Consultant Bio

Hi, I’m Angela, and I’m a lifelong student of human nature. I’m fascinated by what it means to be human, what unites us, and how we can fulfill our true potential. I also believe that life is supposed to be fun, and therefore, so is work. During my nearly 20-year professional development career, I have helped thousands of people (mostly MBAs) uncover their unique character, values, and professional desires, so that they can shine in any environment, get everything they want in their careers, and have more fun along the way. Working with me means you’ll be more self-aware, more self-confident, and better connected in your community.

After my MBA at Chicago Booth, I did my apprenticeship in business at the Boston Consulting Group (BCG). I was a consultant, and then I shifted to a training and recruiting role: I coached women from top 10 business schools through BCG’s recruiting process and then later to succeed at the firm. Some other cool stuff I have done that I use every day in my work: I’m a trained screenwriter, experiential philosopher (I have a degree from Yale to prove it!), and a lover of Eastern thought, mindfulness, and meditation.

Company Information

OK you’re smart, so you’ve probably read a lot of these. Here’s how we’re the same as some admissions consultants out there: in our elite school packages, we touch every single part of your application for your target schools as many times as we need to until the finished product inspires both you and us. We bring over a decade of expertise to bear, and we do all of this on a predictable timeline. Much more interesting, though, is what makes Career Protocol different. We’re not really consultants. We’re teachers. Career Protocol is a Professional Development Firm.

We think the MBA application process is a golden opportunity to uplevel your professional profile and executive skillset BEFORE you take the leap into the MBA. So instead of simply editing your essays, we use the MBA application as a training ground for new capabilities that will last you a lifetime.

Menu of Services and Associated Costs

Think of the Irresistible MBA Application Package (as we call it) as a nearly year-long course in executive-level self-awareness, communication, and relationship building skills tailored to your needs and experiences. We work with you on every aspect of the MBA application not only to maximize your chances of success but also to uplevel your executive skillset in the process. Your Career Protocol Instructor will teach you how to explore your values, tell epic stories, and build genuine relationships with your fellow humans in everything you do (yes, even when you’re just writing an MBA application!) so that you can have the impact you want to have in your career. Imagine how empowered you’ll feel the first day of class knowing that you used the whole year prior to your MBA building key leadership skills with an experienced teacher by your side.

If you want someone to edit your essays, work with friends and family. If you want to transform your ability to stand out for the rest of your career as the bright shiny unicorn* you are, work with us.

*We mean unicorn in the one-of-a-kind-unique sense, not in the instagrammy** rainbow sense.

** We do like instagrammy rainbow unicorns, tho. Especially the cupcake kind.

The fun doesn’t stop. We’ve got…

  • The Interview Hero Coaching Program
  • YOMO: You Only MBA Once (AKA Your Guide to Getting Your Best MBA Internship), and
  • How to Be the Smartest Person in the Room (AKA The Consulting Case Interview Hero Program)

These are all affordable group coaching programs to help you target and get the internship and post-MBA job you really want, while – of course – building your professional skillset every step of the way.

  • Angela brings highly effective resources and refreshing sense of humor to MBA app process
    2 years ago
Angela has provided by far the best resources I've come across in my MBA application journey. Her You Discovery Toolkit launched me into a new way of thinking about the skills and strengths I should put forward in my applications, and her Resume guidance has completely transformed the way I write a resume. She inspires a new way of storytelling that is both honest and empowered, and provides super practical tips for weaving this story into every component of the MBA app process. Angela is truly passionate in helping others to succeed - as evidenced by the fact she regularly volunteers her time (at 2am, no less) to lead Webinars for Forte Forum's MBALaunch program. Beyond this passion, Angela brings a super refreshing sense of ...

  • YOMO, a real self-disovery tour!
I decided to take YOMO from CareerProtocol because, as a potential career switcher I did not know where to start and I thought the summer was a good time to get prepared for the recruiting process. I got much more than I asked for! Through a structured set of videos, assignments and most importantly, direct coaching with Angela, the course helps you discover and analyze your passions and interests, and fix/improve/or totally rework the basic tools you'll need to do this i.e. networking strategies, CV, linkedin, career services insights. You will also hear more about the recruiting and networking process from an experienced insider and get to meet former and current MBAs and learn about their own experiences. It may sound cheesy but personally, the ...

  • Take YOMO and unleash your inner MBA Rockstar Unicorn!
Angela is a career consulting wizard. In YOMO, Angela gets you to answer those tough, soul-searching questions you'd rather avoid (e.g. what do you want to achieve in life? what are your greatest strengths? how do you effectively communicate who you are to a recruiter?) through approachable exercises, concise and engaging presentations, and a great sense of humor. Each week consists of a webinar, video lessons, downloadable reading materials, and a few homework items (that pre-MBAs should be doing anyway!) Participants also get the opportunity to have Angela's real-time undivided attention in multiple coaching sessions during the course. I really appreciated her recruiting templates and guides for polishing resumes and LinkedIn profiles, which removed a lot of guesswork. Angela's guidance definitely boosted my confidence regarding my goals ...

  • M7: from dream to reality, thanks to Angela!
Working with Angela has been an invaluable introspective journey and a transformational experience, which culminated with the admission to Chicago Booth – my dream MBA program. Thinking back six months ago, I’m convinced that hiring Angela has been a great decision and without her probably I would have not been accepted into any top MBA program. After my application to Harvard was rejected, I decided I needed some help if I was going to succeed. I felt overwhelmed by the amount of information available on the internet. Angela played a pivotal role in three fundamental areas: process guidance, storytelling, and stress management. First, Angela has been my trusted guide throughout the process. Given the tremendous amount of disorganized “noise” around MBA application processes (e.g. blogs, forums, websites, ...

  • YOMO - awesome experience that benefits my career in the long term
    2 years ago
I'm considering applying for MBA in the next few years and have found YOMO to be really helpful in finding out what to expect from an MBA program and prepare yourself to make clear your career goals and get what to you want out of an MBA program. The YOMO workshop also provides very handy tools and instructions such as MBA Resume Protocol, The LinkedIn Profile Protocol, The networking resources, Company Research Template, etc. that could be directly used for job search. As an MBA currently in process of job searching, I have found all of those resources to be really helpful.

  • YOMO Class series
I took Angela's YOMO course to kick start my recruitment strategy before I start my MBA this fall at Kellogg. At first I was hesitant to spend the money since I'll be broke over the next two years in school but I am SO glad I took the course! There are 5 webinars and over 5 hours of group coaching from Angela where you work on both intangible things like your values and your career wishlist and tangible things like your resume and networking skills (p.s ask her to help you with your elevator pitch :P) The course also gives you access to her books and reading material which I plan to reread as I go through recruitment. It was so helpful to have a structured approach ...

Any MBA admit who is even the slightest bit nervous about starting the next chapter in their career journey and wants to get a head start on recruiting needs to take Angela's YOMO course! The course combines collaborative learning and weekly webinars with incredible guest speakers from a wide variety of industries and functional areas. In addition, the numerous guides that Angela created are both engaging and truly helped me better understand what I want to achieve out of my MBA program. I look forward to joining another one of Angela's courses in the near future :)

  • Applying to Bschool can be fun and manageable!
Angela is wicked smart, not to mention a pleasure to listen to. The resources she has provided, such as a the MBA Resume Protocol and the Discovery You Toolkit were instrumental in helping me reflect on my professional accomplishments in business-school friendly terms, and think deeply about how my experiences have shaped why I want to go to business school and what i hope to gain from it. She makes the application process manageable and fun, and helps take out some of the mystery of the adcom.

  • Pre-MBA Journey
Angela was a great coach during the Forte MBA Launch program. I am really grateful they choose her as one of our coaches. She provided useful content. I especially liked the resumé webinar we had. Overall, it was all useful including learning how to create my story. Therefore, I recommend her services to people needing help with their MBA application process.

  • Most helpful consultant!
I was lucky enough to get Angela’s help though the Forte Foundation MBA launch and she was by far the best constultant the program partnered with. The best things about Angela is how personable she is and how truly excited she is to be helping everyone that she works with. Even though I was viewing Angela’s presentations online, you could feel her energy though the webinars. Angela’s help on tailoring your resume for business schools was incredible. She gave us 3 tests to run our bullet points by to make sure that the way we described what we did at work had the most impact. Breaking it down this way helped me best explain the impact I had on my company and not just list the ...
