Justin received an MBA from Harvard Business School (HBS) and a BS in Economics with a concentration in Finance from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. At HBS, he worked closely with the Admissions Office in his capacity as an Elected Section Admissions Representative as well as the Admissions Executive Committee Member of the Student Association. He also served as an alumni interviewer for the Wharton School.
Justin currently works in the Technology sector at Grammarly as a Finance and Strategy Manager. Previously, selected as an HBS Leadership Fellow at Social Finance, Justin spearheaded financing and partnership projects to improve diversity within the US Technology workforce.
Prior to attending HBS, Justin was an investor at the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the private sector arm of the World Bank, where he executed private equity and debt investments in companies across Sub-Saharan Africa and Asia.
With professional experiences spanning from launching a poultry farm in East Africa, to raising capital for a Hollywood celebrity’s skincare brand, to formulating partnership strategies for a tech startup transforming the US 911 system, Justin appreciates what it means to have a non-linear career path – and to have multiple passions and interests. Additionally, having moved to the US by himself at age 14, Justin firsthand understands the unique challenges experienced by international students and first-generation immigrants.
In his spare time, Justin enjoys singing as part of a chorus in the Bay area, learning Mandarin, and reading about psychology. As an avid singer since childhood, Justin served as Business Manager of Penn Glee Club, one of the nation’s oldest collegiate singing groups, with which he toured internationally and performed for President Obama at The White House. At HBS, he continued singing as part of the HBS Show and Heard on the Street A Cappella. He is fluent in Korean.

It has been recognized as a top boutique MBA admissions consulting firm by Poets & Quants. Ivy Groupe’s mission is to help clients tell their story to business schools so that they can achieve their dreams and impact the world.
At the core of our work with clients is an emphasis on authenticity – this comes from a deep-rooted belief that every single person who is applying to business school has a unique story to tell:
If you want to stand out, you need to be true to yourself If you want to differentiate yourself, you need to approach the application process with your heart If you want to be memorable, the human element must come through
We dig deep to unearth your unique attributes and use that as the foundation to help you develop and connect the dots in your story – this is a key differentiator.
YOU are always at the center of what we do – our passion is helping you to tell your story. The business school application process is more of an art than a science and requires an empathetic team – coaching, guiding, and mentoring others is our very ethos. Combined with our in-depth, “no stone left unturned” approach and love of the written and spoken word, we are able to elicit the very best from you.

Justin helped me structure and perfect my essays for INSEAD in a very limited time, he was very responsive and turned around feedback very promptly despite having other projects. He also took the time to help me prepare for the interviews and ultimately to receive a place for August 2024! I highly recommend Justin and the Ivy Groupe for any MBA applications.
I used Justin Kim to walk me through the perplexing landscape of the MBA admission process, and I am happy to say that I have been accepted to Zicklin School of Business for MBA this coming Fall. Justin has been very helpful with my essays and especially in preparing for my MBA interviews. Would definitely recommend it.
