A little background on my profile – 3.0 GPA from an average international university with 3 years experience in the world of finance (middle-office for a trading desk). I first connected with Katy 5 years ago via a free consultation shortly after graduating from college and taking my GMAT. During that hour consultation, we discussed the MBA application process and she gave me advice on how to enhance my application over the next several years. I’m an Indian engineer, working in my family business in the manufacturing sector. My sister had worked with Jessica a few years ago and recommended that I speak with her when I decided that I wanted to go to Business School. Harshad helped me get through what ended up being a two-year process of applying for an MBA and I would not have got into an M7 school without him. I got the start to finish package, and deferred the first year due to having to retake the GMAT, and honestly, due to not feeling professionally or personally prepared. When I reconnected with Harshad last year to apply in R2, he was so encouraging by mentioning that he could tell that I had matured. During our first session, which ended up lasting three hours, I was able to unload everything that had happened in the past couple years and we were able to get a handle on the best areas of my application (short of essays and recommendations) and the areas that would require the most attention. I had the pleasure of working with Nisha on two of my Round 1 Applications and could not recommend her services anymore. From the very start of the engagement, I could tell that Nisha had a deep understanding of the programs I was applying to and how I should best position my story in order to stand out to their Admissions Committees. This was critical in both the resume and essay development as she knew which qualities were the most important to display in each. Nisha also had a remarkable turnaround time for any feedback. Harold is a consultant that you cannot afford not to use if you are serious about getting into a good MBA or EMBA program. I applied one month before the dateline for round 2 of an EMBA program with Sloan. If not for Harold’s experience and insightful knowledge of the admissions process I will not have had the right strategy and approach to complete my admissions application to get into the program. Harold got me very focus on what I needed to do on my application and we planned each material I had to submit carefully so that I’m able to differentiate myself from the other applicants to the admissions committee.

Harold is also very good with clients living in a different time zone. I work in Asia and he was able to fit my schedule to provide timely reviews and advice on my application and anything I wanted to talk or know about. I highly recommend him to anyone, especially those in Asia, looking at a patient, knowledgeable, and a steady hand to work with on your admissions and interview process.

I had already written the first drafts of my essays, but I wanted some professional help to edit them. I turned to Susan Kaplan, whose advice was incredibly insightful and absolutely instrumental in ultimately achieving success. She worked with me to perfect my writing while maintaining my own voice and ideas. This was what I was most impressed by with Susan – she was able to help me overhaul my essays while preserving my own identity within the writing. I also leaned on Susan for help when prepping for one of my first interviews, and her advice there was equally insightful.

I was ultimately accepted to 3 of the 4 schools Susan assisted me with, including Kellogg, Wharton, and Haas. Without Susan’s help, I do not believe I could have possibly achieved these same results. I’d strongly recommend her to anyone looking for help throughout the application process.

I was referred to Harold by a friend and mainly needed help with my essays. As a non-native English speaker and someone better with numbers than words, essay writing has never been my strong suit. Luckily, I found Harold. Harold is very efficient and well-organized, which makes him a great pleasure to work with. All his suggestions and comments were direct and to-the-point. He was also very motivating. I knew exactly which schools I wanted to attend and didn’t want to apply to ‘safe schools’ simply for the sake of it. I decided to apply for a business school last September. After some basic research, it was apparent that I needed a consultant to guide me through the intricacies of the process. There is a myriad of consultants online, and I’ve spent some time reading through their resumes on P&Q and GMAT Club.

At first, I hired a “highly-reviewed” company that turned out to be a money pumping machine (I can give you more details if you’d like). After spending some time with them, I decided to go a different route. That’s when I talked to Nisha.

Why I liked Nisha:
1. We had a 30-minutes no-charge fit call.
This was the call that allowed us to “feel” each other’s communication style and see if we could work together. It was a huge advantage, in my opinion, because I’m a very opinionated person and I don’t easily get along with just anyone. My timeline was very short and needed to find the match ASAP (the first company wasn’t offering fit calls).
2. Nisha asked me the right questions.
During that call, Nisha was immediately providing value by asking the right questions and setting my thought process in the right direction. The first company charged me $425 and wasted that hour completely, we had to re-do the discovery process one more time afterward (with charges applied, of course).
3. Nisha delivered on time and went beyond my expectations.
When we started working together, we set up the objectives, deliverables, and timelines. I never felt like we lacked progress because the communication was constant, concise, and clear. The other consultant took precisely 47 hours between our communications. Regardless of whether it was a 5-second or a 30-minute answer.

To summarize:
Your consultant will not be doing things for you. You will have to work hard as well. But it is much easier to be putting in the work when your knowledgeable coach is guiding you carefully along the way. Nisha certainly was that coach for me.

Jessica must be one of the best admissions consultants out there. I came to her after an unsuccessful application process, and over the course of the ensuing year, she helped me to drastically improve my admissions story and my application materials to tell it.

Jessica works as a consultant full-time, which I strongly recommend over part-time consultants. I decided to apply to business school in late December, having not taken any tests, started any applications nor reached out to any recommenders. I have been out of college for 10 years and trying to get into one of the top business schools in the world seemed like a VERY daunting challenge. She gave EXCELLENT advice, gave me beyond helpful edits on the first few drafts of my essays, and pushed me to do some online classes and other programs/ projects to make up for some of the weaknesses I had in my application. I was apprehensive about using a consultant to apply for MBA programs, and at first, I felt it was a lot of money when I was unlikely to get into the schools I was applying for. She will also make sure your answers are succinct and your grammar is correct, however, at the end of the day, your essays will still be authentically yours, not some cookie-cutter essay written by a consultant who is churning out a ton every cycle.

Once I received interview invites, Katy went into full swing organizing my interview prep. I had a mock interview with her for HBS and a group mock TBD for Wharton with others working with mbaMission on their applications. Both experiences really highlighted my strengths and what I needed to work on, and how to approach this before the interview.

I was admitted to all 3 schools, with a large scholarship at Wharton, and have decided to matriculate at HBS next autumn. Katy was there every step of the way, giving me the confidence that I was good enough to attend any of these top schools, and pushing me to tell the stories that sometimes were difficult for me to articulate to an outside audience. Devi is amazing. In our 3 sessions, Devi homed in on exactly what the HBS admission committee wanted to investigate in my interview and helped me create a tone and brand that rung through my HBS interview. Devi correctly assessed that Harvard would want to dive deep into my knowledge, viewpoints, and expertise on the function I have been in for the past 5 years. When the HBS interviewer grilled me for 10-15 minutes on this exact topic, I felt completely ready to answer their questions.

Additionally, Devi helped me hone the persona that I brought into the interview. My demeanor in the interview room was heavily colored by my coaching with Devi, and I felt that it resonated incredibly well with my interviewer since it fit in so well with my story.

Devi is also a great coach. She pumped me up and helped give me the confidence that I could walk into the interview, tell my story, and know that I gave the admissions committee a great picture of who I am and what I can contribute to the HBS classroom.

Her services are pricey but well worth it if you have the funding. I think her coaching played a big role in me landing a “Yes” from HBS and would recommend her to any of my peers.

I found Harold via referral. I was mostly looking for help with my essay, as well as polishing off a few other areas of my application. Harold delivered on everything I hoped for and more.

After giving him what I wanted to get out of an MBA, he told me what my realistic chances were for getting into some of the programs I was looking at. He even recommended a new program that I hadn’t thought of and ultimately became the program I decided to go with.

I want to start off by saying not only is Kate the best consultant available, but also a great person. She coached me on every detail of the application, including all of my one-off questions. I valued all of the help that she provided on my target schools. Her knowledge of this space put me in a position to succeed and I knew that she knew what she was doing.

End of the day, we felt comfortable working together, and without hesitation, I would recommend an adviser if you are seeking a top 10 school, or even top 15 depending on the strength of your candidacy. All in all, as someone without family connections, or an IB or consulting background, I had an uphill battle that Kate helped me overcome.

I did the Start-to-Finish Package for two schools with Susan, Tuck, and Yale. I also applied to HBS, Ross, and Foster on my own. Coming from a non-traditional background I was daunted by the MBA world and wanted to be sure I was able to tell my story authentically, but in a manner that would resonate with MBA admissions committees. Ultimately, I was admitted to Tuck and waitlisted at Yale. I also receive admission to Ross with a full-tuition scholarship and Foster with a moderate scholarship. While Susan and I only worked together on Tuck and Yale I know without a doubt that my other applications also benefited from our work together. I would 100% recommend working with Susan.

Susan is often characterized as “tough”. I don’t believe this to be a completely accurate characterization. Susan was relentless at making sure I put my best foot forward, while also being a deeply empathetic and supportive colleague. The MBA admissions process is tough and requires you put in the work, Susan makes sure you do it. She helps you to find your story and paint a clear picture of who you are and what you bring to the school. There were times when I got frustrated because I thought I was addressing a comment, but she would say I hadn’t gotten it yet. This can feel tough, but it was absolutely essential in pushing me to be as effective as possible in my essays. She knows what it takes to succeed and was invested in my success.

I deeply appreciated all the time Susan put into to get to know me during the brainstorming process and beyond. During the brainstorming, Susan identified themes that I hadn’t thought of based on the information I sent her about my experiences. She was spot on and I was surprised how someone I barely knew could so quickly get at the heart of who I am. Additionally, after writing a few drafts of my first essay I didn’t feel fully comfortable with the direction. We spoke about it at length and finally, it clicked for both of us what the thesis of the essay really should be. This extra time she spent to make sure I got my message just right was incredibly helpful and it was also the moment I knew Susan would keep working on a problem as long as it took to get it right.

My applications also required video components, which I was originally terrified of doing. Susan showed me how to master them with ease and after our practice sessions, I felt completely calm and prepared.

Devi is one of the most incredible people I have encountered. She, not only fully prepared me for the HBS interview, she transformed the way in which I convey my story. There was not a single question the HBS interviewer asked, that Devi and I had not prepped for. I saw the tremendous lasting impact of Devi while on my Pre-MBA internship interviews. Quick background: I am a 35 years old candidate with a traditional work experience (finance/investment). I first applied to B-schools about 5 years ago using a “consultant” who only worked with me on the essays. I applied to HBS, Stanford, Wharton and UC Berkeley. Dinged from ALL of them without an interview! I had a low GMAT (620) and my essays (in hindsight) were weak. I attempted the GMAT multiple times without success, so I decided to sleep on it for few years.

This time around, I did an extensive research on consultants, including various interview calls. Some of them are highly ranked with extensive experience. Many of those highly-ranked consultants tried to persuade me to only apply to top 30 schools, international schools (outside of US) or executive MBA. It was obvious they cared about their “success rate”. Harold was completely different! From the first call, he was very honest about my profile, but also very supportive. I still remember his words: “if it is a dream school, then we are applying to it, but we also need to explore other schools”. My initial list was Stanford, UC Berkeley, MIT and Yale. We also added Duke, but pushed Yale for later given the timeline. And guess what? I Got interviews from 3 of 4 schools and got accepted to two schools. I slightly improved my GMAT to 650, but decided to try the GRE. I got around 315 in the GRE (with 165 in quant), so Harold recommended I only submit my GRE score, which I did.

It was July 2019 when I started thinking about getting an MBA. I didn’t even know what GMAT was back then.
