  • Rajdeep is a Wonder!
I found several positive reviews of Rajdeep’s work on Poets and Quants. In my initial call, I admired his candor. He was comfortable providing constructive feedback on my application and resume. I appreciated his optimism and confidence when considering working with me. As a candidate with an unusual background, I was quickly dismissed as a nonviable candidate by many consultants. I felt that I could trust Rajdeep to support my candidacy and provide clear, honest critiques. I truly cannot say enough wonderful words about Rajdeep. He was creative when helping to construct my application’s narrative, remarkably candid and also kind when providing feedback, and continuously willing to provide support. Resume: I appreciated most how Rajdeep broke down my roles and responsibilities into clear, compelling, and distinct assets. ...

  • Extremely helpful; HBS Admit with $80k+ Aid
    2 months ago
My friend worked with Rajdeep last year and is attending HBS so I reached out to him. I was looking for someone who could: 1. Provide nuanced guidance, tailored to my profile and target schools 2. Can dedicate necessary time and effort to submit high-quality applications 3 Has rich experience getting PE/VC admits into the top-3 As I compared my call with Rajdeep to the introductory ones with the other potential consultants, it stood out. The long and in-detail call with him gave me a good bird’s-eye view of what to expect in my journey and of course the great performance record. I worked with Rajdeep for close to 6 months, during which he guided me through every aspect of applications from school selection till the post-interview formalities. The support ...

  • Helped Me Understand Myself Much Better - Kellogg & LBS Admits
    2 months ago
I found Rajdeep listed here on Poets & Quants, on the best Admissions consultant list. I called a few people on the list, and I appreciated Rajdeep’s approach the most. Everyone else wanted to write my essays for what the school was looking for, whereas Rajdeep talked about wanting to make me look my best as is – and tailoring the way that I spoke of myself. I have applied to business school before. It was not a very serious endeavor – I look back on that application and cringe. This time I was serious about applying to top schools, and I knew I’d need help crafting my story and articulating my experiences in a way that works for admissions committees (and in a way that ...

  • 700 GMAT, HBS Admit with $105k+ Aid
I decided to work with Rajdeep because he had extensive experience of working with candidates from the FMCG sector. I was working in a remote region so it was important to have a counselor who was approachable, flexible, and whom I could reach out to without hesitation. Past candidates had testified about Rajdeep’s commitment to perfect your application and how hours spent was never a concern. The resume was the first step and it was a step in which I built the most confidence. With the STAR format and the approach of taking a step back and thinking like your “boss’s boss”, I defined my role and accomplishments for every milestone. However, my resume did not just cover my key accomplishments but clearly outlined my professional ...

  • Sharp Focus On Depth of Story & Extremely Approachable, HBS with $100k+ Aid
    4 months ago
I was clear I wanted to work with Rajdeep based on the experience of close friends at Wharton and HBS. Two reasons stood out: i. Sharp focus on content and depth of story a. Based on conversations with folks who had worked with Rajdeep, I liked Rajdeep’s focus on content and a very high bar on the depth of the examples in the story. ii. Rajdeep was seen as extremely approachable and open to any number of iterations. This was a key factor for me, because I had a very tough work schedule as a ...

I read about Rajdeep on PoetsandQuants and then talked to friends at HBS, who shared his track record. Throughout the process and across the different activities of resume, essay writing, application form, recommendation inputs, Rajdeep has immense clarity of thought and is not afraid of giving you blunt feedback. Resume – Rajdeep was able to bring out the best aspects of my profile into my resume, ensuring that I project the best version of my professional achievements. Thinking about my achievements from my boss’ boss’ point of view was eye-opening and gave me a new dimension to think through. Goals definition – Rajdeep pushes you to think through an (a) aspirational yet achievable goal (b) detailed version of this goal, so that it isn’t ‘in the air’. The ...

  • Invests Time, Makes Sure Best Application Put Forth, Kellogg, Stern & LBS Admits
    4 months ago
My friend at Wharton mentioned Rajdeep does not settle till he knows the best application has been put forth. I talked to many consultants and felt Rajdeep offered exactly what I needed – someone to push me and devote time to my applications. Applying for an MBA is mainly about 2 things – self-reflection and articulating your story. I was weak on both when I started out and Rajdeep helped me with these aspects. We spent considerable time digging into my motivations which helped me discover strengths that I would have never mentioned on my application otherwise. This helped define my goals which were important not just for my application, but also to have clear medium and short-term goals for my career. Rajdeep pushed me and helped me ...

I was referred by a friend at HBS and joined Rajdeep because of his track record and after discussions with past clients on their experience of working with him. Rajdeep’s approach to the business school admissions process is very methodical, seamless, and personalized. His attention to detail to the specific examples which brought out my story together, unbiased guidance and support to ensure every application is completed diligently, systemic approach to preparing for interviews was extremely helpful in gaining admission to a school of my choice even though I was an early-stage candidate. I have referred Rajdeep to a few of my friends for their applications as well.

  • Experienced & A Great Source of Information, Kellogg Admit
    5 months ago
A friend referred me to Rajdeep and I worked with Rajdeep for 4 schools. He also helped me shape my Booth application pro-bono. I benefited a lot from my experience and the following stood out for me throughout the engagement: · Single source of information and opinions about the application process, coming from years of experience. This allowed me to focus amidst a barrage of, at times, contradictory information available through secondary or primary research within my network. · My engagement with Rajdeep helped me in structuring the otherwise convoluted process. Starting from the timing of applications, elements of the applications, and the essay content. · Significant commitment to the ...

I started my applications in round 2 and applied with Rajdeep to 3 schools. Rajdeep is very direct with his feedback but in retrospect, his working style kept me on the edge every time, to continue iterating to give it the best shot. Working on the resume, essays, and interviews, Rajdeep’s experience showed during our conversations and nuances he shared. Apart from picking the right experiences and shaping them, he helped me communicate in lesser words and helped cut down some large essays to the word limits without losing the essence. He is also dedicated. Everything went like clockwork, with planned calls and timelines for each school - done well in advance. Calls happen on time, are as elaborate as you would want, and are filled ...

  • Re-Application, Resume & Interview Advice from Rajdeep, Upgraded from Stern to Columbia ($30k)
I worked with a top US-based consultant last year and applied to 8 schools and gained admission to Stern from the waitlist. I reached out to Rajdeep to discuss a re-application. He was frank that Stern is a great school but went through all my applications thoroughly and pointed out all the deficiencies. He laid out a realistic plan for ways he could help in addressing those deficiencies. I felt like he was honest about what he could help with and built realistic expectations for me about my target schools. He told me the risks, told me the improvements and let me decide. I finally decided to reapply. Some differences I felt in both my application attempts. Resume: This was the most differentiating factor between Rajdeep ...

I learned about Rajdeep through P&Q so a big thank you! The first call was very informative. Rajdeep is to the point, honest with his recommendations and has great feedback from everyone I spoke with. I only applied in R2. I applied to 4 schools – Tuck, Kellogg, Booth, and Wharton. I got interview calls for all 4, converted Tuck ($100k), Kellogg, Booth (WL), and Wharton (Interview). Working with Rajdeep was a rewarding and enriching experience, not only from an application point of view but also for analyzing my career and professional goals. I had applied to a few schools in Round 1 with another consultant, but with Rajdeep, I saw a huge difference in the quality of my applications. With the resume and essays, Rajdeep ...

I found Rajdeep as he was ranked No.1 in last year’s MBA Consultants Ranking by P&Q. As a reapplicant for the MBA program in some top US schools, I thought I could use some advice on my resume and essay writing. Also, the first call I had with Rajdeep made me believe that he was very familiar with this area and could be a great help. Rajdeep is the best consultant for MBA applications given his deep knowledge and understanding of different schools’ admission processes. Before starting the process, he did some assessments for me to better understand my strength/weakness and what practical career goals I could pursue post-MBA. I am based out of the US and read about Rajdeep on Poets & Quants. He had good reviews which referenced multiple successful admits to top schools, so I decided to work with him. I can’t thank or praise Rajdeep enough. Despite being a candidate with a profile similar to many others in the pool he helped me stand out and even get a scholarship. He was efficient and had good response times and was always thoughtful in his responses. I had worked with another consultant for 2 schools in round 1 and got no interviews and then a friend at Harvard recommended me to Rajdeep. So many things went well in working with Rajdeep! Right from managing timelines for multiple schools’ applications and running different workstreams in parallel to creating a coherent story based on my career trajectory. For the resume, Rajdeep pushed me to think about how the CEO of my company or how the partner in my consulting project would articulate the work, which enabled me to bring out the impact of my work. I heard about Rajdeep through friends and had heard of his great success with M7 candidates. I applied in R2 to 5 schools. Rajdeep puts a lot of effort into getting the resume right - as it is the foundation of the application process. He brought the best of me out in the resume. When we started discussing essays, I felt Rajdeep understood my professional and personal achievements well and gave me good direction for my stories. He is very sharp in giving direction and focused on tailored specific feedback. There was a time during the applications process when I got very busy with work and couldn’t focus enough on my application essays and my app quality went down (material I worked on). Rajdeep’s impressive track record and ability to position my experiences to help put my best foot forward convinced me to join. I had a great experience working with Rajdeep. His approach to structuring my resume so as to highlight continuous progression helped provide a framework for the applications on the whole and a lot of material for the essays. His guidance around defining ambitious but realistic goals resonated with me, and his coverage of the interview prep was targeted but comprehensive. • Works Closely To Support Your Narrative - Attending Wharton!
I learned about Rajdeep from a trusted friend at Kellogg who had very positive things to say. What gave me comfort was Rajdeep’s track record to the top schools and strong experience working with consulting + investing profiles. The engagement started with resume making which pushed my thinking to be more top-down and strategic instead of micro and operational. Next, he helped me create a reasonable school target strategy (top-5) backed with strong reasoning and data. However the biggest value Rajdeep brought to my application was helping me lockdown on the right narrative by taking a holistic look at my profile and career aspirations. Another area where I really appreciate Rajdeep’s value add was crafting a thoughtful but power-packed essay for each school. He’s not easy to ...

Many of my friends at Stanford, Wharton, etc. had tremendously good things to say about Rajdeep. In a world where there is a multitude of consultants, it made my decision much easier knowing that some of my friends had secured MBA admissions to the top B-Schools through Rajdeep. After my first unsuccessful attempt with another consultant, I was rigid that I would only apply to business schools with Rajdeep. During my screening call with Rajdeep, he stood out as one of the only MBA Consultants who are blatantly honest with respect to your profile. After working with a top US consultant, I realized how good Rajdeep is vs. other consultants. The consulting process was very structured. I learned about 5-6 consultants from my network and I read up on everyone and then set up a time with them and discussed my profile before working with Rajdeep. We started with the resume and on my first draft, I received specific instructions especially on moving away from case-based thinking to firm based thinking and impact metrics. I also applied this approach to my current job as well. The resume process overall helps you think about your work from a more strategic perspective rather than a task-based one. For the essays, Rajdeep and I used to brainstorm first and build out an outline. So once I had clarity on the story elements for each essay it was easier to write and I was not lost ...

I was applying from Consulting and was uncertain of the strength of my application. I did not have people from either my consulting firm or my undergrad institute who were at top b-schools and so I had a limited network to rely on / less access to information. My job involved long hours and considerable travel leaving me less time to understand the nuances of the application process. My objective of joining was two-fold – get guidance on the nitty-gritties of the process (what do schools really look for, what do the essay questions truly mean, etc.) and saving time. A friend at Harvard referred me to Rajdeep. With absolutely no clue on approaching business school applications, Rajdeep’s expertise made the process less overwhelming. Every step of the process (resume, essays, goals) is very well laid out which helped me structure my application. For every school, he has an idea of what works and what doesn’t, which helped me choose stories/traits I wanted to exhibit for each school. For the essays, Rajdeep kept pushing me to think harder till the time he was convinced of the “what” and the “how”, and paid attention to the relevance of every single word in each of my drafts. The interview preparation stood out for me for the way Rajdeep asked me to answer varied sets of questions in a ...

Rajdeep’s expertise was reflected in his ability to provide pointed and insightful feedback on my application material. As a first-time applicant, the application process was a black-box to me. Rajdeep helped me think about the strategic business impact of my achievements and bring it out in my resume and essays. In particular, he was great at helping me drill down my technical experiences in financial advisory, simplify complex financial jargon, and put together a well-rounded, engaging story with an easy flow. I also appreciate Rajdeep’s persistence in ensuring that I iterated as many times as was needed with the essays before I arrived at an application-ready version. Rajdeep came highly recommended to me from a friend at Harvard and hence I had high expectations. Turns out, he exceeded them. I worked with him for Wharton interview prep and I found the experience to be thorough, detailed and ultimately, helpful. Rajdeep did this using a three-pronged approach - 1) Detailed overview of the process through a long email covering suggested reachings and approach, 2) Practical insights through conversations facilitated with Wharton students who had gone through the process, and 3) Personal feedback on the notes prepared and tailoring them to bring out individual strengths. My colleagues in consulting had worked with Rajdeep and seen amazing success. Other consultants I talked to had different school ranges from what was my view, so after my conversation with Rajdeep I read testimonials, saw the success rate (particularly from my firm) and joined him. My journey for applications has been grinding, super busy and taxing. But Rajdeep has been with me all along, making me better with each edit and really investing time in my applications. Given I had an early start and I am a very ‘J’ person, I had completed my resume and goals definition way before applications had even opened. Rajdeep asked all the right questions that made me think and understand the point he is trying to bring forth. Personally, I think ...

I reached out to Rajdeep to help me with applications when I had absolutely no idea of the process. From the moment he came on board, he was frank and methodical. The most striking thing is that he takes complete ownership of the application and treats it as his own. We went through multiple iterations for resume and essays until he was sure about each word that was written in the application. This in turn gave me tremendous confidence in his commitment to my application. Rajdeep introduced me to frameworks for the resume, which transformed my resume and made it more appealing. He was patient and went through each and every line on the resume in detail. Writing essays was a mammoth task for me ...

I was referred by a friend in his first year at HBS and worked with Rajdeep for the interview and post-interview reflection. I'm incredibly grateful to Rajdeep for all his genuine guidance and support through the HBS interview prep, and I'm certain HBS would not have happened without him! I reached out to him just a week before my HBS interview, with super tight timelines on my end. Rajdeep went out of his way to adjust to my schedule, and carefully tailored my prep, rather than employing a cookie-cutter approach. During the mocks, he provided sharp, nuanced and insightful comments, along with suggestions on how to improve, in a very short period of time. His understanding of the HBS interview process is unparalleled. In the 24-hour window ...

  • Olin Ding last year to Wharton admit with Rajdeep
    9 months ago
Having applied earlier to Olin and not having made it I was unsure about how to fully project my experience through essays and during interviews, for which I believed soliciting guidance would be the best approach. Secondly, my current job is heavily demanding and I wanted someone to keep me on track. Rajdeep has one of the best track records for applications to the M7. The most brilliant part of his advise was that despite having an unconventional profile, I was able to explain my experiences in the right manner, using the most appropriate anecdotes which gave my story the required impetus. During one such instance of laying down the goals, the questions put forth by Rajdeep led me to dive into extensive research ...

Colleagues of mine work with Rajdeep every year and have gained admission to all the top-5 schools so I was aware how Rajdeep was supportive in building an application strategy and delivering on it. I was impressed by Rajdeep’s support on my resume – having worked only in the social sector, I had trouble articulating my experiences to suit an ‘MBA app’. Rajdeep helped me every step of the way, from explaining what was needed to how it is to be done. His revisions were meticulous and really helped my resume jump 10X from my initial draft. I learned about Rajdeep through Poets&Quants, so a big thank you to Poets&Quants! The experience was fantastic. I really appreciate the attention to detail, continuous willingness to go the extra mile and the unending strive for perfection that Rajdeep brought to the table. Also, I always respected Rajdeep’s insights regarding essays and profile-positioning - they were worth their weight in gold and added tremendous value to my application. One thing that personally stood out for me was Rajdeep’s dedication. Even though we started months in advance and went about the process in a very planned manner, there were days closer to the deadline when I was rushing to do last-minute changes – in such cases, Rajdeep was available throughout – be it 12 midnight or 9am, ...

I liked the fact that early-on, he thought through a timeline customized for me, factoring into my work commitments and ensured that we largely stuck to it. He has a strong grasp of the application process for all top b-schools. He helped me build a crisp resume and provided clarity when we were brainstorming my post-MBA goals. Rajdeep is a great consultant. I chose him because my friends (6 people I knew in my network) had worked with him, and gone on to receive admission in top schools. Personal recommendations from friends, combined with Rajdeep’s unparalleled success rate and a competitive fee (at least relative to other high-performing admission consultants) made working with him an easy choice. In terms of my experience, what I found to be most helpful was the resume-improvement support. Rajdeep probably took a 5/10 resume and improved by dramatic margins. He always pushed me to think of concrete results that exemplified the work, while remaining authentic and concise. His support on essays is essays is useful as he provides solid boundaries for what the content should cover. Over the years, ...

Once we aligned on the schools, which took some time and back and forth, there was a big change in my resume in terms of how I presented my work. I appreciated the essay brainstorming, outlines and additional information provided by Rajdeep that helped me shape my essays. I joined Admissions Gateway because of this robust approach I had seen work for my friend and because Rajdeep could point out major improvements in my application in our very first meeting. I stood my ground in applying to schools that I wanted to go to, and Rajdeep supported me in the process and we applied to HBS, GSB, Wharton, Sloan, Yale SOM and INSEAD. One thing I like was Rajdeep’s commitment. A friend at Harvard suggested connecting with Rajdeep and I worked with him on 5 M7 schools. I had an educational experience and gained a lot of insight on how to present my story in a way I couldn’t have done myself. Time zone differences meant that it was pretty late in India by the time I was free from work commitments in London. However, Rajdeep was very flexible and ensured that we left no stone unturned in putting up a strong application. I thought Rajdeep’s resume strategy of thinking from your management’s perspective in order to tease out the high-level impact of one’s professional achievements was genius. Chimni was upfront from the beginning about the strengths and weaknesses of my candidature, where I fit among my applicant pool and what I could expect from a counselor and the time and effort I should give in return. He came across as experienced, knowledgeable and realistic; a "blunt but fair" combination that I found particularly useful in the early stages of the application. After going through my applications, we decided to apply to a range of top-5 and top-10 schools. Saying that Rajdeep helped me with my resume would be the understatement of the century. The STAR system was a game-changer for ...

As a re-applicant, I was aware of the complexities of the application process. However, I did not have a good idea of how to structure my application – resume, essays, goals, etc. As a result, my previous applications had been incoherent and inconsistent. A Booth alumn who had worked with Chimni for her applications recommended him. From the first conversation, I knew that he is highly knowledgeable and heavily invested, and treats each application with the same care and detail as if he were making his own application. After talking to friends and reading Admissions Gateway reviews I joined Chimni. The 4 areas in which I benefited were: Resume: Chimni helped me polish my resume, elevating it and giving it a solid structure. He helped me pivot ...

A couple of my friends referred me to Chimni. The initial call was great, I thought he was dedicated and had a great track record. What stood out for me during my experience working with Chimni was professionalism and expertise. He was efficient in helping me brainstorm the elements of my essay and make me think out of the box. Post the initial iterations on essays, I found it difficult to think outside of the box or start afresh. Rajdeep would devote time in helping me come up with new angles in such situations. He was extremely approachable. There was no delay or lag in reviews. Rajdeep was always mindful of the task at hand and ensured timely completion of all parts of the process. I was ...

I heard about Chimni and Admissions Gateway from a colleague at work and was impressed by his track record. Chimni is a pusher. He knows when you’re giving 90% and pushes until you reach your 100%. Chimni did not push his own opinions on me and rather let me figure out my own stories and goals and helped shape them. Chimni helped sculpt each line on my resume to bring out the impact of my experiences. Instead of writing simple job descriptions found in most resumes, he forces you to think about quantifiable results and how your work has made a difference. He is very hands-on and involved in every step of the process and focuses a lot on research and networking with current and ex-students ...

  • Personal Touch! Great Harvard Interview & Reflection Help, HBS Admit!
I worked with Chimni mainly to prepare for my HBS mock interview, based on my friend’s recommendation. Chimni's approach was very different compared to other well-known consultants I worked with. He suggested a lot of input over the phone compared to email, which was the exact style I was looking for. For example: Before the main mock interview with Chimni, I had 2 calls with him just to understand how to prepare for B-school interviews, HBS in particular. Post-interview, I had a call with him to go over the interview and we brainstormed about the HBS post-interview reflection note. And I will again emphasize that most other consultants would just do 1 call and answer other queries over email. For me, this personalized approach was ...

Working with Chimni was quite amazing. Most important was the strategic advice that was given right at the beginning. Before that, I was not projecting my candidature well. By the time I finished my resume I had greater clarity on my strengths and how to project them. The guidance at each step was comprehensive and helped me put my best foot forward. I had a lot of content for my resume and essays but I didn’t know how to put it together cogently and also make it succinct. Chimni’s discussed various examples and frameworks which allowed me to think deeply and bring out only the strategic stuff. Another major hurdle was managing the word count as I had never written such essays. But through iterations, I ...

I started early, reading blogs on multiple websites such as Poets&Quants and also talked to a lot of current students. I heard great reviews about Chimni so I was excited to work with him. Resume building and conveying my thoughts in the essays were the biggest challenge that I faced coupled with a lack of international experience. I was also in a competitive pool of engineers and had a low GPA to contend with but my GMAT was good. Chimni really helped me think at a high level and visualize the larger picture in terms of my goals and the stories I wanted to showcase. He helped me structure my experience and focus on key traits such as leadership, collaboration, and diversity. Also, he taught me to ...

My fiancee had great things to say about Admissions Gateway and Chimni so it was an easy choice. I was from a great undergrad school with less than a stellar academic record, top-notch consulting experience but not from a firm considered gold standard, private equity experience but not from a global bulge bracket – so the profile touched ‘gold’ yet felt silver. Chimni helped me think through my choices and we decided to apply to the top-7 but include all my dream schools. I had done research on Poets and Quants etc but my discussions with Rajdeep helped me put almost a year of research into frameworks and decisions quickly. After my call with Chimni, I knew right away that I wanted to work with him because of his candid, action-oriented and well-informed approach. He has a great track record and the support provided was more exhaustive. Chimni helped me break down the process into key parts with manageable timelines. Starting from the resume, within 1-2 iterations I could see the difference – Chimni deeply understood my work and helped me bring out the impact. Two friends who worked with Chimni and gained admission to Harvard had given me great reviews about Admissions Gateway. My interaction with Chimni was calm and focussed from the outset. He gave me an idea of how the process works, what the schools look for etc. I was surprised he didn’t get hung up on my weak GPA, which gave me confidence that I had a reasonable shot at the top schools. The resume building process was thorough; moving the resume from appearing ‘operational’ to appearing ‘strategic’ was the big part. Since I had applied to a few B Schools the previous year, I felt I had my resume in great shape before meeting Chimni. However, he not only explained its flaws, but he also helped me understand the basic building blocks of a great resume. It has been an extremely important lifelong learning for me. Chimni challenged my thought process - all resume bullets, or essay points were challenged. Each ...

  • Puts his heart and soul in your application, Harvard ($100K), Kellogg ($140K) & Tuck ($40K)
I heard excellent feedback from friends at Harvard and Wharton who had worked with Chimni. I signed on with him after having spoken to several other international consultants. Though Rajdeep was not as reassuring about my chances (we were talking only the top-3 schools) as I would have liked in the initial call, I appreciated his candor and willingness to provide straight, honest feedback. He stayed true to this trait throughout the application process – never diluting his opinion, never settling for anything less than a top-notch draft, and never giving up unless I did. I remember when I really wanted to apply to this top-5 school in Round 1 but was severely behind on my essays, having had to take a few weeks off mid-process. Rajdeep agreed ...

I was looking for a consultant who could help me secure an admit to a top-5 US B-School and Rajdeep came highly recommended by friends who had made it to top US schools. His approach is very structured and professional. We began with the resume and his way of looking at it from a strategic lens made my resume really strong. I had an operations background so I was earlier struggling with presenting the bigger picture. We finalized our schools, picking Wharton, Kellogg, Darden and Ross in Round 1. Rajdeep’s approach of deep research on schools made my essays very relevant and specific to the schools. He was extremely patient despite multiple iterations, helping perfect the essays. The engagement went beyond what I had expected or imagined. ...

Hi, I am attending Booth and will be working in consulting full time. I was in the technology sector and had less than average work experience. With the goal of targeting the top-5 b-schools, I evaluated numerous consultants but the reason I chose to work with Rajdeep Chimni was that I felt he understood my background, my achievements and the challenges of being an international applicant. He was also recommended by a friend who got into Booth. Chimni had a scientific approach to the entire process. He helped me hedge my risks by making me apply to 2 reach schools, 1 safe school, and 2 dream schools. This gave me both a safety net in the top-10 while trying for the top-5. My first challenge ...

I decided to work with Rajdeep after very strong recommendations from college seniors and friends. For me the challenge was presenting a coherent story due to multiple job switches and Rajdeep helped me tremendously with this. He understands the process really well. There was this time when I was really nervous about an interview and he was very patient during the mocks, helping me build my confidence. He was just there, available all of the time to address the smallest of my doubts even at 3 a.m. in the morning. Rajdeep will not let anyone send in anything mediocre. I remember there was this essay that I wasn’t positioning well and he kept iterating and telling me how to take a different approach specific to that school. He ...

I worked with Rajdeep on my Masters in Management Application to London Business School. Despite applying very late in the process (4th Round) and tight deadlines, Rajdeep was phenomenal in helping me put together my essays and story. Rajdeep works harder than you and brings a lot of experience and understanding of different schools. During the process his work on my CV was phenomenal and I ended up using the same CV for my strategy consulting applications, successfully. I would strongly recommend him as a thought partner as you start your MBA / MiM journey.

  • Helps portray your personal story, Johnson MBA
    2 years ago
A friend at Kellogg referred me to Rajdeep. He provided in-depth guidance on getting the personal story in the right shape for the various essays (Cornell and Booth). On many occasions, Rajdeep helped me identify what needed to be shown in the essays and what didn’t. He also helped me trim my responses to the interview questions and made them more crisp and direct. As the essays required a lot of secondary research and guidance from alumni and current students, Rajdeep also helped me tap his vast network at the top schools to network and gain first hand insight on courses, clubs, experiential programs and culture.

The fact that he is an MBA from a top US school helped polish my thinking towards the essays and recommendations and in creating a sell-able story. This was my third year of applications. Over two years, all I could manage was few interviews. After talking to many consultants, I was confident that I had a good profile - 760 GMAT, Undergraduate degree from IIT and some of the best start-ups on my resume. However, I had struggled to connect the dots and present my candidacy in the best way. After painful rejections, an MBA consultant pointed me toward Rajdeep Chimni. Chimni pointed out a few very important mistakes and tangible ways to improve the profile. He seemed logical and I could see a much better approach to tackle the process. The process began by revamping the interview, and I could see a big difference. I believe that while my resume earlier was quite ...

Also, I was impressed by his strategy to present my professional and personal experiences for a strong application. Rajdeep also did a fantastic job when it came to my essays, helping me identify what the B-schools were looking for and the special USPs in my profile that would appeal to the ad com, making me a perfect fit for the school. All this really worked out well for me ...

I come from a manufacturing and operations background and my work was distinct and highly technical. Rajdeep worked with me very patiently to help me change the engineering oriented points to those that showcase business impact, which really helped me put forward my story and essays in an easy to understand manner. I was wait-listed at a few schools and Rajdeep worked with me continuously to keep top of mind at those schools through updates and also provided tips on networking with students to give school specific updates. His accessibility and responsiveness was exceptional. Starting from the interactions on profile to discussions about the various schools and their fit to my profile, he was open to having a thorough conversation and more importantly two-way communication. ...

I started working on MBA applications in round 2 and was a bit apprehensive on working with a consultant because of experiences my friends had reported. Working in an unconventional (Oil and Gas) job, I wanted someone who could understand the nuances of my job and guide me how to reflect that in my application essays. While talking to Chimni, I realized he understood my profile and had in-depth knowledge of the admissions process. He also had positive reviews from his previous clients, and working with Chimni turned to the best decision as he is heavily invested in helping his client’s succeed. The initial brainstorming session with Chimni helped crystallize my short term and long term goals. He carefully listened to my personal and professional journey so ...

A friend who worked with Rajdeep and gained admission to Harvard recommended me to him. I had been admitted to a couple of colleges in the previous year, but I thought it was possible to do better. My feedback from Tuck had been about my story being convoluted. Speaking with Chimni further gave me the confidence that he would add a lot of value in my application strategy and with crafting the story/narrative. During the profile evaluation, Chimni showed a lot of confidence in my profile and was sure that I could crack an M-7 school. He was straightforward and direct in pointing out both my weaknesses and strengths. I was also impressed with his knowledge of the process specific to each school. During the process he was ...

Working with Rajdeep on my resume was the defining moment of my MBA application journey. After getting rejected without interview from all the B-Schools that I applied to during the 2016 cycle, I approached Rajdeep who helped me realize the strategic impact of my work-experience during the resume building process. Rajdeep helped me identify various leadership stories which boosted my confidence tremendously. Moreover, it helped me understand my personal brand, helped me understand the strength of my candidacy and provided me with a framework to position myself strategically. With all this, I was able to put together a much stronger set of applications for 2017 admission cycle, received multiple interview invites (Tuck, UT-Austin-McCombs and Emory-Goizueta) and have decided to matriculate at UT-Austin (McCombs). Rajdeep has ...

After speaking to multiple students even consultants many suggested that I change my story and put in a consulting focus to make it more saleable to ad-coms. This did not ring true to me and I was uncomfortable with digressing from the main text. When I spoke to Chimni at Admissions Gateway he gave me the confidence to pursue my “Start-up theme” while showcasing how we could give it strategic direction. My GPA was a little on the lower side. Moreover, professionally I had been working with start-ups and not with a McKinsey or Goldman which are feeders to the top B Schools. Chimni allayed these apprehensions and helped me focus on the positives such as two promotions and the right portfolio at work. The next ...

After talking to friends and students I decided to work with Chimni. He helped outline an exhaustive plan leading up to the deadlines spanning 6-7 months so that one could map everything out. What stood out for me was that the resume was customized as per ones goals and thus a consulting resume was different from say product management. My resume took close to 22 iterations but I was happy with the final result as I learnt how to portray my experiences. We then worked on outlining the goals. Usually you have an overall goal but we went into the specifics like which industry, how to align this with my profile, what skills I need etc. The most important part was the essays and interviews ...

In multiple conversations with past applicants/current b-school students, Rajdeep Chimni’s name was a constant as the go-to consultant. Given the market perception and how clear and concise Rajdeep was with his inputs in initial conversations, I signed up. I also had other friends working with him which made the decision easy. Rajdeep is a great asset to any candidate applying to top ranked international b-schools. He brings to the table clarity of thought and decisiveness in action which is quite rare. His methodological approach helps in prioritisation and time-management, especially critical when you have 4-5 applications to submit in quick time. He clearly communicated review timelines, and allowed for multiple reviews and edits. My CV looked a 100x better due to Chimni’s inputs. For my Kellogg ...

I was a second MBA applicant and a friend at Stern referred me to Rajdeep. The end-to-end ownership Rajdeep took for the process was remarkable. Rajdeep has a keen eye for detail and I greatly appreciate his concern for the candidate succeeding in the application process. In my case, the points Rajdeep mentioned on making my SOP more detailed, ‘action-oriented’ and realistic were very helpful. Rajdeep has good knowledge of different career tracks and he helped me think through the application like a business proposal. He truly went much above and beyond what I had expected.

He also helped me with visualizing what my complete story should be and how to make sure its completely represented in my application. I remember Chimni being the only one who asked me for my previous applications and discussed my essays and goals in detail. Chimni's genuineness and unselfishness were clearly reflected as he spared more than an hour with me, though we had not started working together. (Our association was still not finalized). Chimni helped me better research the school as well as leveraged his vast personal network to connect with relevant people, which makes the content rich. 2) Personal involvement: Chimni was personally involved till the end. His candid feedback was very useful in crafting a compelling application. 2. Focus on introspection – Rajdeep’s inputs helped to make my resume more ‘achievements focused’. My most significant achievements turned out to be things I had not thought of mentioning. The resume building exercise was helpful in identifying what I should highlight in the essays. Rajdeep has an extremely structured approach to the resume building process and spends a good amount of time understanding your company's business, your role, and how has it evolved over your career. He then gives you steller examples from your kind of industry and profile explaining how the same projects can be depicted as a bad and good bullet point on your resume.
