The New Faculty Faces At The Top Business Schools

Georgetown’s McDonough hired three new professors with a combined 18 years of experience. Hiring Jonathan Stroud as an associate professor of operations and information management was the big hire for McDonough. Stroud earned a PhD from Duke and was a postdoctoral fellow at Chicago Booth before spending seven years a piece at The Wharton School and George Washington University.

The University of Washington Foster School of Business hired five new faculty members with a combined seven years of experience. The two professors with previous teaching experience are Masha Shunko who spent her previous four years at Purdue’s Krannert School of Management and Crystal Farh, who was previously at Michigan State University. Their first-year professors just graduated with PhDs from Penn State, Carnegie Mellon, and the University of Arizona.

The Washington University Olin Business School hired seven new tenure track assistant professors with a combined four years of experience. The loan incoming faculty member with previous post-PhD classroom experience is Daniel Gottlieb who is coming from a stint at The Wharton School.

The lone faculty member to join Vanderbilt’s Owen faculty this year is Benjamin Munyan. After finishing his PhD at Maryland’s R.H. Smith School of Business, Munyan joins Owen’s faculty as the only newbie. Let the hazing commence. Munyan’s background and specialty is in finance.
