Admissions Consultant & Managing Director

Grad School Road Map

Consultant Bio

My background includes 5+ years as an MBA admissions director at Washington University in St. Louis and 5+ years in corporate talent development. My 20+ total years of experience are nearly all in leadership roles. I’ve won national awards for excellence in communication, and I leverage 8+ years of experience as a professional editor when I review applicants’ resumes, essays, and other application materials.

I’ve successfully coached graduate and undergraduate students, rising leaders, mid-career professionals, and career-switchers. I hold certifications for career coaching and leadership coaching, and my work has also spanned leadership communication, presentation skills, professional presence, team-building and conflict management.

I’ve given presentations on MBA admissions on college campuses and at professional events both domestic and international, to audiences ranging from five to more than 500.

I have an MBA from WashU’s Olin Business School and was academically ranked 12th in my class.

Company Information

Grad School Road Map has coached more than 350 clients, with a 97% acceptance rate to one or more of their top-choice programs and just under $4 million in scholarship funding.

We are exclusively former deans/directors of admission at top-tier b-schools – so in working with me, you’re not just working with someone who went to a good b-school and maybe was involved in admissions as a student; you work with someone who had comprehensive professional responsibility for MBA admissions, metrics, the class profile, etc.

Our mission is simple: We want to help YOU achieve your goal of earning a graduate business education. We take pride in our responsiveness to our clients and in the personalized attention we provide.

Menu of Services and Associated Costs

My experience is that it shouldn’t have to cost many thousands of dollars to prepare applications that are noticed and result in admission offers. Therefore I charge $250 per hour so you know exactly what you’re paying for. Typical clients will use 5-10 hours of my services, but you can work with me as much or as little as you’d like. For those who may be interested in a package rate, I’m happy to discuss that as an option for you.
I offer a full menu of services, including:
• How to find the right program for you, including the value of rankings and/or word of mouth
• Discussing your list of b-school program options
• Setting up an application timeline
• Resume review
• Essay strategy (including addressing less competitive areas of the application)
• Essay review
• Recommender strategy
• Outreach to admissions personnel, faculty, current, and former students
• Interview preparation, including practice interview(s)
• Waitlist strategies
• Choosing among multiple offers of admission
• Financing business school
• Anything in between
