Paul was instrumental in my acceptance to MIT Sloan—with a ~25% scholarship to boot. With a ~3.1 GPA from undergrad, I knew I needed to overcome an academic hurdle and present a truly compelling story. Paul helped me do exactly that. His coaching, guidance, and support were invaluable, and I cannot thank him enough.
The most important part is that Paul doesn’t just help you craft your story—though he’s exceptional at that—he truly takes the time to understand who you are and what drives you. His deep insights, thoughtful feedback, and unwavering encouragement made a huge difference at every step.
I genuinely could not have done this without Paul’s help. I’m incredibly grateful for the role he played in making my dream come true, for believing in me, and for being such a dedicated and supportive partner throughout the journey.
Kanishka played an instrumental role in my MBA application journey, helping me uncover and refine stories that were both deeply personal and strategically aligned with what top schools look for.
From our first brainstorming sessions, Kanishka challenged me to go deeper, helping me glean the insights that made my essays truly compelling. His feedback was sharp yet supportive, and through multiple iterations, he ensured my voice stayed authentic while the narrative became stronger and more focused.
He was always responsive, thoughtful, and clear in explaining the “why” behind every suggestion. Thanks to his guidance, I was able to craft a cohesive, engaging application that ultimately helped me secure admission to INSEAD. I’m incredibly grateful for his support and would highly recommend him to anyone navigating the MBA application process.
Paul’s coaching was instrumental in my successful admission to the MIT Sloan Fellows MBA program. As a non-traditional candidate, I was initially unsure how to position my background, but Paul helped me identify my key strengths and craft a nuanced, compelling narrative. His strategic insights, personalized feedback, and deep understanding of the application process were invaluable. Paul’s candid advice not only sharpened my essays but also enhanced my career planning. I highly recommend working with him if you’re looking for an admissions consultant who brings both expertise and a tailored approach to your unique story.
Paul was an incredible guide throughout this process. When I first reached out to him in February 2024, I was completely overwhelmed—I lacked clarity on how to tell my story and what my priorities were.
Paul not only helped me define my narrative and present it in the most impactful way, but he also guided me through a deep introspective evaluation. He pushed me to truly understand what I wanted to do, why I wanted to do it, and whether it was the right time.
Beyond that, Paul challenged me to excel on the GMAT. When I started working with him, I had a 610, and thanks to his guidance and the external support he recommended, I achieved a 740. Even when I doubted myself, he believed in me.
Applying alongside my fiancé, it was critical for us to get accepted together, and Paul’s guidance played a key role in making that happen. We applied to Stanford GSB, Wharton, and Booth. I received an interview at GSB, a $120K fellowship from Wharton, and an $80K fellowship from Booth—results that exceeded my expectations.
I would never have realized my full potential without Paul. My investment in him yielded a 12x return, and I couldn’t be more grateful!
Paul was absolutely instrumental in helping me get accepted to Columbia Business School, even with below-median GRE scores. I started working with him a year before Round 1 applications, and honestly, it was the best decision I made. He helped me fill in any gaps in my story or application that admissions might have seen as weaknesses, making sure I put my best foot forward.
What really stood out about Paul was how well he got to know me as a person. He has this incredible talent for helping you craft your story in a way that feels authentic and unique to you. As someone who has always struggled with standardized tests, I was worried that getting into CBS wasn’t realistic. But Paul focused on making every other part of my application as strong as possible—my resume, essays, letters of recommendation, and extracurriculars all became standout components.
On top of all that, Paul is just a genuinely kind, thoughtful, and supportive person. He was super responsive (usually getting back to me within 24 hours) and made a process that could have been overwhelming so much more manageable. Between working full-time and not having peers going through the same experience, it was invaluable to have Paul as my go-to person for every question, big or small.
Since your application is such a personal process, it’s so important to have someone you feel comfortable opening up to. Paul made me feel completely at ease from the start, and his guidance was a huge reason I got to where I wanted to be. I can’t recommend him enough to anyone tackling MBA applications!
I reached out to Paul after reading his incredibly effective book “Great Applications for Business School”. His astute guidance yielded admits to IMD, Oxford Said, LBS, and UCLA Anderson – all with scholarships totaling $200k.
Over the course of several weeks, we worked together to sharpen my narrative and improve my resume and essays. When necessary, Paul connected me to consultants who had graduated from my target schools so that I could get first-hand insight into what worked for them, and how my candidature could be improved to meet the school’s specific needs.
I’d strongly recommend Paul’s expertise (and his book) to anyone applying to business schools.
Paul was a fantastic consultant and provided honest feedback regarding my candidacy. He provided plenty of support on all parts of my application (resume, interview, essays, target schools). Paul is expensive but you get what you pay for. I ended up getting into Columbia (one of my top choices) with a significant scholarship.
With just two weeks left before the LBS application deadline, I decided to apply and sought Paul’s services. He quickly helped me identify my unique selling point and craft a compelling narrative around it. His ability to distill my experiences and strengths into a cohesive story was impressive. Throughout the process, Paul provided insightful feedback and guidance, ensuring that every aspect of my application was polished and aligned with my goals. His efficiency with time was remarkable, and his dedication to my success was evident in every interaction. I couldn’t recommend him more highly.
Working with Paul was one of the best decisions I’ve made in my business school journey thus far.
Prior to working with Paul, I tested out 3 other admissions consulting consultants (all were top 10 consultants in Poets & Quants each year and are household names in the game) and was told that my role at a Financial Services company (an extremely competitive bucket) and my ethnic background as an overrepresented minority would be a tough bucket to crack for M7. I was consistently told by other consultants to “aim lower”.
But not Paul. After our first intro call, Paul was able to spot something unique in my profile and told me to aim high. With Paul’s help, I submitted to HBS, Wharton, and Sloan in Round 2. Not only was I accepted to Sloan with a 120k merit scholarship (completely unexpected!), I received my dream acceptance — an offer letter from HBS. Not too shabby for someone who was told by other admissions consultants that M7 would be tough to crack! And it was all due to Paul’s help.
Paul has an innate ability to spot unique differentiators in his clients, and he gently probes and unravels parts of one’s life experiences and backgrounds until all the pieces fall into place to create a story that is both unique and genuine to the applicant. Paul truly cares about his clients, and having Paul’s support helped to make an otherwise stressful process…even fun.
While some other consultants I’ve worked with made sessions feel transactional, as if it was purely a numbers game for them, Paul will give it his all to help his clients succeed. Not only did I walk away with acceptances to some of the best business schools in the world, I learned so much about myself through the thorough “gentle probing” process that Paul deploys, and walked away more clear of my goals than ever before.
To prospective applicants reading this, go with Paul. Coming from someone who tried out 3 other top admissions consultants and still ultimately went with Paul, I guarantee you won’t regret it!
I highly recommend Paul as a b-school consultant. My acceptances were at Kellogg ($120K scholarship), Darden (full ride/$165K scholarship), and Columbia. Paul is the founder and president of Admitify. He spent considerable time to get to know me, my goals and my story. He was incredibly kind – something I didn’t really expect from a consultant – and engaged in our interactions. He was honest with me about my chances at top schools but respected my decision to give it a shot anyway. I was extremely overwhelmed (as we all are) starting the business school process, and working with Paul immediately made me feel like things were under control and I had the direction I needed to succeed. He helped me take all of my accomplishments and craft one cohesive story. He pushed me hard on my essays in his thorough reviews, never settling for ‘great’ and always striving for ‘outstanding’. He also gave me structure and support for my recommendation letters that really helped both me and my recommenders optimize and streamline the process. Across the different elements (essays, reccs, interviews), Admitify had proprietary resources for me to use specific to each school which were super useful. Paul is awesome!
Paul has been an outstanding coach, with excellent results. With him, I got acceptance letters at GSB, HBS and Booth (50k merit scholarships): 3/3. Last year, applying without any consultant and with a similar resume, I got no acceptance letters. Besides the results, Paul is candid and patient, puts in the required time, is very experienced and structured… It’s a pleasure to work with him. Me being international and Hispanic, shows Paul is comfortable working with different backgrounds.
Paul is an exceptional partner, guide and mentor and is the best in the MBA admissions business! Toeing the fine line between realism and optimism, he extracted and showed me how to highlight the unique aspects of my story and set me up on a path of guided introspection that really showed up in my essays. He also has a calming presence and a calculated approach that really helped me handle my apprehensions and also prevented me from making mistakes. His understanding of the ins and outs of the process and was critical to my application, given my time constraints (completed the entire process in ~4 months) and coming from an extremely competitive applicant bucket. He was extremely responsive, supportive and always went the extra mile, be it setting up calls late into the night or even coming back with edits right around deadline time! All this led to admits at HBS and Wharton and a waitlist at Booth. Working with him truly was a transformative experience and his services are worth every penny! I am truly happy to recommend Paul to anyone who’d be interested in applying to full time MBA programs.
Paul is hands-down the best consultant you can work with if you truly want to maximise your chances of getting in to your dream school. I spoke with a lot of consultants before making a decision on who to partner with for my essays and Paul stood out immediately for his kindness, authenticity, and eagerness to dig deep to my story. Without Paul I genuinely believe I would not have elevated my essays to the extent required to stand out. Paul is very generous with his time, extremely thorough in trying to understand what your best assets and stories are, and goes above and beyond to help you turn them into a very creative and unique story. His experience and dedication guided me towards the right path and challenged me to go the extra mile to really craft the best essays my own background could give. Thank you Paul, you honestly changed my life!
I enjoyed working with Paul throughout the business school application process. Across the months we worked together, he spent weeks understanding my background and story so that I could craft a memorable and meaningful personal statement for each school I applied to. His years of working in the space lends him a unique perspective on what makes a compelling and powerful candidate application. With the help of Paul’s consulting services, I got in my top 2 choices for business school, HBS and Columbia Business School, and was also wait-listed at Wharton.
I did a deep diligence before hiring an admissions consultant (10+ profiles screened), without hesitation Paul is the best option if you are looking for a consultant that will guide you through the process, break down the complex parts of multi-school applications, and give you candid, honest feedback and suggestions to maximize your admittance chances: With Paul’s help I was able to secure a spot in both Booth and MIT, plus a waitlist at HBS.
Paul is quick in his replies, will push you to try harder when needed, and even help you shed light on your goals, trajectory, story and how all that translates into a strong application (e.g., he brilliantly convinced me to apply to Booth instead of Wharton based on my profile/interests and got the admission + in fact loved the culture when engaging with the Booth community).
I could not have done it without him — I have referred Paul to several friends who are applying and have heard nothing but great feedback about him.
I wholeheartedly recommend Paul Bodine for his exceptional MBA admissions consulting. With his extensive experience in the field, Paul expertly guided me through the application process. I worked with him on the all-inclusive 1-school package, and he was instrumental in securing my admission to Stanford GSB with above-average financial aid.
Paul’s strength lies in his dedication to understanding his clients and helping them craft unique, compelling stories. He took the time to get to know my background and aspirations, ensuring my essays truly reflected my goals and experiences. His meticulous editing and insights were invaluable. While some self-motivation is required in managing deadlines, Paul’s timely feedback and support kept me on track.
I’m immensely grateful for Paul’s expertise and guidance throughout this process. I couldn’t have achieved this dream outcome without him!
In the competitive landscape of pursuing an MBA from a top tier program, Paul proved to be an invaluable asset, providing unparalleled guidance and support throughout the application process. Before Paul’s engagement I had a strong resume. But Paul helped me craft “my story” that became an integral part of my essays and interview with Darden. One of the key strengths of Paul is his ability to identify and fill the “gaps” that make a good application an exceptional one. Paul took the time to understand my career goals, strengths, and experiences, ensuring that the applications reflected my authentic self. Throughout the process, Paul exhibited exceptional professionalism and responsiveness. I consider Paul not just an MBA consultant but a true partner in the MBA application journey, and highly recommend Paul to anyone aspiring to get into a top tier MBA program.
Paul is an exceptional business school consultant. Combining competence with warmth, he was foundational to me achieving admission to the business school of my dreams.
As a consultant, Paul blends the finest elements of storytelling, marketing, and project management in a calming manner. It seems to me that a core element of business school admissions is creating a compelling (for admissions officers) and unique (based on the applicant) narrative. Paul shines here – he played the role of the therapist in our initial meetings, spending hours combing through my personal history, understanding my motivations and ambitions around my career path. As we got closer to the deadlines, we iterated on every aspect of the application – the essays, the test-taking, the application itself – to make sure that they conveyed the blend of characteristics that we had identified make me a distinctive and compelling applicant – that make me myself. Throughout it all, Paul was a responsive and calming presence, assuaging concerns, encouraging me forward. I cannot be thankful enough!
Ever since I met Paul, I immediately felt very comfortable working with him, his coaching and guidance has helped me not only to get acceptance with a $40,000 scholarship at Wharton, Chicago Booth and WL at Stanford but he has also helped me to understand the power of my own BRAND and how my career and expertise differentiates me from my peers though the power of storytelling. These skillsets that I learned though our multiple one-on-one sessions will help me throughout the rest of my career, and I would wholeheartedly recommend anyone who is planning to apply to a top tier MBA to work with Paul Bodine and his super-b consulting team.
Initially, I was skeptical of the value of these services, but Paul quickly changed my mind. He helped me figure out what aspects of myself to highlight to create the holistic picture admissions was looking for as well as make sure my writing sounded like me, but better! He was also incredibly responsive despite the fact that I was finishing crafting applications over the holiday season. I was accepted to UCLA and Boston University on a $50K Dean’s Scholarship and am ecstatic to be attending BU in the fall!
I spoke with a number of admissions consultants and vividly remember the first conversation with Paul – I instantly felt he was the right person to work with. Beyond his expansive knowledge of admissions (particularly across my target schools of HSW – just scroll down or up for more proof points!), I felt like he truly understood my story, the roles I have had leading up to it, and the messages I wanted to land with schools.
Overall the process was fantastic and everything you would want from an admissions consultant. He understood critically what it was that would differentiate me (and notably what would not), using this as the north star for how I shaped my applications. He was also very engaged and consistent in reply times.
The one point I’d like to highlight in more detail is that throughout the process Paul challenged me to go further and unravel stories until there wasn’t any juice left to squeeze. During this journey at times, it would feel frustrating and often exhausting as I tried to introspect deeply on stories to understand if there were any other moments that truly influenced me or shaped the ‘why’ behind the anecdote. My advice if you work with Paul is to hang on for the ride! This process really increased the depth and substantiveness of my essays and enabled me to put my best foot forward to admissions committees.
In the latest MBA application round, I got into Stanford!!! (and also Wharton and Yale wait lists). I couldn’t get the offers (especially the Stanford one, which is my dream school!!!) without Paul. Paul believed in me and saw my shining stories from such a professional and poetic perspective that I couldn’t find myself. Stanford’s offer is a life-changing event. In this way, Paul helped change my life!!!!! This is the help that I will never forget for my entire lifetime. And I appreciate and feel so grateful for meeting Paul and for all the help and support Paul gave along the way. I will remember this for a lifetime. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND everyone who aims high to have Paul help.
Thanks to Paul Bodine’s expert guidance, I was offered admission at Chicago Booth and Dartmouth Tuck, plus a spot on the waitlist at Stanford GSB and MIT Sloan, and an interview at Wharton. I enthusiastically recommend him. Paul is an exceptional, and exceptionally committed, admissions consultant with the experience, wisdom, and perspective to help clients produce applications they’ll be proud to submit.
Let me rewind. In December 2021, I was rejected from three top MBA programs. I knew I wanted to reapply. I also knew I needed to approach my applications differently. So I turned to Poets & Quants to find a consultant who could help. After reading reviews, reaching out, and having initial meetings with six top admissions consultants, my choice was obvious: I had to work with Paul Bodine. As you will find if you talk to him, Paul exudes subject matter authority and expertise (he literally wrote the book Great Applications for Business School) yet he comes off as approachable, curious, and kind.
From January, we met at least once a week. Paul wanted to get to know me. He came prepared with thoughtful questions and conversation starters that pushed me to clarify my goals and explain my experience. And because I work in a non-traditional industry, Paul even read biographies about the founder and owner of my company in his spare time. When, after a few weeks, it became clear to both of us that I would strengthen my application if I could gain additional responsibility at work, Paul helped me craft a pitch to my boss that led to me getting a promotion and a raise.
Do yourself a favour and reach out to Paul Bodine. His guidance is invaluable and his level of commitment is staggering.
Paul helped me with my interview and my video for Booth. His insights were valuable and made me much more comfortable for the interview itself. Besides, he also helped me with the video requested by the school, and that was also great.
As I am now approaching the end of my first semester at Columbia Business School, I am so grateful that I had the opportunity to work with Paul to ensure that I had the best odds of being accepted to the best business school for me. Paul takes the time to understand you as not only an applicant but also as a person and this helps you construct the best application possible. I truly believe that I ended up in the best program for me and that Paul played a big factor in my application process.
Working with Paul and his team was one of the best decisions I took when doing my application. Thanks to him I was able to receive admission letters from Harvard, Stanford, Wharton, and Booth (all the schools I applied to).
My main weakness before starting the MBA process was developing my own story for the essays. Paul was able to help me develop a convincing story of why I will be a strong MBA candidate and why the MBA was the next logical step in my career. Additionally, when I began the application on my own I thought that one sentence for some answers of the application was enough, but while working with Paul he made me realize that every question is an opportunity to show the admissions teams your strengths and always pushed me to use the maximum number of characters.
Paul was always willing to help and was super responsive in all the stages of the process. Even on the days near Christmas and New Year’s Eve, Paul replied and helped me complete my application as if it was any other normal day of the year. Paul also prioritized my request when I asked for help with Harvard’s post-interview reflection working with me until late hours to meet the 24-hour deadline we have.
I also would like to note that Paul was the only advisor that encouraged my husband to do the GMAT again so he could have a stronger profile and improve his chances. While other well-known advisors refused to work with my husband given his low GMAT, Paul accepted to work with him and also convinced him to do the GMAT once again by telling him to focus only on obtaining a higher quant score and stop worrying about the verbal section. He did so and was able to obtain a 760 GMAT score. He did the GMAT more than 3 times and almost gave up but thanks to Paul he didn’t. (For everyone that is suffering with the GMAT right now my advise is DON’T STOP BELIEVING IN YOURSELF! )
There are a lot of options out there in regard to consultants and honestly, it is hard to comb through the reviews and figure out what is real and what is not. I talked and emailed with more than a few consultants and Paul instantly stood out. His initial response to me via email was thoughtful and personalized – I could tell that he put the time into looking over my profile. Also not once did he ‘hard sell’ me or try and be a salesman. I felt like the entire process in terms of a perspective client was personalized without any pressure to commit. That was big for me. Then during the process of crafting the app for GSB (I only applied to one school), he was timely, consistent, and on top of things. His positivity and support help me glide through the application and it was honestly a breeze and could have not been a more seamless process. As a client of his it felt like I was the only person he was helping – that is how personalized and on point his service was. Perhaps some of the other consultants run you through a conveyer belt type of service but not with Paul. I highly recommend Paul and I also do believe you pay for what you get. So don’t go cheap on a consultant – these guys work hard for you and you need to realize that the compensation they require is very much aligned with the service they will provide.
I worked with Paul before my interview. I found the feedback on structuring and picking examples and follow-up questions on my anecdotes particularly useful. Paul had thoroughly gone over my application and also gave several suggestions on experiences I should highlight in the interviews.
Overall I found working with Paul very smooth and I believe his feedback and preparation helped me do well in the interview.
Paul is the absolute best! Paul not only helped narrow down my story into an impactful narrative but also urged me to stick to deadlines since I struggle with procrastination. Paul is invested in you and your success the minute you sign on with him and getting his guidance is undoubtedly the best decision I made in my MBA application journey.
I only applied to 3 schools and with his help, I got into Wharton R1 and into HBS after being waitlisted. Paul also encouraged me throughout the waitlist process and helped me craft my update story which finally got me in! I highly recommend Paul to anyone who is considering applying to M7 and especially HSW!
Paul helped me get an Admit from CBS with a 66% Scholarship of Tuition. He also helped me get admission from Yale SOM and waitlists from Chicago Booth and Kellogg.
This he managed to do while working with me just for two months between December and January.
I had reached out to a number of Admissions Consultants, most of whom were reluctant to work with me given my atypical career path and instead suggested that I apply a year later. However, Paul was willing to take that chance and helped me sell my uniqueness of background in the application.
I had worked with him on an hourly basis, despite which his responses were very quick and he never charged more time than needed to send his suggestions.
His efforts helped my personal story shine and helped me concretize my goals and ambitions.
I would highly recommend working with Paul!!!
Paul was excellent to work with as an MBA consultant. He made himself very accessible and was always helpful and insightful with his feedback and advice. Because of Paul’s wealth of experience with the MBA application process, he was able to provide insider knowledge on how to tailor my story to fit each of my schools’ strengths while also providing tips and tricks to make my application stand out. He was especially helpful during the essay writing portion of the applications by gently pushing me in the right direction or providing honest and constructive feedback from the lens of an admissions officer. And for those who are skeptical of hiring an MBA coach because of the cost, I would recommend a one-school approach similar to what I did: work with Paul on your top choice/earliest deadline school, then use his advice and knowledge learned and apply it to your other applications. Overall, I truly don’t believe I would have been admitted to all four of these schools without Paul’s help and I highly recommend him to anyone considering attending a top MBA program.
I came into the application process knowing nothing and with a strict deadline as I took my GMAT very late. Paul was prompt and very helpful with all of his feedback, and my admission results are indicative of his expertise.
I am so thankful that I was introduced to Paul. I was quite unfamiliar with the MBA application process and can’t express how grateful I am for his guidance, advice and calm demeanor. I decided to accelerate my application process in order to meet Columbia’s early decision deadline, and Paul went above and beyond to help me finalize my application in time. This included jumping on zoom calls during odd hours of the week / weekend to help accommodate my busy work schedule, going through several iterations of multiple essays, helping me think through the right way to frame my near-term and long-term career goals, and more. His response rate to every email is incredibly fast, and he is very efficient on providing thoughts/questions on every document that is sent his way. I was especially appreciative of this given I was working under a tight time constraint. In high school and college, I worked with career advisors/prep consultants who made me feel stressed and like I wasn’t doing enough. Paul is the exact opposite – he helped highlight my strengths on my resume and in my essays and approached every conversation and email exchange with positivity and confidence. Paul has so much knowledge about the application process and each university. Paul made such a positive impact on my entire application experience, and I am so happy/thankful to say I am attending Columbia in the fall (my #1 choice for business school).
I worked with Paul for about 9 months (5 months more intensely after the GMAT!). I couldn’t have gotten into Columbia and Wharton without Paul.
From the beginning, Paul was transparent about the extracurriculars and quality of application needed to get into these top schools, especially considering that I am an older applicant (entering at age 31). He helped me attack every part of this “disadvantage.” He showed me how to flesh out my goals and story. He showed me how to research programs for my goals (which I never did for undergrad). He helped me navigate the seemingly endless world of application data forms and nuances. When going through essay writing, I admit that I wanted many iterations, but Paul graciously met me in my paranoia – his edits encouraged my voice and story to shine through. And by observing so many of Paul’s edits (also with help of learning grammar for the GMAT), I gained confidence in my writing, researching, and thinking abilities.
When I received interview invitations, Paul respectfully pointed out my weaknesses and immediately suggested a strategy for me to improve that involved being introduced to other consultants who assessed my presence. Paul and Deborah quickly organized a TBD mock with Admitify clients across the world and moderated by a Wharton alum who gave personalized feedback (I believe this was instrumental for my Wharton acceptance). When I was waitlisted at Columbia, Paul managed expectations, but shared with me stories of people he’s seen get in (or not in) off the waitlist, helping me craft each of my waitlist updates.
The point is: once you’re a client of Paul’s, be ready to work and iterate. Be respectful of his time and wisdom that he’s sharing with you. Start early and communicate often, and Paul will give you every resource he thinks you need to succeed.
Paul was instrumental in helping me craft winning applications for Harvard, Stanford, MIT, Booth, Kellogg, Haas, and Dartmouth. Paul is calm, responsive, and patient. He will (gently) push you as far as you are willing to be pushed. He’s an expert at weaving together themes and positioning you to be the best candidate you can possibly be. Furthermore and perhaps more importantly, the deeply reflective process that Paul guided me through via many draft iterations and the initial discovery call was seriously enjoyable and allowed me to deeply explore my “why” and “how.”
If you are looking for a consultant who focuses on the story and the writing, my suggestion would be to work with Paul and follow his lead. He’s (successfully) walked this path a time or two.
I have engaged Paul’s services after reading glowing reviews online, in particular from applicants to H/S. I had reached out to a number of admission consulting companies, all of whom estimated my options to be very, very low (I am an atypical candidate on the older side of the age spectrum, from an unknown international school). Paul, however, saw in me something that no one else did: I had a real shot. I knew only had one shot, and limited time available, all whilst working 80h+ per week. Paul guided me to dive deeper into my background. He listened tirelessly until no stone was left unturned – as cheesy as it sounds, I learned a ton about myself in the process. Paul was able to provide an opinion about what others would and would not find impressive (and it’s very different from what I would have imagined). To my surprise, but not to Paul’s, I got an interview invite, and after some interview practice with Admitify and some long weeks of waiting, I got into Harvard – and I absolutely love it. Interestingly, as I meet people at Harvard and we talk about our backgrounds, I see that the part of my background that people find most interesting is indeed what Paul helped me uncover. Without Paul, I would not have been able to uncover, let alone articulate, what makes me tick. One phrase sums it up for me: want to get in? Use Paul.
I worked with Paul for almost a year on MBA applications. From our very first brainstorming call to the navigation of waitlists, it was always clear that Paul was invested in my success. Paul goes above and beyond and takes a tailored approach with every application. His level of familiarity with what each school is looking for is invaluable. Paul’s turnaround times were always incredibly fast and his feedback was always thoughtful. The MBA application process can be a long journey, and Paul was the best partner I could imagine to help ease the pain of the process. With Paul’s help, I received acceptance letters from Booth, Kellogg, and Haas (with a $50K scholarship). I also received a spot on MIT’s waitlist. Paul’s continued guidance and encouragement through the waitlist process is a testament to his genuine desire to see each of his clients succeed. I would highly recommend Paul to anyone who considers applying for an MBA.
Working with Paul over the eight months in the build-up to round 1 was invaluable to my acceptance to HBS this time around. As a re-applicant who was interviewed and ultimately dinged a few years ago, I knew it would be critical to identify and analyze the areas of improvement (e.g., my story and long-term goals) in order to achieve a better outcome. Paul’s dedication to getting to know his clients was apparent to me after just one session. He thoroughly reviewed my applications from the previous cycle and we spent several hour-long sessions talking in depth about my family, my background, and my goals. From there, Paul helped me develop a game plan and kept me accountable (not in a pushy way!) to meet the deadlines we established to meet the round 1 deadlines. Inevitably, things got pushed out due to my GMAT studying and a busier than expected summer work schedule, but our plan was crafted with enough buffer that I never felt at risk of missing the round 1 deadlines or rushing my work product. With respect to my essays, they turned out stronger than I could’ve ever imagined! Paul helped me to think critically about my narrative and “connect the dots” with my long-term goals. In addition to my essays, Paul helped me prepare for my interview and accurately predicted the topics that the interviewers would dive into, which helped me go into the interview with confidence. Paul’s help and guidance was exactly what I needed and as a result, I am happy to say I will be a member of HBS 2024! I cannot think of a better or more genuine consultant to work with for the grueling MBA process – I would highly recommend Paul especially or those interested in the most competitive B-school programs!
Tl;Dr – working with Paul was the best MBA-related decision I made. Having worked with a different leading MBA consulting company the year prior, Paul was everything that I had thought was missing in my last experience. I advise you to put the cost investment of working with Paul into perspective (i.e., the cost of attending an MBA program) and assure you that the money spent is absolutely worth it!
Here are the three most important things I would like you to know about working with Paul:
1. Trust; Paul genuinely cares: I learned to blindly trust Paul early on after I had just been dinged by GSB (I had worked with a diff consultant that year) and was deciding between re-applying or going to Haas. Paul spent a lot of time and effort (more than what I had paid for) reviewing my dinged app, identified a lot of areas where my application could be elevated, but still recommended going to Haas. Only after I found a new role that considerably improved my candidacy did he suggest we give GSB another shot. This showed me that he prioritized my success over finding another client.
2. Meticulous/detailed red-lining: As I mentioned earlier in my review, I had worked with a leading competitor before and had hated how their comments/edits to the essay were broad strokes and tough to action. On the other hand, when you receive a red-lined version from Paul, you can see that every word has been read thoroughly, evaluated individually, and curated carefully to crisply convey the core message without losing the applicant’s voice.
3. Relationship/above and beyond: Paul goes above and beyond for you without thinking about “the most time-efficient way to get the app done” for himself. Working with Paul feels like working with a close friend and confidant. I remember spending multiple zoom sessions just word vomiting at him, as he took notes, and made concise suggestions in the end that seemed to capture everything I mentioned. Paul really knows how to get to the crux of what you want to get out there to the application committee. Even after I got into the GSB, he spent additional time helping me write my financial aid essay, which got me $100K+ in scholarship. He is the absolute best!!
Paul helped me navigate the process from waitlist to final acceptance. I had heard amazing things about Paul. And my journey with him was a testament to that. Paul provided perhaps the best possible guidance. What strikes Paul apart is the personal touch that he applies. He really went out of his way to guide me at each step of the process and was always available to help me out. I have nothing but gratitude for Paul’s support and encouragement throughout the process!
I’m very glad I chose to work with Paul on my MBA applications, and I’ve already recommended him to friends. It’s clear that he knows how admissions readers think and what they’re looking for. From our first call, he helped me understand my strengths as an applicant and outlined a cohesive plan to showcase them to admissions. As a non-traditional applicant, I was worried about articulating my career goals, but he really helped me refine them and connect them to my past professional experience. In editing each of my essays, he challenged me to draw out details while also making the most of tough word limits. He also provided helpful advice on other aspects of the application, from approaching recommenders to strengthening my quantitative profile to interviewing. Throughout the process, he was incredibly responsive and easy to work with. I received over $700K in scholarships across the five schools that accepted me (Wharton, Booth, Yale, Tuck, Sloan). I genuinely don’t believe I would have achieved the same success without Paul’s assistance and experience.
With Paul’s guidance and support, I was admitted to several of my dream schools (including “stretch” schools based on my GPA/GRE) and am leaving this ~1y process extremely happy with the results. Paul’s intake form helped us immediately hone in on my key differentiators and stories as an applicant, and Paul expertly dug into those stories with me to develop them and weave them into a coherent narrative that connected to my career goals. Of course, I don’t have anyone to compare Paul to, but as my and others’ results demonstrate, his process and experience are *exactly* what students need to go through to be admitted into top programs.
Now for the results: I was admitted to HBS, Wharton with a $70K fellowship, Haas with a $175K fellowship (full-ride), and also interviewed with Stanford GSB and MIT Sloan. I was granted an interview at every single program I applied for (probabilistically, there was < a 1% chance of this happening if I were a random applicant), and becoming a dual admit to HBS/Wharton was far beyond my expectations (I had a 3.4 undergraduate GPA and 328 GRE with Quant at 70th percentile; for context, I am 29F, URM, and Sr. PM at FAANG with post-MBA goals in entrepreneurship).
Paul is a master with conveying one’s story and creating powerful narratives for business school essays. He is super fast with his turnarounds and very insightful about what top business schools want in their class. I had bought his book ‘Great Applications for Business Schools’, and had read it cover to cover. I knew Paul would be the best person to work with on my application and I was only delighted at each step of the journey with him. He did a complete review of my Resume, pointed out my strengths and my most impactful stories, and then helped me translate those into well-structured essays. I highly recommend him to anyone looking to get into M7 + INSEAD + LBS.
Admitted to both Insead and LBS+Columbia joined Global Executive MBA programs, Paul Bodine was instrumental in helping me craft a winning application and essays!
Competent guidance, fast turnaround, and expert editing are what Paul is masterful at.
Pragya was a great coach to work with. She knows Wharton and the opportunities it offers very closely, having attended the school, and knows how to present one’s application in the most differentiating way.
She was professional, insightful and incredibly helpful. She went through my essay drafts in great detail, giving corrective feedback and also brought her experience to clarify points where I had doubts- example the optional essay which I would have drafted differently if I hadn’t followed her guidance. Throughout this time, she was kind and encouraging, with fantastic ideas that greatly enhanced the quality of my essays.
When I got my TBD invite, she helped me with a mock and gave candid feedback on my performance, knocking off my rough edges and highlighting my strong traits. She knows well what Wharton looks for while assessing an applicant’s TBD and 1:1 interview performance, and helps one prepare well for the D-Day.
I was eventually admitted to Wharton with $75K Joseph Wharton scholarship, and have a lot to thank Pragya for.
I’m not sure what else there is to be said – Paul did an amazing job of helping build up my most powerful stories and communicating them in a way that truly spoke to my narrative. His professionalism, response time, and thoughtful insight were superb and he always had a welcome ear to bounce any/all ideas off of. Cannot recommend him enough.
I had a great experience with Paul over the past ~1year. Paul is extremely experienced, thoughtful, and sharp. His insights help me understand my weakness and shining sparks better, which eventually contribute to enhancing the essays. Beyond essays, his knowledge and deep experience also help me navigate through the process smoothly. For anyone who applied for MBAs, I highly recommend working with Paul, a reliable partner that you could fully trust in this long and uncertain journey of MBA applications.
Paul is an expert on the MBA application process, and it was highly evident in our application review and interview prep sessions. Paul is highly experienced, thorough, and sharp with his insights. In my interview prep, Paul not only highlighted my points of improvement but also my strengths. His advice helped me play to my strengths, and overcome my weaknesses through which I was able to secure an HBS admit. Paul is also a wonderful person – kind, thoughtful, and incredibly sharp! I would highly recommend him to future MBA applicants.
Paul was hugely valuable in my application. In particular, he helped me go from not knowing where to start with my essay, to writing an essay I was really proud of. Additionally, he gave advice on all other aspects of the application form and did a mock interview with me. All very valuable!
I’ve had the pleasure of working with the Admitify team and Julia in particular for my INSEAD MBA application. The whole process was smooth, with significant efforts made by Julia to be accommodating in finding the best course of action for my specific requirements. Julia’s work on my essays was relevant and impactful. She took the time to layout the weaknesses of my essay from a structural and narrative point of view, guiding me into developing a stronger story that better reflected my experiences. Grammar and sentence tweaking was left as a footnote at the end of the process, as opposed to other consultants I’ve worked with who spent most of their time focusing on this, less relevant, aspect. Julia was extremely responsive and available throughout the process, consistently sending her feedback quickly and within the deadlines she set for herself. All in all, I feel satisfied with the quality of the service I received and would recommend working with Julia/Admitify to other MBA applicants.
