With nearly ten years of experience personally advising hundreds of applicants internationally, I have made it my life’s work to know everything there is to know about M7 B-School admissions. I only work with 25-30 applicants per year to ensure that you receive the personal attention you deserve for such a major undertaking in your life. Beyond MBA and graduate school admissions, I am also the founder and CEO of Tesla Corp., an electric car manuf…ok, yeah, no, that’s simply not true. However, adding (honest, always honest) flourish to otherwise bland essays is a hallmark of my consultative style, helping to distinguish applicants whose traditional profiles might benefit from more of their personality!
I founded Twainstein with one mission in mind: To restore peace of mind (and more admit letters) to anxious MBA/graduate school applicants. Twainstein was conceived as a boutique firm to help MBA school applicants gain admission to their dream schools by walking them through every phase of the 20-week process, from branding strategy, to school selection, to fine-tuning essays, overhauling resumes and proper interview preparation. In addition to their excellent results, our clients write testimonials emphasizing their overall experience with us–something we are very proud of.

It was a real pleasure working with Avi throughout my entire MBA application journey. From GMAT studying to essay strategy and execution, Avi offered me personalized support that truly made a difference in my applications. What I loved most about our collaboration was how deep Avi dug to get to know me as not only an MBA applicant, but more importantly, as a human being. He challenged me to reflect on both my personal and professional experiences in a meaningful way, which motivated me to put forth applications that reflected the most authentic version of myself. He was extremely attentive and communicative throughout the entire process, and having an experienced consultant there to hold me accountable helped me hit my deadlines and avoid unnecessary stress leading up to application submission. Our back-and-forth collaboration on the application essays really helped me be creative with my writing while still telling an impactful story that resonated with the various admissions committees. After being waitlisted at several schools, Avi continued to support me and offered me great advice that ultimately helped get me off the waitlist and into my dream school (Berkeley Haas). I would highly recommend working with Avi and Twainstein!
My work with Avi was not just helpful in regards to applying to grad school but helped me get a better understanding of my own motivations and individual value proposition. Avi spends a lot of time getting to know his clients before ever starting an essay, which is paramount to being able to put together an application that encapsulates the full scope of the applicant with such tight word restrictions. Avi is attentive, always available and thoughtful with his responses. Avi puts together a program that is truly individualized to each client.
After working with Avi to improve my GMAT score from a 590 to a 710, I decided he was the best person to help me with my applications as well. Avi helped me decide which schools I should apply for based on my GMAT score, GPA, work and other experience. His approach was not cookie-cutter at all and really catered to my application. He helped craft my story while hitting key themes and values depending on the school. First, Avi got to know me on a personal level. Using the information I was comfortable sharing, Avi could then make meaningful edits and suggestions to my essays and applications. For each application (I did 3), Avi gave me homework to research the school’s values. He then talked through each one with me and came up with an outline for every essay topic, which covered the main points and possible directions I could take. After about 3-4 drafts of red-line editing, I had a final polished essay – one that read so nicely and matched my sense of humor. Avi was very detailed oriented. He went through each question/answer, my letters of recommendation, resume, and worked especially hard on my essays. To be honest, I don’t even remember which package (how many essay drafts, etc.) I bought with him, but that never mattered because Avi genuinely cared about getting me into my top school and put in so much time that he really exceeded my expectations. When I got an interview with UCLA, he coached me by helping craft answers to common interview questions and doing multiple mock interviews. The result of my applications: I got denied at one (reach school), waitlisted at another, and I GOT IN to UCLA Anderson (my top school). In my opinion, Avi gave me the best fighting chance to get into my schools, and it paid off in the end.
