I got my GMAT score at a time when a few of my friends already had admits. I was unclear on which schools I should be applying to in R1/R2 and was deliberating on who would be the right consultant for me. Then comes the savior, Jennifer, who was referred to me by 3 different people ā all of whom saw great success with M7 admits ā in my direct network on the same day. The questions she posed on the intro call to understand my profile, her input on how I should be thinking about my target schools, and her positive vibes made me choose to work with her. She was even considerate of my money and recommended me an alternate way to work with her (at her own expense!!!) so that I could maximize the value for the dollar.
Jennifer does not have a cookie-cutter approach – Considering the limited amount of time with R1 deadlines, she altered her process so that I could submit my best application. Jennifer took the time to know me as a person and got on calls with short notice whenever I lacked clarity on how to approach the essays. With her vast years of experience, she knew what the admissions committee is looking for and gave valuable inputs that are tailored to my profile so that I could differentiate myself from other candidates.
Jennifer is the best storyteller I have come across so far ā My first drafts of most essays were boring and uninteresting. Jennifer transformed those into interesting stories that I couldnāt even have imagined, which I believe played a key role in my admit to an M7 school from a very competitive cohort. She gave consistent directions with each edit on what I could add to the essay to keep the reader engaged.
Jennifer would go to above and beyond for the perfect application ā When I received my first interview invite, we agreed to do two mock interviews. However, I was grossly underprepared, and we ended up doing 5 mocks (!!!) with her sharing valuable feedback at each of those that gave me confidence going into the interview. She is very prompt with her responses and when you sign up with her for school packages, she owns every bit of the application as her own! She has no limit on the number of edits/reviews if that means the essays could get better. With one of the essays, I wasnāt sure how to incorporate a story and left a little info at the end of the first draft. Jennifer researched about it, added information, and weaved it into a coherent essay, which I did not think was even possible.
Overall, I had a great time working with Jennifer and I believe I wouldnāt have gotten into the program I have without her support. If I were to apply again, she would be my consultant without any second thought.
I had a great experience working with Jennifer across my target schools. Her clarity of thought during our numerous brainstorming sessions served as a compass that helped me keep the end goal in sight. Jennifer knows precisely what a winning essay looks like, which meant that she could effectively gauge my progress in putting together a great application.
I also personally loved the fact that Jennifer is very crisp with his feedback and is not afraid to call a spade a spade when needed. Her efficiency with her comments on my essays/ CV and the time we spent on calls ensured that I could balance putting together multiple applications alongside the long hours of my job. One of the things that I will be thankful to Jennifer for is her patience ā we wrote 30+ drafts before finalizing the essays.
Jenniferās vast experience was also fundamental to cracking the HBS & Wharton interviews. She was able to discern key areas of improvement, help me think through the key stories I wanted to tell, and always surprised me in our mock interviews by hitting me with at least one odd-ball question, which really paid off in my actual interview.
Jennifer is a thoughtful, candid, and knowledgeable admissions expert. She challenged me to push my thinking, found ways to bring out my personality in the applications, and consistently went the extra mile. I’m very grateful, and couldn’t have gotten into my dream school (GSB) without her.
Let me start by saying that I wouldn’t be where I am without Jennifer. She was instrumental in my application journey and is the reason for my admit to CBS.
Here are some things that make her great: (1) She is extremely knowledgeable when it comes to what schools look for. This really helps you when you are working on a tight deadline. (2) She is an amazing storyteller and can transform even the most mundane parts of the essays into engaging, pointed, and impactful parts. Adcoms read thousands of applications every year and this is key to making you stand out. (3) She is often strict and pushes you to think, introspect, and get to the root of your stories. This is critical to convey emotions, thus helping connect with the Adcoms. (4) She is a true professional, works swiftly, and gets back to emails quickly. If she is unavailable, she will let you know beforehand.
Lastly, if you are reading this and debating whether to work with a consultant or not in the first place, I would say go for it. Yes, it’s a big upfront investment, but it will pay off in the long run when you get that acceptance call!
Thank you, Jennifer!
I was referred to Jennifer Bloom by a friend of mine who had worked with her previously and had gotten into Booth. I took my GMAT pretty late in December – so I had just about 2 weeks to work on my B-school applications.
I reached out to Jennifer with my situation and interests in my desired schools. Skeptical at first (because of the limited time we had to work on the applications), she still encouraged me to apply and start with at least one school.
For the next 2 weeks, Jennifer reviewed my essays, and provided very relevant and thought-provoking feedback which helped me think more creatively. Her quick responses, helpful attitude, and highly informative feedback encouraged me to bring out the best version of myself in my essays/applications. Her feedback provided me with a direction that I wouldn’t have really thought of for myself.
Through her help in my essays and mock interviews, I was able to get admitted to my dream MBA school – Wharton with the Joseph Wharton Fellowship.
I loved my experience with Jennifer Bloom and would recommend her highly to anyone aspiring to get into competitive b-schools.
My experience with Jennifer was absolutely amazing. She transformed my applications completely and helped me put my best foot forward. Thanks to her, I ended my admissions season with 4 admits (2 M7s and 2 T15s), 2 waitlists and 1 full-ride. I was also able to submit quality applications to all my target schools, weeks (and in some cases, almost a month) in advance of the deadlines.
During my research, I found a large number of consultants giving cookie-cutter responses and discouraging me from applying to top-ranked schools due to the fact that I come from an over-represented demographic (Indian Engineer). However, my experience with Jennifer could not have been more different. What really sets her apart from others is that she was personally vested in my candidacy. Right from the get-go, she was totally candid regarding my strengths and weaknesses. She gave me a realistic assessment regarding the components in my profile that would appeal to each school while also telling me up-front what challenges I would have to overcome for each of them. This was critical in helping me make an informed choice.
When I sent a 30-page response to her questionnaire, Jennifer made the effort to go through the entire document meticulously. She was instrumental in helping me drill down to the impactful experiences in my life and telling them in a way that caught the attention of the admissions committee. She made the effort to understand the nuances of my professional background so that she could best position me for success. This really helped me differentiate myself in such a competitive year. Her attention to detail and quick turnaround is commendable. During critical moments, when I needed quick advice, I knew I could count on her. I had only to ping her on WhatsApp and she would help out. She strives for perfection and keeps pushing you to refine your application constantly. During our mock interview, she gave solid, actionable feedback that helped me ace this component. It was a pleasure working with her. Thanks to Jennifer, I refined my writing and story-telling skills and this will definitely stand me in good stead later in life as well.
I used both a comprehensive package and hourly consultations as part of my applications. Even in hourly consultations, Jennifer was very professional and always gave me a clear idea regarding the number of hours left and how I can best utilize them. Another notable aspect about Accepted as a firm is how Linda constantly stays in touch with applicants for feedback, both during and after the process, showing how they really care for their applicants.
If you are the sort of candidate who strives for perfection and is looking for a consultant who takes genuine interest in your candidacy to help you stand out, go with Jennifer. She indeed helped my applications ābloomā. Working with her was the best decision I made.
I worked with Jennifer from the beginning of the application process and all the way through to my acceptance letter. Jennifer helped immensely with bringing out relevant and impactful examples in my essays, and was then able to shape these into an engaging story. I have recommended Jennifer to my colleagues already.
I reached out to Jennifer after an unsuccessful MBA process (Rejects at INSEAD, LBS & Wharton). She was very professional and studied my essay’s from the last cycle first, to come to a conclusion on what I needed to work on rather than recommending the most expensive route at the start. We brainstormed and finalized my essays after several rounds of iterations over a period of ~1-1.5 months wherein Jennifer perfected the minutest of details. Despite a below-average GMAT from my overly competitive geographical area (India), I managed to secure interviews at Kellogg, LBS & Insead (3 out of the 4 schools I applied to). Jennifer helped me perfect my video essays and interviews after numerous rounds of mocks and discussions. I ended up securing an admit from Kellogg which was my first preference! I was also waitlisted at LBS & INSEAD which were my secondary choices and because of which I opted out of the waitlists. I would most definitely recommend Jennifer if you’re targeting a top business school!
I worked very closely with Jennifer for my INSEAD application and I ultimately secured an admit from the school with a scholarship!
I want to thank Jennifer for her guidance and expertise in this incredibly challenging process – having cleared my GMAT with a satisfactory score but left with only 1.5 months to INSEAD’s deadline, I had little time to meet the submission timeline while overcoming the challenges of developing my first application.
I first read reviews of Jennifer on Accepted, GMATClub, and several other sources prior to meeting her over a call. I was quite sure that I would work with Jennifer after speaking with her – she helped me assess my initial odds given my profile and career goals in relation to my target and reach schools (INSEAD, Wharton, HBS, MIT) and gave useful tips on how to navigate applications for US B-schools given my age profile.
Jennifer lives up to her reputation as a star consultant. Here’s why:
1) Exceptional empathy – When going through my personal stories, Jennifer helped me see my endeavors in a different light and highlighted select key influences, which ultimately formed the fundamental cornerstones in writing a genuine, persuasive, and original application. She also helped me stay on track in tackling the highly rigorous application process for INSEAD, all of these within a very tight 1-month timeline.
2) Service excellence – Jennifer had an extremely quick turnaround (on top of navigating other client applications), mostly within 24-48 hours. She was also very professional and provided very prompt feedback, and was readily available through text, calls, and emails. Knowing that Jennifer was accessible and very quick in her turnaround helped allay my anxiety and gave me confidence that I could work with her closely to turn in a winning application.
3) Sharp and effective feedback – Jennifer demonstrated a very high level of attention to detail as well as objectivity, helping me look at the stories I wrote through the school’s perspective. – Most importantly, Jennifer was ready to give you that tough love on your application through her direct and clear feedback. This helped me push my application to new levels and ultimately, a winning one.
Having gone through a process of brainstorming and review of my career development with Jennifer, I was able to extract my learnings from working with her in developing my Wharton application independently. I am elated that I was able to secure an invite to interview with Wharton as well.
I am very appreciative and thankful to Jennifer for helping me realize a long-time personal goal.
Jennifer was recommended to me by a couple of ex-colleagues who have worked with her before. Having heard great reviews about her, I had pretty high expectations when I reached out to her. Working with her over the past 6-7 months, I can safely say that she surpassed those expectations! I worked with her on my HBS application and was offered an admission. Jennifer really understands your story and doesn’t put any predetermined notions on your individual story. She really helped me to find the best way to present my thoughts in the application. I am usually driven by perfection in anything I do, and this led to numerous iterations of my application as well. But, Jennifer helped me with patience on each of those iterations, each time providing critical inputs. I am quite grateful to her and Accepted.com on the whole for making my dream come true!
I worked with Jennifer on my application to Duke Fuqua and was offered admission with scholarship! Jennifer’s guidance on the essays, interview, and the rest of the application was invaluable in helping me land an admit. She offered candid feedback and did not shy away from the multiple iterations required to perfect the essays. She was also very friendly and approachable throughout the process. I would highly recommend her and Accepted to future applicants!
I’m a busy professional while also serving in the Marine Corps Reserves. Including my wife and 4 kids, life is VERY busy! Jennifer was very flexible, understanding, and personable. Being able to identify with her on a personal basis allowed me to open up more about my experiences, while she assisted me in reviewing my MBA package. This helped tremendously. She greatly assisted me in thinking deeply on how to tell my story as it relates to the admissions process. THANKYOU JENNIFER!
I approached Accepted.com after being referred by a friend and I used their services for resume review and review of my essay. I would like to appreciate Jen Weld for her value-added input and thought-provoking suggestions which I incorporated into my essays and improved the output significantly. They are focused on quality deliverables and I found their pricing to be reasonable. I would recommend given their customer-focused approach and given a chance I will use their services again.
I deeply appreciated Jennifer’s: (i) guidance on essays, with multiple iterations to make sure I was thinking deeply about my “story” and communicating it clearly; (ii) resume editing, which removed a lot of bloat and made it much more impactful; (iii) assistance in filling up the application, ensuring that I used the limited space available effectively; and (iv) interview preparation.
She stuck to her one-day turnaround despite my relatively late start and continually improved my applications, even going back and forth with my hours (and, in some cases, minutes!) before school deadlines.
I was interviewed by every school I applied to and accepted at multiple top schools, including CBS, which I will be attending. I am very grateful to have had a partner like Jennifer through this process!
Jennifer helped me to strengthen my application by a mile. Above all, I liked the way she gave me advice. She did not try to just to fix the essay but asked me to dive deep and figure it out by myself and also provided me with great resources when I was under a time restraint. Obviously, writing an essay for B-school was a very painful process, but it would have been worse without her help. One more thing, I was worried she might be too busy with other applicants for the busy weeks, but she did not even take a break on those weekends and promptly dealt with my requests. All in all, I highly recommend Jennifer as your consultant.
Jennifer had a deep influence on my appplication and helped me to transform the perspective of my application in a unique way, strengthening my own brand. Her follow-ups and advice have facilitated the process to IMD, they were crucial because I faced difficult times at work with no time to lose. I received a scholarship basically because of her tutoring to build a good structured essay, she balanced my ideas to turn them into a high quality advantage over others. I definitely recommend her.
I worked with Jennifer on my B-School applications for Round 1 last cycle (applied in the Fall of 2017), and absolutely loved her input. I took her help specifically with essay editing, and could see a tangible difference in my quality of essays before and after. For further context, I put in an application to Columbia (early decision) before working with her, and didn’t even get an interview. After working with her I applied to a few schools Round 1, and heard back from HBS and London Business School for an interview! I’m going to be attending London Business School (which gave me half of my tuition off as scholarship – purely based on the strength of my application!) and I’m very excited. This could have not been possible without Jennifer, and I highly recommend her to anyone seeking help with their MBA essays!
I will be joining Ross School of Business this fall. Jennifer was a great help throughout my application process. Given that I was applying to 6-7 B-schools and had a very busy professional and personal life, I am certain that without her help, I wouldn’t have got through. I really liked her way of working. She has indepth knowledge about all business schools and knows exactly what each school is looking for in the essays. She forced me to think where I was lacking and appreciated me where I did well. I found her advice very appropriate. I wish good luck to Jennifer and would recommend her.
Jennifer’s guidance and mentorship were critical towards my admission to one of the top programs. She helped me obtain complete clarity about my goals and guided me to project the unique aspects of my profile. Looking back at the journey, I feel that reaching out to Jennifer and Accepted.com was the best decision that I made. The MBA application process is long and can often get quite tiring. Jennifer helped me remain motivated and focused. I am very grateful to her, for her guidance and constant support. Thank you Jennifer!
I prepared my application only for one school, without much knowledge about the application process. I worked on my own and consulted friends for most of the time and felt there was something missing in my application. I reached out to Jennifer as per my friend’s suggestion. Though I worked with her only for few hours on my essay and resume, the impact she had was outstanding. She did a great job by recommending a powerful story-line & structure for the essay and crafted the resume in a way that it was understandable and drives impact to folks outside my industry. Overall I was impressed with her work and would highly recommend her.
Jennifer proved to be incredibly helpful throughout the MBA application process. She was extremely prompt and helped me both structure and articulate the essays
A close friend of mine recommended Jeniffer to me and I am glad he did! I am extremely happy with my admits and Jenniffer’s inputs were an invaluable part of my applications. I was very impressed with her work ethic and prompt responses. She is an expert in the area of admissions and provided crucial insights throughout the process.
Due to my erratic work schedule, even when I sent my material for her review at the last moment, she never lost patience and was always very calm and supportive. I would also like to add that her resume editing skills are exceptional. She also gets an unbelievable amount of work done in a short span of time, something which I found quite admirable. With her help, my essays became much more succinct, punchy, and as a result more effective, I wholeheartedly recommend Jennifer to anyone looking to break into a top school!
The best part of working with Jennifer was that she treats the candidate’s application as her own and gives her full commitment in shaping it to the best. I have worked with her in 2 admit seasons and that calls how much I value her service. As an international applicant, I had my challenges of conveying stories from my personal, college and professional life in a succinct way. Here is where Jennifer was the best – she was excellent at helping me structure my essays and was a great value addition in shaping my resume. She treated my application on priority and was quick in turning around with her comments. I would strongly recommend her.
I am not sure how I would have gone through the process without Jennifer’s guidance and support throughout. I was impressed with Jennifer’s succinct replies in our initial conversations itself and was convinced that I would never regret working with her. She used to patiently listen to my side of the story and made me realize strong & weak points at the same time. The amount of work which Jennifer can achieve in 1 hour is really commendable and her editing skills are just superb. I got an admit into an M7 school for which I’m extremely grateful to Jennifer.
Given my hectic professional workload and demographic, it always felt the odds were against me. In fact, all other admissions consultants told me not to waste my time or money. Jennifer believed in my story and helped me craft an effective narrative to secure admission to multiple top 10 schools. Considering the time pressure I faced, Jennifer’s accessibility and effective communication style were essential to my success. I couldn’t have done it without her.
Jennifer is an outstanding consultant who can be counted on to provide you with candid but constructive feedback, extremely timely responses, and outstanding proofreading all at a very reasonable price. And, best of all, she is effective: her assistance was pivotal in securing my admission to 2 top 20 programs. I turned to Jennifer pretty late in my application process as I realized that I was having quite a bit of difficulty translating my non-traditional experiences in the government sector into a coherent narrative for why I should be admitted to a business school. When I initially talked to Jennifer I was extremely impressed with her candor as she assessed some of the weaknesses in my candidate profile and then discussed some strategies for combating these weaknesses. This stands in stark contrast to two other consultants I talked to who were somewhat reluctant to address issues with my candidate profile that I knew existed and were the primary reasons I was looking at retaining a consultant. After deciding to hire Jennifer, I continued to be impressed with her candor and attentiveness. I never sent her an email that was not responded to within 24 hours, and all of her emails contained useful advice and content. In addition to being appreciateive of the advice contained in her emails, I was also impressed with the conciseness of her emails and lack of extended back and forth as this minimized the amount of time she billed and maximized the value of the money I spent in employing her. All in all, I would strongly recommend Jennifer for anyone contemplating retaining a consultant!
Jennifer was absolutely wonderful! From the time I first thought of going to b-school, with no GMAT, no idea of whether I had a shot at any chance at a top 10 school and Round 1 deadlines 3 weeks above the horizon, Jennifer was extremely supportive of my chances! She made it clear to me that I had a shot by highlighting my strengths. I would never have applied to my dream school this year if it were not for how confident she was in my candidacy. She always replied emails almost immediately, encouraged me when I had my doubts and made sure that I remained optimistic. Her critical feedback on my application made me realize dangerous flaws I had never considered. Now I am looking forward to starting at the Stanford GSB this fall thanks to her cheerleading! Make sure you apply even when you have doubts and reach out to Accepted: you will not regret it!
What a process this has been! I am a reapplicant who came very close the first time and got accepted to 2/3 (top 5 business schools) in my second attempt (with scholarship money from each). The journey would not have been successful nor would have been the same without Jennifer and Accepted by my side. Being from a non-traditional background, I had little clue about admissions consulting. The reviews online provided too many options. I was referred to her unambiguously by a friend who had made it to Stanford. I took a leap of faith and have had no regrets since. Jennifer has years of successful experience with many MBA applicants but still remains down to earth and easily accessible. From her experience, she has deep knowledge and insights into what is required for all top B schools. She is brutally honest upfront, a very important skill to have as an admissions consultant. Throughout she was like a mirror to which I can always turn to for honest feedback. Her biggest strength is her editing skills. She can do magic with words, but is a perfectionist at the same time- a rare combination to have. Word limits and precision of speech are no longer obstacles if you are working with her! Her other big asset is accessibility and a sense of calm in all situations. MBA application process is long and stressful. There are times when you naturally become obsessed over small details and/or need clarification about things that you may normally ignore. You need a partner, a confidante who can help you navigate these times while remaining patient and non judgmental. She keeps herself super organized, which helps her to achieve a high turnaround time even at peak times. There was never a time she refused to edit a last minute essay change or a last minute email to adcom/interviewer. I cannot think of a more calm and professional person. She genuinely cared for my success throughout this long journey and she demonstrated this by her tremendous work ethic and not by flowery language. I believe that Accepted.com and Linda support and encourage this work ethic. Through my reapplication I worked briefly with other companies. But no other company comes close to Accepted when it comes to being driven by client success and genuine long -term relationship building, and not primarily by money or profits. The amount of editing/admissions consulting that Jennifer can deliver in 1 hour is just unbelievable!! Give it a shot I have learnt a lot in this exciting 2 year journey which fortunately led to a positive result at the end. More than the result, the journey itself has made me a better person. I am proud and happy that I had Jennifer to guide me all along this difficult path.
I applied to 7 top US MBA programs last year, interviewed at 5, and, IMO, I didn’t bomb any interview except one. I don’t know what happened, but I didn’t manage even a Wait-list, let alone an acceptance. I turned to Jennifer (referred to me by a trusted adviser) for a ding analysis on a couple of applications to get some insights on what went wrong. Jennifer’s reviews were sharp, and provided me with a starting point on how the Admissions Committee views applicants. It set the tone for a period of self-reflection I later went into. I decided to apply to Columbia ASAP, but I faced a major roadblock – I didn’t know how to represent my candidature as a re-applicant. I turned to Jennifer again, and she really helped me re-align my goals and think about ways I could draft a strong re-applicant essay. Not only did she provide accurate reviews, but also enabled me to draft better essays (answering the “why” and “how” rather than just the “what”). I think this helped me turn around my CBS application this time. In essence, I enjoyed working with Jennifer – got to learn a whole lot of tips and tricks of writing stellar essays. I would highly recommend taking Jennifer’s help in b-school applications. And, having said all of that, Jennifer provided the best insights in the shortest time-frame possible (I took Accepted’s hourly services, and for the number of hours I purchased, I don’t think any admissions consultant can provide as much as Jennifer did). Having said that, when I look back, I realize what turned it around for me at CBS – Jennifer’s recommendation on why I should write the optional essay. š Cheers!
