Anderson brings the most experience with 10 years. Jennifer Whitson and Stanford De Voe both bring eight years of experience. Another big snag for Anderson was Cassie Mogilner, a Stanford GSB PhD and tenured professor of marketing at The Wharton School. Mogilner’s research of happiness has beenĀ featured in nearly every major media outlet.
