Consultant Bio

Every year, even highly qualified professionals do not get admitted to their top choices for business school. To stand out among the sea of MBA candidates, your application needs to grab the evaluator’s attention and tell a compelling story. Your story. Storytelling has been a significant part of Jennifer’s professional life despite choosing to study engineering instead of journalism in college. In later marketing, consulting, and startup co-founder roles, she has crafted messages ranging from beauty care products to tech venture fundraising efforts. However, Jennifer especially enjoys helping people to articulate individual stories and connect the dots among their unique backgrounds, significant experiences, strengths and goals. A Stanford GSB alum, she also spent four years on the GSB Admissions team evaluating applications. It was frustrating to read promising but underdeveloped applications or see solid past performances overshadowed by lackluster essays. She prefers to bring a critical eye to the application before it is submitted. Jennifer believes in a candid, conversational coaching style. With thoughtful Q&A, she will help you to identify your strongest personal story elements and connect with evaluators at every step in the application process.

A Chicago-area native, Jennifer studied chemical engineering at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign before attending the Stanford GSB and settling in the Bay Area. She enjoys teaching art classes in local elementary schools, progressing through the Arthur Murray ballroom dance program (Bronze 3!), and becoming better at kayaking and fly fishing.

  • Highly Recommend Jennifer for Stanford!
Jennifer is extremely knowledgable and insightful in helping me with my Stanford application essays! She did an amazing job in getting to know me and helped me craft a story that I would not have gotten to on my own. Although I did not get accepted to Stanford, the experience was amazing and I have no regrets in working with Jennifer. I will definitely recommend her to my friends and anyone looking to apply to Stanford!

Jennifer was instrumental in completing my MBA applications. I worked with her through the flexible hourly package, and it was well worth it. As a GSB Alum and a former member of the GSB admissions team, Jennifer provided valuable insight throughout the entire process – from helping me craft my ‘why?’ to sharing comments on my essays and even to answering my one-off questions. With Jennifer's guidance and assistance, I was ultimately able to submit strong applications to five of the top ten schools within Round 1. I would definitely recommend Jennifer and Veritas Prep as a company. You won’t regret it!

Jennifer was amazing to work with. She provided the exact insight and feedback that I was looking for throughout my application process. At the beginning of the process, she put a lot of focus on getting to know me and identifying aspects of my life that make me stand out as an applicant. Using that, she was able to provide ideas for what I could focus on in my essays. Then, as I wrote my essays, Jennifer provided iterative feedback to further refine the essays and hit items that admissions tend to look for. She also provided the same iterative feedback for other parts of my applications and answered pretty much every question that I threw at her. Jennifer was respectful of my time and ...

  • Jennifer is the best

Applying for an MBA is an extremely nerve-wracking process - I had very little business background and even less insight into the "behind-the-curtain" admissions process. Although I was satisfied with the essays I had originally written, Jennifer took the time to get to know me and helped me better probe both my desires for pursuing business and reflect on the careful nuances of language and presentation that would help pique business schools' interest. The essays I wrote with her help were significantly more expressive and effective at communicating my story. Drawing from her experience as a member of the Stanford Admissions Committee, she offered a complete understanding of the admissions process that made the application process much less intimidating and more easily manageable. Most importantly, ...

  • So Good!
I was working on my applications and was having a really hard time drafting responses to HBS’ and GSB’s ambiguous prompts. Deadlines were rapidly approaching and I was starting to get anxious and even considered putting my applications off until round 2. I set up 30min consultations with 3 different agencies and Veritas Prep sold me with their flexible hourly package and experienced consultants. I worked with Jennifer who was an ad-com at Stanford and WOW! After just a 1 hour call, it seemed like she knew me extremely well and she was able to perfectly summarize my life and experiences in concise essay outlines. We both worked diligently over the next few weeks iterating on drafts and I was able to not only submit ...

I worked with Jennifer through the comprehensive school package at Veritas and could not have asked for a better consultant. She brings a lot of admissions experience and is very honest in how admissions committees will view your application and how to best present your story. Jennifer takes the time to get to know you early in the process, which is critical to helping you bring out the best version of yourself in the application. She worked tirelessly through many iterations to help perfect all components of the application from essays, letter of recommendation prep packages, resume and short answer responses, and advised me on other one-off questions throughout the process. For the essays in particular, her comments were specific, insightful and pushed me to ...

  • Jennifer Is Incredible. Absolutely Incredible.

Jennifer is Different. Strongly Recommend. Jennifer is unlike any consultant you will ever work with. Jennifer began by investing in the relationship; she got to know me on a personal level. Jennifer carefully pointed details that I had left out of my application that made me unique. She patiently combed through my drafts and made recommendations that not only reflect her knowledge of admissions, (she was a Stanford MBA admissions officer for 5 years) but also showed how well she knew me as an individual. Jennifer has a gift to help you tell your story in a meaningful way that you never could have come up with on your own. Jennifer is also honest. She was bold enough to recommend that I scrap full essays and ...

Jennifer was amazing to work with. She was very positive throughout the entire 2-month process which I appreciated as the application process is very stressful! Jennifer used her experience as a Stanford AdComm to break down my essays and help improve the content. Being an iterative process, Jennifer was respectful of my time and made sure to provide a deadline for her revisions, and she always hit them! Most of the time early! I'd recommend Jennifer to anyone who is applying (or even thinking of applying!) to school. 5/5!

  • Jennifer Foster Is The Best

Working with Jennifer Foster as your MBA consultant will be everything you hope for and more. Although I’m tempted to follow this statement with a chain of well-deserved glorifying adjectives, I ask that you trust me on this one; instead, let’s follow with what Jennifer taught me – Very Specific Examples. Versed in each MBA program’s most minute nuances, Jennifer is incredibly professional. We took no shortcuts and started from the bottom up, working strategically – sketching out my entire life story, identifying the parts that would best fit each MBA program, and crafting a separate essay for each. Jennifer was an acute and meticulous editor, as well as a constant source of original insights, topics, themes, and phrasings. She is caring, detail-oriented, and has inexhaustible ...

  • The Best I've Worked With
Jennifer is one of the best consultants I've ever worked with. From the moment we began, she took the time to understand who I was as a human. Her ability to help me deeply introspect helped me discover a deeper part of my identity, and it also became the foundation for how I told my story for each school I applied to. To add to this, Jennifer invested an incredible amount of time and effort reviewing my essays and prompting me to dig deeper where it was needed. She brought out the highest quality of my writing abilities and has also inspired me to continue pursuing writing outside of applications! Deadlines and timelines were a breeze for me to manage because of Jennifer's highly organized ...
