As an international student applying to US MBA programs, the whole process a bit of a black box. No one teaches you about it and you aren’t exposed often to alumni that can explain the intricacies of applying.

I met Harold in August. I was accepted into HBS in March. This is a LONG period of time and it is a lonely journey. I 100% would not have achieved this objective without him.

Harshad was a difference maker in my application experience! I went in to the process not knowing much about the programs I was applying to or about how the process worked in general. Devi was instrumental in me getting into HBS (along with MIT). The process is very involved and she knows your background inside and out. She does a great job of helping you surface examples to use in your application that you may overlook. The key part here is you as a client need to put in a lot of work to document all your experiences, so that she is able to help you form your story. What I liked about the experience is you know when you are ‘done’. Instead of rehashing the same parts of the application, she helps you move on to other schools and gives you the confidence to submit what you have.

I had friends who took much longer and were more stressed while honing their application, while I was able to have a full-time job, study for the GRE, and still apply for the MBA within 4 months. This is because of how efficient Devi is.

She does have a very direct manner and offers a lot of constructive criticism. You need to be receptive to that and not take it personally if she is blunt with the state of your application. This is what helped elevate my package because I knew she had my best interest at heart. Anecdotally, I attended a Wharton Mock hosted by other consultants at the same firm, and felt that though they were very nice in praising my performance, they weren’t as direct about what I could do better which is what I needed. That experience definitely helped me realize how Devi’s approach yields successful results.

Regarding interviews, she is very helpful with helping you structure your answers and simulating questions you could be asked. She will tell you how to better answer a question so that it is direct and to the point while also ensuring your are not rambling, speaking too quickly, or going off on a tangent. However, she does get quite busy during the month of interviews. I wasn’t able to use all my interview hours because she was fully booked. If I had planned in advance and gotten more tips before the first mock, I would have been able to use that time more effectively. That being said, the couple sessions I had were pivotal in me performing well in my interview.

I feel that so many qualified people don’t get in because they don’t know how to market themselves. Devi is able to bring the best traits within you to highlight. Overall, recommend using Devi if you are looking at top MBA programs!

Michael was excellent to work with! He was extremely helpful throughout the process, working with me to better understand my Post MBA goals and how to articulate them meaningfully to admissions. It can be very challenging to reflect on short and long term goals, but Michael was there to eagerly coach me along the way. He also offered thorough feedback throughout the application process and has a real knack for identifying ways to make essays more concise. When it comes to communication, Michael was very responsive to ensure all my questions were answered quickly.

I got into my dream school — Michigan Ross — and I truly owe a huge part of that to Gavriella.

From the very beginning, I wasn’t sure I would be a strong enough candidate. Coming from a very competitive applicant pool, I had a lot of self-doubt. But Gavriella saw something in me that I couldn’t always see in myself. I don’t think I would have been able to secure an admit to the MIT Sloan Fellows program if it hadn’t been for Harshad. Devi is a rockstar! She is 100% the reason why I aced my interview and ultimately got into HBS. She has years of experience and knew exactly where I was lacking during the mock interviews. I highly recommend that you purchase at least two sessions so you can practice in between and redo the mock interview again. For me specifically, Devi was crucial in addressing four key points.

Firstly, to slow down and not feel the need to rush through your answers. Having read all the misinformation online, I was convinced that the interview would be a rapid fire format and basically rushed through all my answers. Devi was instrumental in explaining that the interviewer would not know the difference between a 1 min and 2 min answer. They would only know the difference between a good and a bad answer.

Secondly, she taught me to not take any energy from the interviewer’s expressions. During my first mock with Devi, I was constantly changing my answers based on her facial expressions, which impacted my delivery. During the actual interview, I was able to maintain composure no matter what kind of reactions I was seeing.

Thirdly, how to structure answers. We practiced several interview answers until it began to sound more coherent and smoother flowing. This was vital as I was always falling into the trap of giving a structured answer and being unable to improvise on the fly previously.

Lastly, she actually uncovered new examples of leadership, etc. from my resume, which I had previously not considered. I believe this was the vital bit of difference as I was too focused on quantitative examples given my engineering background.

All in all, if you get an interview invite from HBS, I highly recommend you take at least 2 sessions with Devi to prepare and put your best foot forward.

I have a rather unconventional career path, starting off as a fresh grad founder, after exiting from my venture, transitioning into tech industry in Product & Operations. Because of my background, when I applied, I already had 7-8 years of experience. I remembered during my first informational chat with Katy. I was shocked the amount of information she was willing to share in the call (because I haven’t committed to the consulting package). Later on, she sent me a super detailed email, articulating her thoughts on how I can portray my personal story in the “What Matters most to you” essay.
That led me to decide to work with her for my application. The first time I applied (2023-2024 cycle), I actually didn’t get to work with Katy as she was already at full capacity. I ended up getting rejections from HSW. In the 2024-2025 cycle, I worked with Katy on my R2 application. I had a very late start, from late November to early Jan, I had lots of back and forth essay revisions with Katy, especially during the last 2-3 weeks. Her turnaround time was almost at 1 day. During the interview phases, she provided lots of resources. In fact, the Sloan interview, I had almost 100% of the same questions from the mock I did with her. Her previous experience in Admission is a major differentiator, really enabling us to craft the optimal storyline to convey my personal story to the readers.

In short, I’d recommend
1. Purchase the package early because she might not have a spot for you (I did it in late Nov for R2, which is really bad value)
2. Create the drafts first and don’t overindex on perfecting outlines. Me and Katy work optimally when she sees all of my writings and ideas, then she can pick out the interesting parts and weave them together. to some extent, bombard her with your life stories, and she will carve a path with you.

Best of luck to you all, I am not gonna lie, it can certainly feel like a painful process, hang in there, eyes on the prize!

I cannot recommend Susan enough—if you’re looking for an MBA consultant, she’s truly the best! After several free consultations with other consultants (one during which the consultant made me cry), I immediately connected with Susan during our first conversation and knew she was “the one.” I came in unsure of how to tell my story, and within 10 minutes, she helped me craft a compelling narrative about why I was pursuing my MBA.

It’s a difficult task to be able to summarize an entire business school application process into a single testimonial; it’s an even more challenging task to distill a person’s entire breadth of personal and professional experiences into a series of compelling essays and short answer questions that sneak in just under a restrictive word limit. Katy was able to masterfully do just that, and then some.

On paper, I come from a very traditional and overrepresented professional background when it comes to business school applicants (investment banking / private equity). But I also had a lot of unique and seemingly unrelated interests and experiences that I, at least, hoped could differentiate me if I could figure out how to actually tell them. That was always my biggest anxiety when setting out to begin my application process: I had a complicated story that risked being “all over the place” and incoherent if told incorrectly. I did introductory meetings with around 10 consultants across a number of firms and none were quite able to see the “real me” behind the traditional background quite like Katy was. I met with Katy twice, but I knew after our first 30-minute intro call that I wanted to work with her. I felt like she was really able to “see” me and my story, which was an immediate weight off of my shoulders.

I won’t shortchange the difficulty of the application process, but Katy really did a wonderful job segmenting it into “digestible” bites to tackle, and she staged it in a way such that I never felt overwhelmed or behind schedule, even with an extremely demanding job. When it was all said and done, I applied to Harvard, Stanford, and Wharton, I was invited to interview at all three, and I was admitted to 2 of the schools and waitlisted at the third. While I am obviously ecstatic with the outcome, before hearing back from the schools I was actually quite calm. I knew that, regardless of what the outcome would be, that I had put my best foot forward. And I knew that, with Katy’s help, I was able to put together an application that I was really happy with and confident in submitting. I am fairly certain that I would have had neither the smooth application process nor the outcome that I did without Katy’s help. For that, I will be forever grateful.

2. The editing. She has a fast turnaround time, even when she is on vacation! When I was waitlisted by Stanford GSB and rejected by HBS in round 1, she offered to look at my round 2 materials for free when she was on vacation during Christmas! I really appreciate it. In addition, she is one of the best writers and very detail-oriented! In some of my documents, she even found that I spelled my boss’s name wrong!

3. The mock interviews. There are so many useful materials on OnTrack, and I loved these. But my absolute favorite material is her own PowerPoint summaries – very detailed instruction, and very useful tips, and I used it as a “bible” for my interviews. I also loved our mock interview sessions and how she help me phrase my answers and tell my stories.

4. Last but not least, she is such a kind and wonderful person! Extremely smart, and deeply cares about her clients. She is a great mentor and friend! It was a long process and I am grateful that I have her as my mentor!

Stepping into MBA applications is DAUNTING, anyone will tell you it is INTIMIDATING, STRESSFUL, and DIFFICULT. Harold made it EASY, APPROACHABLE, and STRESS FREE. Harold knows the MBA admissions game. Having Harold as my partner in this made me feel like I was set out for success in the process from meeting 1 through the last. He provided thoughtful engagement with the material that I provided him, getting materials submitted back to me within 24 hours. As I worked full time for a large bank, Harold would hop on facetimes with me at 6:00 am 3-4 times a week, and for the days I had to be at work early, he would hop on facetimes with me at 11:00 pm just so we could get my essays perfect. Closer to deadlines Harold made sure he was available sometimes meeting with me 2 days in a row just to make sure everything was set. I remember submitting my very first application, Harold stayed on the phone with me at 11:30 pm just to make sure I didn’t miss anything and was comfortable with the process. When I was ready to interview at my target program Georgetown University, Harold prepared me with questions two weeks in advance going over what to say, how long to say it, and much more. The night before I interviewed, Harold set up a facetime just to go over the interview prep one last time, and the day of he called me to check in to see how I was feeling and to give me a pep talk beforehand. Harold was a genuine partner through this whole process, and I highly regard and recommend him. This fall I will attend Georgetown University for my MBA and I 100% could not have done it without Harold. 5 stars is not enough!
