At the beginning of my application journey, I spoke with various top admissions consultants. About 5 minutes into my conversation with Court, I knew that he was the one I wanted to work with.
What made Court stand out? Instead of focusing on my weaknesses and how my profile needs to improve, Court made an effort to learn what drives me, what I want to do, and what makes me who I am — he was already thinking about how we can shape my application. I could tell that he was going to be a true partner throughout the process.
Court is extremely knowledgeable of the MBA process. His approach is very detailed and truly helped me identify my strengths so that I could shine in my application. Although his process was structured, Court was flexible with his approach. He was willing to change how we work together and craft my application so that I was comfortable enough to put my full self into the application. He helped me identify my goals, strengths, and how my prior professional and personal experiences connect with how I can contribute to each MBA program I applied to.
He went above and beyond preparing me to write my essays, even helping me get in touch with alumni at my target schools. I had multiple essay iterations, and he provided thorough feedback to each. Court helped me identify my differentiating factors and bring light to stories that showed my strengths. He helped me see how experiences that I initially thought were unimportant or irrelevant actually were vital in sharing my story and what I could add to the MBA community.
With Court’s help, I was able to show more about my candidacy with each component — the essays, recommendations, short answers, and the interview. He helped me connect that thread throughout my application so that the admissions committee would not be left with questions.
I am an extremely anxious person, so although Court helped me craft the best application I could have submitted, I was still nervous that I wasn’t going to get interview invites or be admitted. Court helped me manage my anxiety and trust the process – his process. He helped me believe in myself and feel like the schools I applied to were actually in reach. Note, he wasn’t just telling me what I wanted to hear. He was candid in where my application could be stronger, but instead of focusing on my weaknesses, he helped me bolster my strengths in other areas of the application.
I was accepted into my top choice (Wharton!) with scholarship – something only 30% of admitted students achieve. Court helped me achieve this.
I contacted Court about almost only one month left to submit my round 2 applications. After talking to him in the free consulting session, I decided that he was the coach I sought for.
I come from an international background, also non-traditional background. During the entire process, Court has been extremely friendly (with a great sense of humor, too!), patient with my inquiries and questions, and respectful of my strengths, weaknesses, background experience, and decisions. When the submission dates became imminent, Court performed extraordinarily quickly and responsibly to help me polish my materials at a swift pace. Then, Covid-19 struck, my mother went sick, and I had to take care of her and work on the final touch of my materials. Court was very supportive and considerate of my schedule, school choices, and potential backup plans. Whenever I was about to lose faith in finishing and submitting in time, Court was there to listen, encourage, and give advice. I applied for a mix of MBAs and Masters of Real Estate. We finally made it. I had offers from UCB, Columbia, and MIT, and ultimately I chose MIT.
From my own experience with Court, you won’t regret choosing him to accompany and guide you through the arduous application process. Court is responsible and caring, always replies on time or even quicker, and never lets you down. He is also a kind and lovely person with a great writing style, a sense of humor, and without bias. He is the type of coach who really would like to get to know you, understand your needs, listen to your frustrations, ambitions, and future goals, and in the end, help you to figure out a feasible plan and make sure you rest in good hands.
The MBA prep school’s website is also resourceful and helped me to save a lot of time. Honestly, the package price is quite reasonable, even a great deal, for the actual service you get from Court. I eventually became friends with Court after my application was made. I want to give him 10 stars, but the website only allows 5 🙂
Faisal from MBA Prep School is the portrait of professionalism, subtle humor and MBA expertise. I worked with Faisal to build a compelling application just a handful of weeks before my application deadline. We didn’t have a long runway and to make things more stressful, I applied to one school. The stakes were high. But with Faisal’s timeliness and personalized dedication, I’m thrilled to have been accepted to a dual-degree program (MMM) at the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
What impressed me most about Faisal was his deep knowledge of the MBA admissions process and his ability to help me craft a narrative that set me apart from other applicants. He was always responsive and provided timely feedback and support, which helped me stay focused throughout the stressful process. I want to particularly note how helpful Faisal was in facilitating the stories I used for my essays. We initially reviewed one of my essays for the application and after reading through it together, we felt it was “okay”. Not terrible but also nothing spectacular. It was at that moment when Faisal reminded me of a small detail I had written on a draft of my resume to use as the foundation of one of my essays. I didn’t realize the level of impact it would have, but I trusted his advice and completely rewrote my essay after he reminded me how special of a story it was. It ended up being such a strong essay that my admissions officer mentioned it to me over the phone after I had gotten accepted. If it weren’t for Faisal’s support and encouragement, my essays wouldn’t have been as polished and unique as they were by the time I submitted my material. Faisal was my champion in making sure my stories were clear to Kellogg. I also loved that Faisal connected me with a former MMM student who previously worked with him, and now that Kellogg alum is a dear friend of mine thanks to Faisal’s initial introduction.
Truthfully, Faisal began as my MBA admissions consultant but somewhere along the way, he became an older brother who I could speak to in confidence about my personal and professional endeavors as I navigated this chapter of applying to business school and now earning my MBA + MS in Design Innovation this summer at Kellogg. He’s a true partner and a brilliant advocate, and I feel like he always went above and beyond to see me succeed. I especially loved my mock interview with Faisal the day before my Kellogg interview. I firmly believe that my preparation with him beforehand led to such a meaningful interview with the admissions officer the next day. The second my interview ended, I texted Faisal, “I don’t think it could have gone any more perfectly.” With Faisal’s guidance, I had a newfound confidence and was able to present myself in the best possible light to Kellogg. I used all of the pointers that Faisal shared and I asked refreshing questions at the end of my interview, which ultimately led to my application being accepted into one of the top business schools in the world.
My success is Faisal’s success. I’m grateful to have had such a phenomenal admissions consultant in my corner but even more fortunate to have found a life-long mentor.
With deep gratitude, Tabassum
When starting my MBA journey to apply to schools, I needed someone to help guide me through the MBA admission process. I wanted to be with someone that had experience and knew inside and out about the admissions committee and how the process worked. My friend encouraged me to seek out a great consultant because even though he had a 730 GMAT score, he was admitted to a less-than-ideal business school for his score and GPA.
Before starting the process, I reached out to two consultants. With my consultation meeting with Faisal, I felt very much at ease with him. I wanted to work with him during this process! I knew I had some marks against me, such as being over the median age of the average student profile, I am 34, and failing a class in my undergraduate school.
It would be an uphill battle attempting to get into certain top 25 MBA programs I was aiming for. In the beginning, Faisal worked with me to create a DNA sheet of who I was. This information really helped with the different essays the different programs asked for. Faisal worked with me holistically on how to best craft the essays during the application process. I have a music background which we integrated into the essays and the interviews. He helped me think about my leadership times and my end goals. He was very kind when working with me when I was formulating ideas. My overall timeframe was short; I had less than six weeks from the start to submission of the essays at the different universities for round 2 deadlines. Faisal set up the dates the deliverables were due. If one sticks to the plan, it was possible to apply to the universities by the round 2 deadlines. This really helped me to have many short-term due dates to be able to submit by the application deadline! I applied to five programs, and I had three interviews. Faisal and his team really helped prepare me for the interview process. When hearing back from the universities, I was accepted to a top 25 MBA program! I am so excited! I know that without Faisal and his team, none of this would be possible. If you are looking for guidance and someone that has years of experience, I would look no more! Faisal works very hard for his clients, and I couldn’t be happier.
Tyler makes the MBA application process feel not only manageable but also rewarding. He goes so above and beyond the role of an admissions consultant and is really more of a partner who pushes you to reflect and better articulate your story in a manageable, step-by-step way. I was accepted to Stanford GSB and could not have asked for a better coach throughout that process.
3 reasons why Tyler was so great:
(1) He is incredibly thoughtful, to the point where he felt like a life coach. One of the first exercises I did while working with him was to map out my life story and career goals in order to build an initial understanding and foundation for my application. His pattern recognition, attention to detail, and investment in you are unmatched. For example – there were a couple of times where months into the application process, he brought up relevant experiences I had put on the initial “life story” worksheet but had since forgotten about.
(2) He provides comprehensive support. The fact that Tyler only takes a small number of clients each cycle was evident in the level of care and commitment he shows. It took a huge weight off my shoulders knowing that during the busiest parts of the application process, he was always there to provide feedback on written materials and interview prep alike. Not only is he generous with his time, but he also has an extensive database of sample videos and materials for every step of the application process that you will get access to. Between the off-the-shelf materials and his tailored approach, I felt like I had more support and resources than I could possibly use.
(3) He is honest yet encouraging, and given his extensive experience has a keen eye for what matters. While friends or mentors were helpful sounding boards, I felt like only Tyler consistently gave me the honest feedback I really needed to hear – e.g., where to cut out the fluff, when something wasn’t working, etc. At the same time, he was the best cheerleader throughout the process, right down to when I got the acceptance call!
All in all: Go to Tyler if you want to a) finish the MBA application process knowing you gave it your best possible shot, b) come away with a better vision of who you are and where you want to go, and c) have a wonderful coach to cheer you along the entire way.
A friend recommended MBAPrepSchool to me for the business school application process. I started my MBA journey a little late, but Faisal was able to tailor this process to my needs and timeline so I was still able to apply for round 1. I started working with Faisal officially around mid-June of 2022, which was the best decision I’ve made for my application process. I came in without even knowing what programs I wanted to apply to. Faisal really took the time to explain all aspects of the application process and outline key strategies based on my situation. Rather than just look at me as a statistic, Faisal took the effort to know me as a person and kept me in check during the whole process to ensure we are able to meet my application deadlines.
Faisal was very forthright about the whole process and my prospects. I was an Asian male applying to primarily very Asian-heavy programs with mid-600s GMAT scores. Especially with the timeline of the applications and my progress at the time, I was not expecting great results. Despite these short-comings, Faisal never shot me down or made me feel like I shouldn’t apply to any of the top programs. In fact, he supported every decision I made but clearly outlined my strengths and weaknesses from an objective perspective. He devised a clear strategic plan and flowchart for me to put my best foot forward. On top of that, Faisal’s personality makes it really easy to open up to him, and therefore working with him during the application process felt like working with a friend. What really impressed me was how he was able to help me clarify my own personal and professional goals through our conversations. During this process, I was able to really figure out why I wanted to get an MBA and what I wanted to get out of it. For me, I think this is the most valuable takeaway.
As of the time of this writing, I have been accepted to both programs I applied for Round 1. One of which is one of my top choices. I even received a sizable scholarship. I can’t thank Faisal enough for his support and guidance during this process. I highly recommend Faisal to anyone who is looking for a knowledgeable, supportive, and personable MBA consultant.
As someone from an overrepresented background with a non-linear career trajectory, I knew that it would be crucial for me to have an admissions consultant who can help me structure a compelling story for a top MBA program. I spoke to a number of consultants based all over the globe and found that Court had the best action plan to support me through the grueling MBA admissions process.
Court was able to help me bring out various aspects of my work experience, extracurriculars, and personal life in creative ways that made me confident about my ability to apply to top MBA schools. He always had availability on his calendar and would also go out of the way to schedule a time slot, when necessary, despite me being in a very divergent time zone.
Court also played the role of a mentor through the many months we worked on my applications. He always believed in the strength of my candidacy even when I would doubt it and also offered to connect me with his acquaintances in the industry I’m interested in post-MBA.
Thanks to Court I was accepted into Wharton Lauder, my dream program, with a sizeable Lauder fellowship. I highly recommend MBA hopefuls, and especially candidates with non-traditional profiles, to work with Court as they begin their MBA journeys.
If you’re considering working with a consultant for the MBA application process, Christina is a stellar choice that you will not regret. I worked with Christina on an hourly basis and received admit to CBS, Wharton, and Harvard.
At the start of the application process, I had completed my GMAT and was acquainting myself with the different requirements for each school. I was naïve, thinking that I’d be able to tackle the process myself using a self-guided MBA application platform. After speaking with current students and alumni, I found that most of the students used a consultant and began seeking one out for myself. During my intro call with Christina, I immediately noticed the difference between her and other consultants. Christina was honest and direct; she gave me candid feedback on where I currently stand while emphasizing the importance of each piece in the application package, without being a “salesperson” in any sense. Christina genuinely cares for her clients and wants to see them reach their highest potential. She pushes you to give it your all and in return, does the same for you. She will spend long hours in the night mulling over your application, not out of obligation but out of care for you and passion for her work.
I most valued Christina for her: – Incredible writing: One of my original motives for working with a consultant was feedback on my essay and resume. While I received so much more throughout our time together, this was truly where Christina really stood out. Each document she receives would be returned with more feedback than you could imagine possible. She carefully considers the line of content and ensures there is value added. She’s a fantastic writer, so her comments are always very on point. – Attention to detail: Nothing slips by Christina, and as such, she becomes extremely well acquainted with your profile and ensures you are leveraging everything that makes your application unique. Often Christina would suggest including parts of my experience that I had shared previously in passing that I even forgot myself. This also means that she is a powerful accountability partner. If you say you’ll do something, you better believe she will check to make sure that you do! – Actionable feedback: At the start of our work together, Christina shared actional feedback to strengthen my existing profile. Much of the EC work that I believe to have made a significant impact spurred from her invaluable suggestions. She understands what type of experience (professionally or personally) will stand out and guides you to enhance those areas. Setting these goals at the start of our work together allowed me to have results to share once it came to application submission. – Connections in the AdComs community: She often shares insider info from her vast network in the industry and brings these insights into your work together. – Caring personality: No one around me had gone through this process so Christina’s support made me feel not alone. She is kind and lovely, which makes working with her all the more pleasant. When she is strict, you can feel that it comes from a place of compassion. I am grateful to have made a friend in this process.
There are still so many reasons as to why Christina is a first-rate consultant, and I hope you have the opportunity to experience them for yourself.
I started my MBA application process by interviewing with ~5 different consultants. I chose to work with Faisal after our 30-minute consultation. My first impression of him was that he was thoughtful, likable, candid, and wouldn’t sugarcoat the process for me, and he believed in me. These impressions were all confirmed throughout our time working together. Further, his prior experience at Booth was a big selling point for me, as this was one of my top choices. I am a former student athlete, and my story is centered around my athletics background. My biggest fear was that my application would come across as overdone, since there are plenty of applicants with athletics backgrounds. I wanted to work with a consultant who could help me tailor my story to be authentic and unique. In working with Faisal, he asked me dozens of questions about my background, my athletics career, and my professional career. He took the time to get to know me and understand what makes me me. He helped me hone in on the aspects of my story that stood out, and pushed me to make my story more compelling across the application. In addition, there were other items that came up when working with Faisal I found extremely helpful that I hadn’t originally thought were that important. First, the process management Faisal helped with was massively helpful for me. He assigned weekly tasks, deadlines, and check ins. For someone who has a pretty demanding job, it was incredibly helpful to have someone tracking my progress and making sure I was on top of the comprehensive application. Second, Faisal pushed me to research each program in much more depth than I had originally thought necessary. For the “Why X School” essays, I knocked it out of the park because Faisal continually pushed me to go deeper, reach out to more alums, and dive into the unique offerings at each school. He didn’t let me settle for a surface-level essay. Finally, the application review by another consultant that MBA Prep School does was awesome. The second consultant who reviewed my application had a new perspective, and that helped me put the final touches on my essays to drive home my story. All in all, I would highly recommend working with Faisal. I had a wonderful experience working with him, and ended the process with 4 acceptances and $310k in scholarships, a result I hadn’t thought possible. In addition, Faisal is smart, thoughtful, and experienced, and I don’t think I would have achieved the same end result had I worked with someone else.
I was a reapplicant, my GMAT score was expiring in fall 2023 and had a less rosy entrepreneurship background (funding fell through, had to scale down expansion).
I spoke with almost 20 consultants before deciding to work with Faisal for the R1 2023 intake. During our initial call he was candid about my prospects but at the same time not outright dismissive, considering my background. Another thing that stood out about him was that he only coaches 5 candidates per round, this was evidenced by his reviews. This can be considered a con due to less exposure with candidates but his experience particularly Booth Adcom experience makes up for it; plus I wanted to work with someone who gives personalized attention rather than someone who coaches 50 candidates per round and follows an assembly line approach.
Every coach would probably have a mechanism to get to know the candidate. But Faisal’s MBA DNA document was very exhaustive, forced me to do a lot of self-exploration, and formed the foundation of my applications. During the application process, Faisal was readily available, and also gave his WhatsApp details to reduce turnaround time. The essays we put together were an enormous improvement from my previous essays.
In the package, a mock interview is included. When I needed another interview as I felt I needed more practice, he arranged it within 24 hours, on a Sunday, with someone who had prior Adcom experience (was on a deadline). I took a 4 school package with MBA Prep School, and Faisal went above and beyond and reviewed two other essays apart from the 4 schools. He also helped me with scholarship applications. It can be evidence from these examples that he actually wants you to succeed.
I will be attending Haas (with a USD 60k scholarship). Faisal has played a major role in me getting the said offer.
Court is an excellent mentor. I’m based in Chile and was inclined to book a local MBA coach but after doing more research and having an introduction call with Court, I felt that given his expertise with international folks combined with his deep understanding of the complex application process, I should hire Court. A few months later, after many ups and downs and Courts immense support, I got accepted at Columbia Business School and I’m very happy about the decision I made.
Court has an incredible storytelling talent, he helped me highlight my key experiences, skills, and personality traits. He motivated and supported me during the good and the difficult times in the process.
I sought MBA consulting to help me to navigate the admissions process and refine my application. When it was time to put pen to paper, I lacked the confidence to effectively communicate my accomplishments. Working with Court was the turning point of my EMBA application process. He is truly gifted at his craft and helped me find my voice in my application. By the time my interview came around, I was confident knowing that I had absolutely put my best foot forward in every detail of my application – thank you to Court.
As for his working style, Court is extremely accommodating and genuinely wants to see you win. Because I had a fast-approaching deadline, Court met with me evenings and weekends to ensure I was prepared to submit my materials on time. Court was judicious of our time together, and I left every session with a sense of ease. He is very personable, and kind and makes a great effort to understand his client and their story. Beyond the application, Court helped me critically think about my “why” in our work together which made me even more grateful to have found him when I did.
Needless to say, working with Court was worth the investment. I highly recommend taking any opportunity to work with him!
Fifteen consultants/companies. That is the number of MBA consultants I interview with. And Court was the last one I talked to among 15, and the best. Finding a good consultant is “dating”; sometimes, it’s all about feeling. I still remember the day I first met with Court. One year ago. Time flies. That day, I was tired due to the entire week’s work. But I immediately woke up because Court was full of energy and already had some questions specific to me and an initial plan.
Even before I paid the money, Court answered all questions and emails quickly and helped me to find connections with his previous candidates with similar backgrounds to learn more about what Court could help with. Court is a premium-level consultant, which means if you are looking at this testimonial now and Court already says he wants to work with you, you are amazing. Now the next step is showing your personality and unique story to those gatekeepers (admission team) of M7 and S16 schools. Court works in the Media industry; Court is an active writer of famous newspaper columns; Court is a professor, especially teaching people how to pitch. Court is an expert in teaching his candidates how to use an essay to touch the readers and how to let people memorize you in only one or two minutes.
M7, S16 schools are totally different. If you have watched Harry Porter before, I am sure there is an invisible Sorting Hat of MBA admission telling you are Gryffindor or Hufflepuff. Court will help you find your unique point of difference, link with the school’s unique culture, and specify your career goals and contributions to the school community. Court is a strategist, or let’s say, a “wizardkind.” If you decide to work with Court, please make every decision with him and trust him.
Trust me, sometimes during your application year, you will feel worried or even despair. At least, I was. And Court became a therapist. He never ever loses his trust and faith in me. When I need someone to give me advice or support, Court is always there, never leaving. Court brings out the best in me, and always takes my essay or other application materials to the next level. As a data scientist, when I build a prediction model, from 0% to 90% is easy. But every single improvement from 90% to 99.99% is much more difficult. Court and I persist together, to make my application to the 99.99%. Can you believe how many times we worked on a one-minute pitch? And try different versions of intros to make the pitch full of memory points.
I am grateful that now I have a friend despite the difference in age, a mentor with tons of life experience and significant accomplishments, and a person who shares the same VALUEs, with whom I can always talk to. I may still get into a good school without Court’s help, but with Court, I am becoming a better person knowing I have the potentials and abilities to contribute to the community.
As someone unsure of what admissions committees look for, I engaged with Faisal on an hourly basis in order to refine my essays and resume. Faisal helped me refine content in early drafts and perfect my presentation in later drafts.
One thing that I can say for certain is that Faisal knew how to make me stand out. I really appreciate that aspect since I am applying from an over-represented demographic, and I do not have flashy or prestigious work experiences. Faisal helped me hone my story in a way that appeals to business schools while keeping my entire application truthful and authentic.
Through round 1, I have been admitted to Booth, Kellogg, Columbia, and Yale SOM (with a half scholarship). I am truly ecstatic knowing I have so many outstanding choices on the table. I would not have been so lucky without Faisal’s help. Hiring a consultant is pretty expensive, but I consider the price of working with him an investment that paid off. High recommendation.
Court was the best thing that could have happened to my MBA Admissions process.
I started my journey by talking to a lot of potential MBA consultants, and I knew that Court was the one I wanted to work with as soon as I met him. In our informational call (before I had even signed anything), he didn’t just tell me what I wanted to hear. He gave me genuinely helpful feedback and things to think about in regard to my application, and he made it abundantly clear that he was the most experienced and thoughtful consultant of them all. It was clear that I’d be in good hands.
Once we started our engagement, Court was the perfect balance of instructor and cheerleader. He had a highly-successful method that made it so easy for me to self-reflect on my goals, identify my application themes, and understand how to craft my application. He also looked out for me by connecting me with extra resources for my post-MBA field, giving me advice on how to become a better writer, and truly tailoring the entire process to what would work best for me. Honestly, he wasn’t just a consultant. He was a mentor, a confidante, and even a friend.
Court helped me get absolutely stellar MBA admissions results. Thanks to him, I gained admission to three top MBA programs – plus scholarships! I truly couldn’t have done it without Court. I’d recommend him ten times over.
I worked with Court on my application to Columbia. Upon first meeting, Court and I instantly connected as we have similar career backgrounds. He took the time to understand my goals and desires with my application. I was a re-applicant to Columbia and working on a quick turnaround. Court worked to manage my timeline and put my best self forward. I worked with Court on an hourly package and he went above and beyond to guide me, was always available to answer questions, and used my hours efficiently. Court is an amazing MBA coach and is very kind and supportive. He invests in you and wants you to have the best outcome. Throughout the whole process, he was encouraging and gave me the confidence to believe in myself. I was accepted into Columbia which was my dream school. I recommend him to everyone.
I worked with Faisal for my applications to b-schools last year after I was referred to him by a friend of mine. I was in the process of finalizing a consultant and was meeting with admissions consulting firms left, right, and center.
The first thing that worked with Faisal was his brutal honesty about my chances. I was a male IT engineer from a non-IIT background applying with a GRE score of 325 (To most, these parameters are as close to a death knell as they can get) and Faisal was extremely candid about the fact. What I absolutely loved about him was that he did not shoot me down exclusively based on my score (like a majority of consultants did) or painted a very rosy picture of my applications (like a lot of others did). Faisal devised a plan for us to develop the application and focus on retaking the GRE in parallel.
Faisal works in an extremely comprehensive manner to craft the applications. Before getting started we worked on an extensive document to flush out all of my important life stories. The questions in the document brought out stories that I almost forgot existed. We then honed in on developing a compelling narrative across applications and together we drafted compelling essays (essays that I’m proud of).
I ended up with a T20 admit with a ~$45k scholarship. I can’t recommend Faisal enough. Post admit, Faisal has continued to mentor me and advise me on a host of things. I barely noticed when he stopped being the consultant and become a treasured mentor who had my best interests in mind.
I reached out to Court two weeks before the first application deadline, so it meant we had a really tight schedule. Despite the quick turnaround, he did not compromise on the quality of the app and helped me build the best application possible. He was very responsive and flexible throughout the whole time we worked together. I had a lot of material scattered everywhere and Court helped me focus the content. He is a great person to work with and supportive throughout the process and even after everything was submitted. He would regularly check in to offer support. I ended up being accepted to both schools I applied to (HBS and Wharton)! I highly recommend Court as he is not only a great MBA coach but also a person that genuinely cares for the success of his clients.
Quite frankly, I had not heard of admission consultants before; I wasn’t even searching for one! I came across Tyler’s website by chance (~late November for an R2 submission) while searching for essay writing tips to tune up my essays.
Tyler’s profile caught my attention because he had an MBA with a master’s degree in professional writing. I was curious to know how consultants could help..especially for someone like me (I considered my application ‘nearly there’), so I scheduled a free consultation.
Our first conversation was smooth; Tyler makes you feel very comfortable. I surveyed another admissions consulting firm too, but eventually went with Tyler for a few reasons:
1) Tyler’s background – MBA and professional writing. A very unique and powerful combination!
2) His personality/approach – not pushy, and like other reviewer’s have noted below, Tyler is like a life coach who tries to understand who you are deeply. There’s a genuine interest to go beyond the top layer (which I realized later can help your essay reflect who YOU actually are, and help you stand out)
3) Experience – I valued Tyler’s rich years of experience; he would have seen what works well and what would not. There are consultants who may have a good personality/approach, but may not have the experience to guide your unique case proficiently.
As we got going, Tyler encouraged me to start from the basics of my story so he could understand who I was and guide me accordingly. I may have been a bit impatient because I thought my essays were almost complete before Tyler reviewed them, but he patiently took me through a few life exercises that got me thinking so much more deeply (and I am very thankful for!). What made me who I am? (people/situations) What are my innermost drivers? What do I really (really) want to do in my life? Tyler was able to connect the dots in my story and articulate it beautifully which encouraged me to go back to my essays and give them a few more rounds of work. He knew my top schools extremely well (a huge plus!) – their culture, what they stood for, and looked out for in candidates. He was very patient while reviewing my essay drafts, going through each iteration with full commitment (even though he had read them a few times already!) and sharing valuable pointers at EVERY step (every tiny detail!). Huge KUDOS to his strong work ethic and great attitude!
With Tyler, I received a stellar blend of the usual tactics that consultants employ (tools to keep things on track, 1:1 sessions, offline essay reviews, interview guidance/mock practices), AND his experience, expertise, and attitude kept me pushing for the best till the very end!
I would absolutely and whole-heartedly recommended Tyler’s services!
At 34 years old and working in senior management of a strategy consulting firm, I was a nontraditional candidate for MBA applications. The age factor irks several b-schools, although they don’t say it out loud. My last year’s applications were unsuccessful. I needed guidance on how to structure my story snippets and combine them into a cohesive whole. That’s where Faisal was a great support to lean on, his guidance was critical in telling my story in the most impactful manner. He went the extra mile to understand my background, and the events behind my personal growth, so that his recommendations were in-depth, and we could iterate our essays better.
I must also mention that Faisal was very empathetic throughout our engagement. He understood that I had a high-pressure job with long working hours, and was happy to move things around to fit my schedule. He reviews essays as fast as possible and goes above and beyond to ensure you meet the deadline with the best possible submission. A case in point, was when I had to push back a couple of submissions from our initial planned dates because I was down with covid. The essays I produced were very close to the deadline, but Faisal took out his personal time to ensure the essays were in good shape, helping me meet the submission deadlines.
He is a great coach and mentor, and I owe him my success. I would recommend him – especially if you are an underdog like me, he’ll bring out the best in you!
When I decided I was going to apply to business school, I wasn’t sure about whether I was going to work with a consultant but as I reflect back on my process, working with Tyler was the BEST decision I could have made to be admitted to my dream school (Harvard Business School). He is an outstanding coach and mentor that helps you dig deep to shape your own story. Beyond having a clear process with modules, articles, and videos (which I suspect is the norm for other consultants as well), I will share a few ways he stood out. (1) Tyler will be your biggest supporter and cheerleader. The business school application process can be stressful and oftentimes requires digging deeper or re-writing and when I hit a writer’s block or got discouraged, he always found a way to guide me in the right direction and keep me motivated. (2) He asks the right questions and lets you shape your own story. Finding a compelling story to tell is no easy feat but Tyler has a unique ability to help you do so. There were many “AHA” moments during our conversations, moments when I struggled to think about how to tie the stories together but a single question from Tyler helped me get there. (3) He is an outstanding writer that helps you balance the right level of detail and conciseness. I am so thankful for Tyler’s support throughout the process and could not recommend him more!!
I worked with Court on four MBA applications in 2 months. I was accepted to Northwestern Kellogg. At the beginning of the process, I had no idea what I was doing and felt overwhelmed by the complexity of the process. Court made the journey not simple, but clear, and possible. I would stress several key strengths of Court’s coaching style: 1) He believes in you, and that is something that will be very important because sometimes even you will doubt your own chances. 2) He has an instinct in sensing whether your storytelling is impactful or not, and will help you find key details that clarify your uniqueness, and will teach you how to best express them in both essays and interviews. Court will curate your application as a piece of art. 3) He has great communication, is transparent – yet respectful – in saying what he thinks, and won’t add any layer of complexity to a process that is already challenging in itself.
The teachings I received from Court are precious, and will remain part of me for my entire career.
I worked with Faisal as a reapplicant during the 2021 application cycle, and it was the best decision I made in the entire pre-MBA process. In brief, Faisal is a true professional who delivered on what he promised and exceeded my expectations at every step.
What impressed me right from the start is how quickly Faisal peeled back the onion layers to really understand me – my motivations, my experiences and ambitions. After our second conversation and a thoughtful questionnaire, I felt that Faisal already knew me, at least in certain respects, on a deep level that’s typically reserved for close friends and family. We literally covered some topics that I had never spoken about before, let alone thought would be relevant to an MBA application. And that is the secret sauce. A week into working with Faisal, we had already established the core material that I would use to write a deeply personal application and stand out in a sea of other traditional applicants.
Because I was reapplying, we also spent time at the outset determining what areas I would need to strengthen and how I would strategically show growth and reflection in the short turnaround time from my application the year prior. This was extremely valuable, and Faisal quickly homed in on a number of areas for improvement. He pushed me to add credibility to my career switching ambitions, ensuring I had a cohesive thought line from my early experiences to my post-MBA plans while demonstrating that Booth was the perfect school to help me reach my goals. Through the many rounds of essay drafting and editing, Faisal was truly masterful at pushing me to sharpen my responses and draw from the well of core material that we established early on. Faisal helped me turn a good application (waitlisted the prior year) into an undeniable application, accepted round one.
Before I started working with Faisal, he made it clear what I could expect from him. He said that I would need to commit to the process of introspection, be open to feedback and invest the time needed to craft impactful essays. In return, he promised that when I hit the submit button on my application, I would be turning in a product that was the absolute best representation of myself. This is exactly what I experienced, and it’s the reason that I would strongly recommend Faisal to a friend or anyone else who would benefit from working with a consultant.
Being a naturally introverted woman, and a working mom of two teens in Dubai, I was very doubtful that my dream of being admitted to a reputable business school in the US could ever be realized. I felt vulnerable and so unlike a typical MBA candidate. That was before I met Court. I had met with a couple of other MBA coaches before him and never felt the same connection. It was his kindness that struck me immediately. He is brilliant, ethical, methodical, and trustworthy. He had a genuine interest in helping me be all I could be and it shone through in every interaction. His approach was tailored to me, he never tried to cast me in a particular mold. His way of building up my candidacy centered on my life, aspirations, and achievements, all the while reassuring me of my strengths, immediately allayed a lot of my fears and made me more confident about my prospects. He broke down the daunting application process into much smaller and manageable milestones and planned for each and every one of them with me, which made the process as easy as possible. He was my guiding light and a watchful eye. Despite the nine hours time difference between us, he was always available and always prompt in his feedback, even making the time difference work to our advantage. I will always remember how he would refer to the deadlines as “our next deadline…” as a real partner in the process. I naturally enjoy writing but it was his critique that made it a lot more fun for me. He helped in refining the content until it was crisp and impactful and a real reflection of my journey. It was amazing to see him work. In interview preparation, he was like a mirror of truth, giving me meticulous feedback covering a range of aspects, helping me feel much better prepared and confident. I have learned a lot from Court, even beyond the application process. I am glad to have gotten to know him as a friend and a wonderful human being.
“Venkat, you are a unicorn, and many top business schools would love to have you as their student.”
Court believed in my credentials more than I did and said the above sentence numerous times during my application journey. He spent almost an hour during our first conversation understanding my background, profile, and life story. He had a similar journey to mine-transitioning from journalism to the business world through an MBA. That was an added advantage, and I decided immediately to seek his guidance. His valuable suggestions helped me shape my application efficiently and taught me various things related to my post-MBA career. I am highly confident that his bits of advice during the conversations and video calls will be helpful even after a decade from now.
Court’s patience, dedication towards his work, simplicity, and empathy make him different from other best MBA coaches in the market. UCLA Anderson was my top choice since day one. He felt happier than me when I got the UCLA Anderson School of Management offer. This speaks volumes about the connection he establishes with the aspiring students.
If I had to summarize everything into four words, I would say, “Court is the best.”
I would 100% recommend Tyler to friends applying to business school.
I was daunted by the MBA essays. I decided to work with Tyler after attempting to write a number of drafts – I could see that the narrative was not coming together and that I needed support to build and refine the story.
I spent time with Tyler talking through my experiences and aspirations after business school. My next few drafts were much better. Working with Tyler helped me to think deeply about what has been my personal turning points, what is driving me, and where I really wanted to go with my career. These sessions were immensely helpful not only for the application process but also led to some ‘aha’ moments for my career planning in general!! Tyler will coach you to understand and craft the best story that you can given your experiences and aspirations – it was exactly the help I needed.
Tyler also supported me to prepare for interviews – his guidance and encouragement ultimately helped me to go in feeling prepared and confident. The post-interview debrief call shortly after helped me to gather my thoughts prior to the post-interview reflection essay.
I really believe that Tyler’s support helped me to present my case in the best light possible for HBS Admissions – I am very grateful for his guidance!
I remember starting off my application journey doubting my candidacy and being daunted by the process ahead. My dream schools felt completely out of reach. And then, I met Court. I’d spoken with other consultants before and hadn’t felt a strong connection, but immediately felt Court saw me for who I was. He was invested in me from our very first meeting, and his enthusiasm and passion turned what could have been an agonizing process into a very rewarding one. Court broke down the application process into manageable pieces, from resume editing, story building, and essay writing, all the way to interview preparation (and every step in between). He patiently worked with me to refine, polish, and, when necessary, go back to the drawing board with my materials. The result was confidence at every juncture that I was putting my truest self forward in my written applications and interviews. I received a call from my HBS interviewer post-acceptance in which he told me I had one of the best interviews he’d seen – and that is thanks to the prep I did with Court! Court has a rare talent for seeing the best in people and inspiring them to express that outwardly. My applications were immeasurably more authentic thanks to his encouragement to dig deeper, be detailed, and be open to vulnerability. And it is precisely that authenticity I credit with receiving acceptances to HBS and Wharton. I never felt like I was working in a purely transactional business relationship because I was working with a mentor and friend who genuinely cared about my success and wellbeing. He believed in me even when I doubted myself – I almost chose not to apply this past round because I was so worried about taking the GMAT! With his support, I persevered and will be attending Harvard Business School in the fall. Court’s impact continues beyond the time I spent applying and interviewing. The written and verbal communication skills he taught me will be invaluable at business school and beyond. On a personal note, he serves as one of the greatest examples of a true coach, embodying empathy, perceptiveness, and authenticity in spades. I’m very fortunate to have worked with him and would do so again in a heartbeat.
Before meeting Court, I was inclined to work with another consultant that was well-known in my country but with whom I didn’t feel a connection. However, after meeting Court, it became evident that he was exactly the kind of coach that I needed. I realized that he was genuinely interested in getting to know me and my motivations. In order to pursue 6 applications, I needed someone who would not just support me, but guide me and challenge me through the process. Court is that person.
From the very beginning, our interactions were very fruitful. Far before writing essays, Court helped me explore my short and long-term goals. He also helped me see the contributions that I could make to each MBA program, and discover some of my stories that would later prove to be invaluable when writing my essays. He was always very supportive, even during the tough period of studying for the GMAT. Court was always able to jump on a call when my morale was low.
During the essay writing process, Court was key to achieving an impeccable standard in all my essays. He provided detailed feedback on each essay, helping me to write stories with coherent messages, always sharp and straight to the point. What mattered most to me is that Court always respected the essence of my story, something that I appreciated deeply. Court remained available for calls when I needed feedback or was uninspired.
When I was called for interviews, Court gave me excellent tips to prepare myself, and provided me with very actionable feedback after our mock interview. I ended up being accepted into four programs, two of which were my top choices.
I believe that working with Court made an incredible difference in my overall process. He was very supportive from the beginning and encouraged me to deliver the best applications possible. If I had to do this process again, I would choose Court in the blink of an eye.
I reached out to Court in the summer before I applied to MBA programs. Early in our first meeting, I knew he was the perfect person to help guide me through the process. He really made an effort to get to know me not only as an MBA candidate, but as a person, and he consistently went above and beyond in helping me with each facet of my applications. His in-depth knowledge of the MBA application process, his level of thoroughness in the several rounds of constructive feedback that he gave me (while still remaining incredibly kind), and his background in storytelling were all immensely helpful as I wrote my applications.
After the applications were submitted, Court continued to go the extra mile during the interview process. He gave me tips on details that I would have overlooked without him, but after hearing them, I felt that my interview skills drastically improved. The mock interview that he conducted gave me the confidence and ability to put my best foot forward during my actual interviews. The coaching he provided for the interviews was invaluable to my success.
As a person, Court was always incredibly kind, and even though my application process is over I’m glad to say I’ll always consider him a close friend. Before I met him, I felt that Stanford GSB was a bit of a long shot for me, but he instilled confidence in me that I had a chance, and ultimately his guidance was instrumental to my acceptance. He not only knows the vital ins-and-out of the MBA admissions process, but further stands out because of the distinctive qualities of his professional storytelling background and his kindness through the process. He is not only a top-tier MBA coach, but also an amazing person.
The experience of working with him was invaluable, and I consider working with him to be one of the best investments in myself that I’ve ever made. Thanks to him, I’m going to attend the school of my dreams. I would unequivocally recommend Court to anyone who is lucky enough to have the opportunity to work with him.
As a consultant from an overrepresented background with below-average GRE and GMAT scores, I knew I needed to make significant changes to succeed as a reapplicant. I spoke with several consultants worried that I was aiming too high, and some even declined to work with me. I was looking for a consultant who has experience as an MBA admissions officer, could assist me in tweaking my story, assist with project management, and help me stand out from my peers. After speaking with Faisal, I was confident that he would assist me in addressing my areas of concern while also acting as a partner throughout this stressful time.
The most valuable time we spent together was diving deep into my journey. We spent ample time talking through where I was from, why I made certain decisions, and what led me to apply to business in the first place. By talking through my motivations, I formulated my story and established my brand. This investment paid dividends when we eventually worked through the school selection process and subsequent essay writing. Faisal was very open to me leading this dialogue, but he struck a unique balance while explaining to me why certain schools would be realistic or not. He did not discourage me from applying to my “dream” school, but he also opened my eyes to schools I was not considering yet had a clear path to my end goals.
Once we began essay writing, Faisal consistently responded within 72 hours (in most cases well before) and offered advice and improvements that did not alter my voice in any way. We went through several drafts for each of my schools (5-7), and I felt he put the same amount of time into each. Thanks to his responsive and superb project management of application forms, establishing recommendation timelines, and more, I submitted three competitive Round 1 applications. The result was two acceptances and a waitlist after going 0/5 the previous cycle. Faisal is the ideal consultant to work with as he commits to his clients (only 4-5) and assists in every process. I was personally referred to him and could not have been a successful reapplicant without him.
For starters, Tyler Cormney is an absolute legend. For almost 12 months, he served as my consultant, coach, and therapist. His continued guidance and leadership allowed me to accomplish my goals of gaining acceptance to my dream school, and I couldn’t have completed this treacherous application process without him. Tyler is dedicated to his client’s success, and his selective client list allows for extensive/ample time with each of his clients! 100% recommend, do not hesitate to reach out!!
When you select Tyler as your consultant, you are working with the MBA application master. Tyler differentiates himself from other consultants because he: (1) has developed a proven playbook, (2) has pattern recognition, and (3) serves as a true partner to those he works with. (1) In regard to his proven playbook, Tyler has been getting folks into top MBA programs for over 15 years. As someone who knew little about what the MBA process entailed, I was thrilled after my first meeting with Tyler. He clearly outlined what I needed to do to get into a top business program (Columbia was my first choice) and mapped out the key steps and timeline to get there. One of the most important parts of this process is branding yourself and Tyler knows how to do that better than anyone else. As someone with a fairly generic background, I combed through my academics, professional experience, extra-curriculars, and goals with Tyler to find a way to best position my story and differentiate myself from other candidates. What Tyler is especially strong at is finding the common thread that links backgrounds with future aspirations – something that I would have never been able to do on my own. Tyler not only knows how to create a memorable brand, but also how to effectively articulate it in essays, resumes, and throughout your application so that MBA programs can get a true sense of who you are. (2) In terms of his pattern recognition, Tyler has seen it all and has his finger on the pulse of what top MBA programs are looking for. After thoroughly reviewing my background and positioning my brand, we came up with a list of target MBA programs. Tyler showed me that although there are multiple top programs out there, they are all different – and he knows all of them inside and out! (3) Finally, Tyler serves as a true partner to those he works with. Over our ~4 months working together, Tyler was in the trenches with me. Every time I asked a question, sent him a draft, or wanted to talk, he was always available. I never felt like I was just a number with Tyler – he gave me his undivided attention and was always trying to think of ways to improve my positioning (even texting me articles about new developments at my target schools and podcasts about my career goals!). To conclude, I cannot speak more highly of Tyler – he really is the best. If you are looking to get into a top MBA program, he is the MBA application master who will get you there!
Finding an admissions consultant can be challenging, especially in Latin America. By the time I met Court, I had already spoken with several coaches and was inclining towards those with the highest “reputation”. Court is the last consultant I met. It was a surprise to see how attentive he was, and how eager he seemed to support me in my application journey. For the first time, I felt like the person on the other side of the screen could connect with who I was and what I aspired to do.
At that point, deciding to work with Court felt like a natural next step. From the beginning, Court supported me with discipline and order. We met regularly to deepen into my stories and my goals. Court has an impressive capacity to see you for who you are, but at the same time propose ways to improve the way that you tell your stories and present yourself. I especially appreciated Court’s constant feedbacks, always spot-on and valuable.
During the essays editing process, Court is the best partner you can imagine. He will never delve into commenting specifics if he’s not comfortable with the overall arch – which to me proved invaluable. Court understands the importance of building coherent, specific and powerful essays, and will go through every step necessary until the materials are outstanding. For the interviews, Court assigns the same level of dedication – delving fully into the role and giving specific and actionable feedback.
Through the journey, Court showed me how unique my stories are, and always made me feel like I deserved to be in these programs. Having this reassurance, as well as some friendly push to think outside the box about my goals, were also key factors for my successful applications. I can’t imagine having gone through this process with anyone else, and would recommend anyone to meet Court to see for themselves the amazing professional and person that he is.
Coming into the 2021 application cycle, I realized my profile, while having some solid attributes, also had a couple of “weaker” points. Therefore, I wanted to work with a consultant who would help me tell the best story in my applications. Faisal was recommended to me by a friend of mine who had been successful previously in his b-school applications. I talked to him along with four other consultants/agencies and felt more at peace with Faisal. While others focused on raw stats, Faisal was more interested in my story. After narrowing down the list of schools, he pushed me to reflect and come up with my “brand” narrative. His input on which points were more impactful than others was incredibly helpful. I am not a strong writer and knew that I needed the most help with the essays. Faisal really delivered the bang for the buck here with his impressive storytelling technique while keeping “my voice”. He was always super responsive and got back to me within 2-3 days. It always felt like he was your application “partner” and he was as excited about the application as you were. I also did a couple of mock interviews with him and received some actionable feedback. I was really excited to have received admits from LBS, Fuqua, and McCombs – all thanks to Faisal’s incredible storytelling inputs, mentorship, and guidance, and a little bit of luck!
After speaking with several consultants earlier this year, I selected Tyler as I was impressed by his: 1) structured step-by-step approach to the application process, 2) genuine interest in learning about me and telling my story, and 3) thoughtful and personalized approach to coaching.
Throughout my process with Tyler, I always felt supported and “on track”. He is highly qualified as someone who has gone through the application process himself and graduated from HBS, and he also has the writing chops with a Master’s degree in professional writing. Over this past year, I was impressed by how structured and efficient, yet thorough, Tyler’s approach was. We started off with deep-dive sessions into my personal and professional history, in which he helped pull out the key themes and areas I could highlight. My reflection process with Tyler was extremely introspective such that we could really understand and present my authentic self to the admissions committees. We met on a weekly basis to work through my essays and application, in which Tyler pushed me to dig deeper into my personal mission and “why” in life. His guidance helped me distill and convey my story in the clearest and most effective way possible.
Receiving an acceptance to Stanford GSB has been a long-time dream of mine, and I couldn’t have gotten here without Tyler. Thank you for all your guidance and support!
I can’t recommend Tyler enough. I was a round 3 candidate that got admitted to 2 out of 4 schools applied-Wharton, CBS; which were also my top two choices. I really appreciate Tyler for going beyond his contractual responsibilities to help me land the MBA admission offer of my dream.
Given all the odds that made 2020/2021 extremely unfavorable in timing for top MBA applicants (covid, fewer seats due to deferral, etc), I believe it’s not exaggerating to say that it’s an incredible success for any round 3 candidates to receive an admission offer from any of the top B-schools for the class of 2023. Nonetheless, while I did have a fairly successful career pre-MBA, I had graduated from a less well-known college and didn’t have an impressive record of extracurricular activities during college due to some unfortunate personal reasons. As such, I headed into the preparation process feeling very directionless and somewhat not too optimistic about my candidacy. Tyler has helped me uncover highlight-worthy aspects of my personal and professional success narratives, and in the process, mentally prepared me to confidently present my story during the admission interviews.
Last but not least, Tyler remained supportive of me and resourceful until the very end of the process as I was trying to power through the overwhelming period of round 3 unpredictabilities post-interviews.
Once again, I recommend Tyler with my utmost confidence for his superior expertise, professionalism, and compassion one will hardly find in a typical admission consulting coach.
Tyler has been my coach for my MBA application. With his coaching and guidance, I got into HBS!! I had low confidence in applying to Harvard as I have a very non-traditional background and I graduated from a mediocre undergraduate school. Tyler spent a lot of time learning my personal and working backgrounds, and he quickly identified a pattern of how I made decisions and how I was able to accomplish some of the achievements, and these elements served as great building blocks for my MBA applications, strengthening my confidences in applying HBS. We also had a couple of brainstorm sessions during which Tyler guided me to dig further into my career passion. Not only did I learn how to put my stories into my essay, but I was also able to understand myself better and articulate my post-MBA goal. I wrote many drafts of the essay, and Tyler was always very patient in terms of giving me feedback. When I got an interview invite from HBS, I was thrilled and couldn’t believe it was happening. Tyler did a mock interview practice session with me and it tremendously helped me to prepare for the real interview. When I received the offer letter from HBS, I was screaming and crying. In summary, I feel very lucky that I found Tyler as my coach. Tyler is extremely experienced, efficient, and helpful. He used a lot of methods to make sure I could fully understand myself and therefore present the best of me in my application. In addition to getting the HBS offer, I learned a lot from Tyler. I highly recommend Tyler if you are serious about getting into your dream MBA programs. Working with Tyler will be one of the best investments you will make!!! Thanks again, Coach Tyler!!
I used Christine for a six-school package (all M7) and had a great experience! She was very organized and did a great job of keeping me on pace to finish well ahead of deadlines, despite my schedule rapidly changing. Overall, Christine provided thoughtful input into my essays and teasing out a more meaningful story. Her feedback was very pointed and was helpful in creating the next steps. As you’d expect, Christine was highly knowledgeable on the admissions process and how to differentiate for each school. I ended up getting interviews with 3/6 schools and was accepted into 2. Thanks, Christine!
From the first consultation until I was admitted, Christine was extremely helpful and easy to work with! It was immediately obvious that she cares about her clients. She was instrumental in helping me understand and build my most effective and authentic story. Any time I had a question throughout the process she was always available to chat and provide feedback. Her previous experience working in admissions helped me gain a better understanding of the entire picture of my application. In the end, I was admitted to my top two schools. I would highly recommend Christine to anyone who is considering an MBA consultant.
As a 2+2 applicant who was starting a little late in the game (February of 2021 – roughly 2 months to complete apps), I knew I needed a consultant that would work with me in this shortened timeline and push me to the finish line. After interviewing a dozen other consultants to determine who would be the right choice, Tyler was the clear frontrunner on several dimensions: 1) knowledge in the area 2) years of experience 3) energy and excitement for me as an individual and my unique points of difference 4) clear understanding of a variety of career paths and how to effectively map my career journey and 5) ability to effectively craft and showcase narratives in a unique and compelling way (strong background to back this– Master’s in professional writing and HBS). I can say that after two months of working together really closely, these dimensions still ring true and more. Tyler has a really unique approach and style to crafting MBA applications that I truly appreciated. He takes the time to understand you and help you understand yourself, which is critical to writing the best essay you can (and an essay that is actually true to you). For my HBS essay, I went through so many versions (was on version 30+). I came close to giving up on myself but Tyler never gave up on me. He pushed me to continuously refine and refine until we got to perfection and I’m so happy to say that the final version is something that I’m really proud of – might have been one of the best pieces of writing I’ve ever written. Tyler’s the best coach, consultant, mentor, supporter, and cheerleader out there – if you’re having any doubts on which consultant to pick, don’t – because Tyler is the best out there and the one for you.
Christine was a pleasure to work with! I was initially skeptical of MBA consultants as the previous consultants I spoke with before Christine was mostly focused on their sales pitch and pointing out my weaknesses. My initial consultation with Christine was like a breath of fresh air. She provided a detailed assessment of my profile from the MBA Prep School quiz and constructive advice on what I should focus my essays on. She took the time to understand me and my story, helping me craft an application that was authentic to me. In addition to essay help, Christine provided me emotional support throughout the application process whenever I doubted myself and gave me the confidence to forge on despite my initial rejections from my R1 schools. I can tell that Christine truly cares about her clients and would recommend her without hesitation to anyone looking for an MBA consultant!
Christine was outstanding to work with through my MBA application process. She was instrumental in setting out a strategic plan to navigate past my embarrassingly low undergrad GPA and highlighting my strengths in the applications. Her vast knowledge of elite European schools and previous experience in admissions were invaluable, as she was always readily available to deal with any question or issue at moment’s notice. Ultimately, I was accepted into my #1 choice. I highly recommend Christine and MBA Prep. The investment was worth every penny.
I wanted to be extra thorough in my search for an MBA consultant, so when MBA Prep School first matched me with Court, I requested a few references with whom I could speak. Within a day, Court provided me with the contact information of three previous clients who all agreed. I really appreciated that Court provided me with these references so that I could feel extra confident in my choice. Upon learning about each client’s exceptional experiences with Court, I knew that I was making the right decision.
Hiring Court to guide me through the MBA admissions processes, in the middle of a global pandemic, was one of my best investments. His warmth and positive attitude made me feel welcome, confident, and less intimidated by the MBA application process. He emphasized that the process, while daunting, should ultimately be a fun and rewarding journey that in turn enables personal growth.
While the process is an intense commitment (both time-wise and emotionally), I felt like Court was by my side the entire time. He is a gifted storyteller who was instrumental in helping me craft my story in an honest and concise fashion; he had a way of offering advice without it feeling like I had to implement his suggestion. In fact, he knew that the first essay I drafted should be thrown out, as it felt inauthentic (which I also knew, in my heart of hearts). Thanks to his keen insights, thoughtful guidance, and sharp focus, I was able to complete five unique MBA applications in the course of 2.5 months.
I’m so grateful to have had the opportunity to meet and work with Court, and I truly believe that I wouldn’t have been able to be my true, authentic self throughout this process if it wasn’t for him. I consider my time spent with Court as a period of personal growth that ultimately will be aid in my success at Business School. Thank you, Court!
I cannot recommend Tyler enough!! He epitomizes a mix between a mentor, life coach, and an admissions consultant. He devoted a great deal of time getting to know me, my story, and my aspirations for attending business school. From my time working with Tyler, it was clear that he really cares about his clients and wants to see them succeed personally and professionally.
In terms of the working relationship, it was a pleasure to work with Tyler as he always made himself accessible and was truly engaged on all our sessions. He helps make the introspective journey manageable. His questions always sought to peel back the onion on my experiences and help me see the life themes that put everything together.
As you can imagine, the application process is long and arduous, but Tyler made it easy. He was always encouraging me despite bouts where my motivation was candidly subpar. He understood when we had to defer my applications to round 2 and I am forever grateful for his confidence and reassurance about that decision.
I never thought in a million years I would get accepted into Stanford, Harvard, and Wharton. Without Tyler’s help, I know I would not have been in this position and highly recommend his services for anyone else looking for a friend, mentor, and consultant for their b-school application journey.
I did a lot of research when I decided to hire a consultant. I created a spreadsheet and talked to my top ten choices. Tyler stood out immediately because of his rich experiences and genuine interest in my stories. I am extremely pleased that I went with Tyler, and I have recommended him to many friends. You can see from how carefully he reviews your work that he is dedicated to helping you enhance every element of your application, no matter what it takes. I learned so much from him about storytelling and writing. My boss at the time even said to me: “Your writing has improved so much. Are you taking a writing class?” Another thing I appreciated about Tyler was his flexibility. My parents were visiting from overseas, so I had to squeeze a lot of things at the beginning so that I could travel with them. Tyler accommodated my tricky schedule with full understanding. In summary, I am grateful I worked with Tyler so much that I took the time to write him this review when I am about to graduate from Kellogg in one month!
As I worked with Tyler over the last year, he became more than just an admissions consultant – he was truly a mentor, life coach, and thought partner to me. From the beginning, Tyler took a genuine interest in me and my goals, and in the process, helped me to discover my own story, what I had to offer, and where I wanted to take my career. This journey of self-discovery, guided by Tyler, was honestly worth more than the acceptances I’ve received (although those were pretty great too – Wharton, Chicago, Columbia, and Yale!). Tyler’s process is a perfected art and science, and I cannot recommend him highly enough!
I cannot say enough positive about Court. I spoke with a number of MBA admissions coaches, but the second I spoke with Court I knew he was the right fit. His philosophy is all about authenticity and ensuring what YOU, as the candidate, are deeply passionate about comes across in your application. That means going beyond a laundry list of accomplishments & awards, or writing about how you’re the greatest leader since Napoleon. Court helps you dig deep – get beyond the facade of your profile and communicate what drives your passions.
I can honestly say that I don’t think I would have been as successful of an MBA candidate without Court. He took the time and effort to connect with me on a fundamental level and leverage that understanding to guide a successful application. It’s clear that he not only cares deeply about what he does but also deeply about you as an individual.
The MBA admissions process can be daunting. It’s easy to feel self-conscious or inadequate when putting together your essays, especially when so much reflection is involved. Court helped me see myself through someone else’s eyes, and feel genuinely proud about my past experience.
I do not hesitate to recommend Court unequivocally to anyone looking for an MBA Admissions coach.
Tyler is superb, a true pleasure to work with. I rate him a 10/10, and I feel that I have a high bar. Reading his previous reviews, I would echo a few themes: he is a true expert in his field, he will devote a great deal of time to your application (i.e., you will absolutely get your “money’s worth”), and he could easily moonlight as a therapist or life coach.
A few additional notes that would have been salient to me as I was selecting a consultant: -Tyler is an excellent, excellent writer -Tyler’s process is efficient and not at all over-engineered -Your finished product will be truthful. Tyler helped me put my best foot forward while being 100% authentic to myself -Your work with Tyler will continue to be helpful long after the admissions process is over. Tyler’s guidance has permanently shaped how I present my personal narrative
As someone who aspires to make a career in client service, I have a great deal to learn from Tyler. I would strongly encourage you to work with him.
I cannot recommend Tyler highly enough. I began my application process fairly late (mid-November for second round applications), and quickly interviewed a number of consultants. Tyler’s reputation, but also his punctuality, and genuine interest in my story, stood out. I went with Tyler, as he made me feel comfortable and confident from the start even though I was working against the odds from a timing perspective in one of the toughest application cycles. I applied to HBS, Wharton, and Columbia, and would have been happy with any of them. With Tyler’s help, I was able to gain acceptances to all three programs.
We began by digging into the micro-components of what would become my application strategy. Tyler was truly a thought partner throughout this process, raising new ideas, and pushing me to reframe some of the ideas that I came to the table with. Tyler was genuinely interested in understanding me as a person, and what my goals were, which was reflected in the ideas he helped me generate. He was always willing to “dive down the rabbit hole” with me on my essay concepts, but also was transparent but respectful when he thought I was going down a path that would result in wasted precious time. Tyler made himself very accessible throughout the process and even hopped on an 11 pm Zoom with me the night before I submitted my applications. Tyler was equally helpful when prepping for interviews.
In short, Tyler served as an honest, supportive mentor throughout the process. He is an excellent consultant, but also a good person that clearly cares about his clients. I cannot recommend Tyler highly enough.
Tyler’s high-touch support, thorough processes, and genuine kindness make him best in the business!
I worked with Tyler last summer/fall and would recommend him to anyone considering an admissions coach/consultant. Not only does he offer high-touch support and a thorough process to help create a high-quality application, but he is also genuinely kind and thoughtful. From day one, Tyler was available and deeply involved in helping me with my applications. During our initial intro call, he talked for well past our allotted 30 minutes to really get to know me and continued to be available whenever I needed help or a sounding board. More than just being available, however, Tyler has a great process for helping you think through your own story to craft a great application. While certainly helpful for its intended purpose, these exercises also provide value to general career planning and life outside of work. Throughout all his support, Tyler is also kind and thoughtful. With the amount of time spent discussing background and plans, his kindness and thoughtfulness helped me refine my story and left a lasting impact. In the end, I was admitted to two of my top choices (Darden and HBS ) but I would still recommend Tyler the same even if I hadn’t been.
