The New Faculty Faces At The Top Business Schools

Carnegie Mellon’s Tepper hired five new professors with a combined 12 years of experience. The big hire for Tepper was Kathryn Barraclough, who left Vanderbilt’s Owen Graduate School of Management. Barraclough directed the MS in finance program at Owen and will be the Distinguished Service Professor of Finance and head of the MBA program at Tepper.

North Carolina’s Kenan-Flagler Business School hired four new faculty members with a combined 23 years of experience. Namely, the school hired Stephen Arbogast as its Professor of the Practice of Finance. Arbogast has nearly two decades of teaching experience, mainly at the University of Houston’s C.T. Bauer College of Business. He also spent three decades at Exxon Mobile worked up the ranks to being the company’s treasurer for nearly a decade. Kenan-Flagler also have three “lecturers” who will be moving into assistant professor roles upon completion of their PhDs in December.

Emory’s Goizueta Business School hired five new faculty members with a combined two years of experience. The one professor with previous teaching experience is Suhas Sridharan who left UCLA’s Anderson school after two years. Before joining the Anderson faculty, Sridharan earned a PhD from Stanford’s GSB. New professors at Goizueta have earned PhDs from Temple, the University of Southern California Marshall School of Business, and UT-Austin’s McCombs School of Business.
