Consultant Bio

Maria started volunteering with the HBS admissions office when she was getting her MBA, helping organize events for prospective students. At those events, she’d invariably be asked: “Applications are due soon, and I’m stressing out, but I can’t afford a consultant! Can you help me?” Always happy to have an excuse to procrastinate from reading cases, she agreed.

That was over 15 years ago, and she’s been providing admissions advice ever since.

Maria founded ApplicantLab in order to level the playing field when it comes to MBA Admissions – expert advice shouldn’t cost a fortune!

ApplicantLab’s unique on-demand platform gives applicants all the advice they need to prepare strong applications in self-service format for one low price. After working through all of the advice modules, users who wish to receive additional help are able to schedule 1:1 reviews to receive individual feedback and guidance on how to refine and strengthen things.

Because of this setup, ApplicantLab’s optional services are extremely high value for money (since we don’t have to spend our valuable time covering the “basics” with you).

Maria is a member of AIGAC, and has partnered with non-profits aiming to expand access to MBA programs for lower-income or under-represented groups. ApplicantLab is proud to partner with the Forte Foundation, the Riordan Fellows program, as well as Prospanica (the organization formerly known as NSHMBA). Maria serves on the Board of Prospanica’s Los Angeles chapter, where she routinely holds admissions strategy events. In addition to advising MBA applicants for over 15 years, she has served as an alumni admissions interviewer for Princeton for over 20 years, helping to make her mock interviews a particular client favorite.
