  • Unwavering Support, Columbia $$$ & Wharton Admits
    1 month ago
I worked with Rajdeep, drawn to the wealth of recommendations from successful applicants to HSW. In R2 2023, I applied to schools and was waitlisted at M7 schools Wharton, Booth, and Kellogg, while securing admission to Ross and Darden. Navigating the waitlist process, particularly the three-month wait at three prestigious schools, proved emotionally taxing. Throughout this challenging period, Rajdeep provided invaluable support, assisting me in crafting update letters to enhance my candidacy. However, in June and July 2023, the disappointing news arrived—I was denied from the waitlists of Wharton, Kellogg, and Booth. Rajdeep, displaying his strategic insight, worked with me to analyse external and application factors contributing to waitlist outcomes and encouraged a determined reapplication approach. During the reapplication phase, Rajdeep urged me to broaden ...

I was clear from day 1 that I wanted to work with Rajdeep. His feedback from my peers had been phenomenal and of course results speak for themselves. Simply brilliant is how I would describe Rajdeep as a counsellor. I strongly believe his sharp clarity of thought makes him the best for this job. His approach is unique- he will nudge you to think more comprehensively about certain things v/s telling you what to write. This went a long way to establish authenticity in my essays. He understands your strengths and more importantly weaknesses quickly and frames his working style accordingly. Rajdeep’s perspective on schools/ applications is humbling. You never get overconfident, whilst doing an amazing job- a mindset that helped me deeply as I awaited results. ...

Rajdeep deserves a stellar 5-star rating without a doubt. Both my wife and I sought his guidance this year, and engaging with him in late June turned out to be a blessing. The result, Booth and Wharton Round 1 Admits with scholarships. Rajdeep places significant emphasis on perfecting the resume, recognizing it as the focal point in business school applications. Collaborating with him not only enhanced my understanding of the pivotal role a well-crafted resume plays but also instilled insights that extend into my professional life. His interview preparation sessions are very thorough. I started working with Rajdeep in June end, and had a good experience working. The process is very well structured. Rajdeep assisted me in crafting my essays. His extensive knowledge of various schools, coupled with his ability to comprehend candidates and extract the most compelling stories for essays is invaluable. In addition to this, he is very realistic, which helps you keep your expectations realistic. I can’t work under a lot of pressure but Rajdeep made sure that the whole process went smoothly while keeping in mind the deadlines even when I joined him late. 2 months ago
I did a lot of elaborate research and spoke with almost ten different consultants before choosing to work with Admissions Gateway. I felt other Indian consultants were overpromising whereas foreign consultants didn’t really understand my profile. Rajdeep Chimni had a stellar track record and he also seemed to understand my profile and recognise my strengths better than any other consultant that I spoke with. I was working as a Strategy Consultant with Deloitte throughout the application process so I was overworked and never had enough time. Rajdeep was always available; after hours and on weekends as well, which was vital because those were the only opportunities I had to work on my applications. We took a holistic approach to my applications and Rajdeep helped me play up ...

I reached out to Rajdeep after talking to a college senior who worked with admissions gateway and gained admission to Wharton - My dream school. During the initial profile evaluation call, Rajdeep gave me a clear picture of the strengths and weaknesses in my profile including what I needed to focus on in my applications and gaps that I need to be cognizant of. Rajdeep's style of coaching is honest and practical. One example that stands out is the Resume and Goals discussions where Rajdeep clearly breaks down the manner in which goals should be envisaged and provides clarity on structuring resumes in order to build a cohesive narrative. This proves to be particularly helpful as a starting point in the application process. Similarly, the ...

As a reapplicant, I recognized that this attempt was likely my final opportunity to realize my MBA aspirations. Fortunately, I was introduced to Rajdeep, whose remarkable track record persuaded me to engage a counselor for this crucial application cycle. Rajdeep was able to bring a very different angle to my application to make it different from the previous submissions leveraging the international experience I had in the past. He suggested that I take some unconventional risks in my application in areas like recommender choice which ended up paying off. These were suggestions that others had even disagreed with as too risky, yet I trusted him, to great results. Earlier this year, when I decided to apply to business school, I faced a decision just like everyone else: choosing the right consultant. Knowing the significance of this choice, I reached out to friends in business schools and professionals from my dream schools on LinkedIn for recommendations. Almost unanimously, Rajdeep was touted as the best. It seemed like a no-brainer, so I contacted him. In the ensuing weeks, it became abundantly clear why Rajdeep is held in such high regard. For each school application, he broke down the essays into manageable, implementable frameworks, backed with practical examples. This approach demystified the whole application process. For each essay he pushed to be more nuanced, expressive or researched, creating a delta. Additionally, the mock Team-Based Discussions (TBDs) organized ...

I had a great experience working with Rajdeep. Hailing from a crowded pool of applicants (male healthcare) for my target schools, I was worried about differentiating myself from others. Rajdeep helped me focus on bringing out my best stories and making them shine. Few highlights I would call out include: The kick-off sessions for every section – resume, goals, each school’s essays, interviews provided invaluable frameworks for addressing each element. After each session, I felt like I understood what a good essay / resume would look like and common pitfalls to avoid. Alongside, I think the focus on thinking about my work and experiences with a big-picture, strategic lens, was critical to maximizing the impact of my storytelling and avoiding getting too caught up in technical ...

Rajdeep respected my school choices no matter how outlandish it sounded initially. I first came across Rajdeep’s success stories and unique process through Poets and Quants, but experiencing it first hand was totally different. Rajdeep has a very streamlined approach. The interactions regarding Goals and Resume were structured and broken down to provide utmost clarity. Coming from a technical background, I was habituated to use technical jargons, but after my sessions with Rajdeep I understood how to depict the strategic impact of my work rather than focus on the technical aspects. I had a really good experience working with Rajdeep. The structured approach to the steps of ideating on goals, resume, essays step-by-step was helpful in a process that can get overwhelming. Rajdeep’s approach of breaking down every aspect of the application process into easy steps helped us to gradually build up on pieces of the application. Discussions explaining how to outline our goals and think about life stories for the essays were useful starting points. His efforts in taking out additional time to review ‘final’ versions of my essays and suggest further minute changes were very helpful. During my first call with Rajdeep, what stood out were his optimism, practical approach, straightforwardness, and utmost investment in my application process. Rajdeep’s structured and efficient approach, direct feedback, and resources helped me craft my resume and essays with fewer revisions. During our brainstorming sessions, he helped me string together different aspects of my personal and professional journey into impactful storylines, which were later used as building blocks for the essays of each school. Admissions Gateway was a slam dunk choice because of their reputation, especially with helping people get into the top-5 business schools. The starting point in my GD prep was really low as everyone in the group was all over the place but the feedback was incredibly detailed and tailored on what and how we could have improved. By the third GD prep session with Rajdeep, everyone in the group was well prepared and he gave us feedback on how we could maximize our time among a group of six people who were all well prepared, as well as making our inputs more collaborative. All of this ...

If you are applying to a top 5 MBA program, Rajdeep is the person you should turn to. He possesses an extensive understanding of the admissions process and can guide you through it seamlessly. Rajdeep helped me prepare for my HBS interview and I found his knowledge of the flow and format of the interview, what the admissions committee is seeking, and how to craft answers that are both insightful and concise to be remarkably comprehensive and clear. He outlined the approaches of different Harvard interviewers and the method to prepare for the interview. We then did a video recorded mock interview with feedback. Furthermore, I was impressed by the customized, prompt, and well-organized support he provided me. Overall, I found him approachable and always ...

During my consultant research across forums like Poets&Quants, GMATclub, etc., and by talking to others who had been through the admissions process last year, Rajdeep and Admissions Gateway came highly recommended. Finally, a referral by a friend at HBS who worked with him sealed my decision as I believed that Rajdeep would be able to help me put forth my best version. I wasn't very clear on the process steps and what would be required to apply. Rajdeep was extremely helpful in laying out the considerations and implications, along with helping me effectively shape my entire application. o Approach: Super helpful in providing clarity and implications of the choice of schools to apply to, decision tailored to my profile and goals. o Resume: Helped structure my resume ...

I know a lot of people who worked with Rajdeep so I was confident when I approached him to help me get into my dream school, HBS. Since I knew I was working with the best consultant, a lot of my anxiety was taken away and I was confident that every part of my application was the best I could do with my profile. The best part of working with Rajdeep is that he knows what works for each school. This saved me a lot of energy because he helped me decide which of my stories would work for each school I was applying to. I took Rajdeep’s help for 4 M7 Schools and Resume Creation. I found that Rajdeep has perfected the application strategy for all schools and his advice gave me a clear path on how to shape my essays. After every session I perfectly knew how I had to approach my essays, what kind of stories I could write, what all attributes I wanted to display in those stories and how I should structure my essays. It gave me a lot of control of my own application and that really helped me pull out the best possible content out of my past, tailored to each school. Multiple MBA applicants recommended Rajdeep as the consultant of choice. The word of mouth about Rajdeep’s success rate at the top-5 schools was exceptional, from people who worked with him, as well as people who didn’t work with him but had a positive opinion about his process. I wanted a consultant who had a precise vision of what a good application should look like and thus reduce my workload in trying to understand each school’s style and preference. People assured me that I would get that by working with Rajdeep and in hindsight that was correct! Working with Rajdeep, one can be assured of his unique insight required to create an exceptional application for each school. I was impressed by his ability to help me coherently ...

I was introduced to Rajdeep Chimni by colleagues who had secured M7 admits. On the first call, I knew that working with Rajdeep would give me the greatest odds of success in this competitive admissions cycle. I was worried that I started the process late (I reached out to Rajdeep in June for R1), but Rajdeep motivated me to start asap and believe in the strength of my application. He was the only consultant who told me to go bold and try Wharton in R1 itself – that gave me a significant confidence boost. We started by working on my resume and goals statement. Rajdeep helped me understand the nitty-gritty of structuring and framing key pillars of my work experience and different levels of impact ...

Rajdeep’s unique ability to connect with my background and offer nuanced insights into how to think through my story as well as life goals were commendable. Rajdeep not only ensured that my essays shine at the surface but also went one level deeper pushing me to think & identify my own blind spots logically. When it came to interviews, I remember how proactively Rajdeep helped me think through the various aspects of interview storytelling. He was also super helpful in leveraging his own network of B-school students to help me engage with alumni of various schools to prepare for interviews better. Lastly, Rajdeep was that constant source of encouragement & ...

He was very patient and worked through numerous drafts with me till we hit the right output. Working with Rajdeep is a no-brainer. He’s the best admissions consultant out there who is approachable, dependable and results-oriented. From the first discussion, his value-add to the process was crystal clear. Firstly, Rajdeep offers a customized and comprehensive strategy that helps you manage every step of the process – from school selection, overall pitch, resume writing, interview prep, etc. He sets clear deadlines which is helpful in managing the long process. Secondly, Rajdpeep is a thought-partner throughout the process. He pushes you to go beyond the surface and connect the dots of your personal, professional, academic experiences into a coherent narrative. Rajdeep also doesn’t believe in “counting drafts” – he’ll keep working with you on an essay till it captures your narrative – even if that’s 5+ ...

Working with Rajdeep was a great experience! He imbibed a certain way of thinking critically to bring out the best in your profile which not only helped in the MBA application process but is something I’ll be using for years to come when I’m writing cover letters and resumes. He started by critiquing my essays from last year, helping me realize critical gaps and then working with me on potentially addressing those gaps. With the gaps identified, when we got to work, his approach for each aspect of the application was phenomenal. Be it ensuring that each word on your resume had strategic significance (instead of sounding operational “I did this, I did that…etc.) to pushing me to think about what my goal in life is ...

Many colleagues working in development consulting had worked with Rajdeep and they referred me to him. The biggest takeaway for me from the process was learning the art of communicating and writing good essays. Rajdeep had a very high bar of quality for essays and pushed me hard to persevere till I met that bar. He is straightforward and will keep making you iterate even after multiple iterations if the essay is still sub-optimal. Looking back, he pushed me to dig deep, put in the extra efforts and write essays which truly made a difference in my application process. Being a consultant myself, I understand the fine line between supporting the client and making him dependent on you, and Rajdeep, with his soft and hard touches, really ...

When I look back to my R1 applications and essays – the difference is stark! What was most amazing was that I approached Rajdeep late, and only had over a month to complete four applications. He helped me anchor the process, focus on what’s essential, and submit high-quality apps, including a completely revamped resume, goals, and essays. Rajdeep’s strategic approach, his clear and direct feedback, and his constant encouragement to dig deep and highlight the values behind my decisions were instrumental in helping me get into my dream school—HBS! As compared to other consultants that I spoke to, Rajdeep seemed a lot more knowledgeable and had a refreshing clear, and upfront approach. I had a great experience working with Rajdeep. I would wholeheartedly and 100% recommend him to anyone hoping to get into their dream schools. From the get-go, I could tell that Rajdeep was very knowledgeable about the schools I was applying to. Rajdeep was honest and upfront during the school selection and guided me to include a selection of schools in the M7. He kept track of the timeline and was always available. However, the one thing that helped me most was the structure that Rajdeep provided – right from resume building to goals and essay writing. The resume approach was robust, it might feel like standardized inputs in the beginning yet the process brings out the best in one's work eventually. The goal's thinking was realistic and logic-driven. While Rajdeep would never settle for a goal/story that does not make sense, you'd have to push yourself to bring out your best stories. We discussed stories and essay content and Rajdeep helped structure, weave the pieces into a theme, and most importantly pushed me to stick to timelines. • Helped Me Understand Myself Much Better - Kellogg & LBS Admits
    4 years ago
I found Rajdeep listed here on Poets & Quants, on the best Admissions consultant list. I called a few people on the list, and I appreciated Rajdeep’s approach the most. Everyone else wanted to write my essays for what the school was looking for, whereas Rajdeep talked about wanting to make me look my best as is – and tailoring the way that I spoke of myself. I have applied to business school before. It was not a very serious endeavor – I look back on that application and cringe. This time I was serious about applying to top schools, and I knew I’d need help crafting my story and articulating my experiences in a way that works for admissions committees (and in a way that ...

I decided to work with Rajdeep because he had extensive experience of working with candidates from the FMCG sector. I was working in a remote region so it was important to have a counselor who was approachable, flexible, and whom I could reach out to without hesitation. Past candidates had testified about Rajdeep’s commitment to perfect your application and how hours spent was never a concern. The resume was the first step and it was a step in which I built the most confidence. With the STAR format and the approach of taking a step back and thinking like your “boss’s boss”, I defined my role and accomplishments for every milestone. However, my resume did not just cover my key accomplishments but clearly outlined my professional ...

I was clear I wanted to work with Rajdeep based on the experience of close friends at Wharton and HBS. Two reasons stood out: i. Sharp focus on content and depth of story a. Based on conversations with folks who had worked with Rajdeep, I liked Rajdeep’s focus on content and a very high bar on the depth of the examples in the story. ii. Rajdeep was seen as extremely approachable and open to any number of iterations. This was a key factor for me, because I had a very tough work schedule as a ...

I read about Rajdeep on PoetsandQuants and then talked to friends at HBS, who shared his track record. Throughout the process and across the different activities of resume, essay writing, application form, recommendation inputs, Rajdeep has immense clarity of thought and is not afraid of giving you blunt feedback. Resume – Rajdeep was able to bring out the best aspects of my profile into my resume, ensuring that I project the best version of my professional achievements. Thinking about my achievements from my boss’ boss’ point of view was eye-opening and gave me a new dimension to think through. Goals definition – Rajdeep pushes you to think through an (a) aspirational yet achievable goal (b) detailed version of this goal, so that it isn’t ‘in the air’. The ...

My friend at Wharton mentioned Rajdeep does not settle till he knows the best application has been put forth. I talked to many consultants and felt Rajdeep offered exactly what I needed – someone to push me and devote time to my applications. Applying for an MBA is mainly about 2 things – self-reflection and articulating your story. I was weak on both when I started out and Rajdeep helped me with these aspects. We spent considerable time digging into my motivations which helped me discover strengths that I would have never mentioned on my application otherwise. This helped define my goals which were important not just for my application, but also to have clear medium and short-term goals for my career. Rajdeep pushed me and helped me ...

A friend referred me to Rajdeep and I worked with Rajdeep for 4 schools. He also helped me shape my Booth application pro-bono. I benefited a lot from my experience and the following stood out for me throughout the engagement: · Single source of information and opinions about the application process, coming from years of experience. This allowed me to focus amidst a barrage of, at times, contradictory information available through secondary or primary research within my network. · My engagement with Rajdeep helped me in structuring the otherwise convoluted process. Rajdeep is very direct with his feedback but in retrospect, his working style kept me on the edge every time, to continue iterating to give it the best shot. Working on the resume, essays, and interviews, Rajdeep’s experience showed during our conversations and nuances he shared. Apart from picking the right experiences and shaping them, he helped me communicate in lesser words and helped cut down some large essays to the word limits without losing the essence. He is also dedicated. Everything went like clockwork, with planned calls and timelines for each school - done well in advance. I worked with a top US-based consultant last year and applied to 8 schools and gained admission to Stern from the waitlist. I reached out to Rajdeep to discuss a re-application. He was frank that Stern is a great school but went through all my applications thoroughly and pointed out all the deficiencies. He laid out a realistic plan for ways he could help in addressing those deficiencies. I felt like he was honest about what he could help with and built realistic expectations for me about my target schools. He told me the risks, told me the improvements and let me decide. I learned about Rajdeep from a trusted friend at Kellogg who had very positive things to say. What gave me comfort was Rajdeep’s track record to the top schools and strong experience working with consulting + investing profiles. The engagement started with resume making which pushed my thinking to be more top-down and strategic instead of micro and operational. Next, he helped me create a reasonable school target strategy (top-5) backed with strong reasoning and data. However the biggest value Rajdeep brought to my application was helping me lockdown on the right narrative by taking a holistic look at my profile and career aspirations. I also applied this approach to my current job as well. The resume process overall helps you think about your work from a more strategic perspective rather than a task-based one. I was re-applying and had applied to HBS, Columbia, Cornell, and UCLA before with the help of a consultant. Once we aligned on the schools, which took some time and back and forth, there was a big change in my resume in terms of how I presented my work. I appreciated the essay brainstorming, outlines and additional information provided by Rajdeep that helped me shape my essays. He also helped in connecting with students and my essays this year were much better researched. Rajdeep was available and helped me prepare for my mocks. Once I got my first admit, my interview process was made much more comfortable as ...

  • Dinged at Stern w/ Top US Consulting Firm, $150k Scholarship w/ Rajdeep A Year Later
    4 years ago
I first worked with a widely reviewed and ranked admissions consultant firm in US but after no admits that year, I was talking to some friends and advisors in introspection before my next move. One of my friends had worked with Rajdeep and his experience was poles apart from mine in terms of school choices and how he positioned himself to schools. I joined Admissions Gateway because of this robust approach I had seen work for my friend and because Rajdeep could point out major improvements in my application in our very first meeting. With Rajdeep, I got admits at Stern and Darden with full rides. Let me share the two things that he did that absolutely turned around my results. 1) Resume and Career Goals:  Where ...

Admissions Gateway helped me get into 3 of my top schools - Kellogg, Yale SOM, and UCLA, with a $70K scholarship at Kellogg and $60K scholarship at UCLA and I can confidently say none of my success would have been possible without them. AG and Rajdeep helped me with every little step of the MBA application process - a resume that shows my impact, a clear vision for my post-MBA goals, a thoroughly researched case of why the school and program were a great fit for me, and how to show my best self during my interviews. All of this, while making sure I remained 100% true to who I was and what I wanted from the MBA! Rajdeep really pushed me to reflect on my ...

Rajdeep is very effective in putting structure and discipline into the application process. I found it difficult to define the scope of the essays and was overwhelmed by the whole process. But Rajdeep helped me put a boundary around the ask, and broke down the essays into milestones which made the task much simpler. He is a stickler for quality and constantly pushed me beyond my comfort zone to dig deeper into my stories unless they reflected the necessary leadership qualities. I was able to think clearly through my career by the end of the process and had much more clarity on what I want to get out of my MBA. Successfully applying to a B-school was less about my experiences and more about the takeaways from those experiences that would help me demonstrate that I was MBA ready. As easy as it may sound, the process forced me to ask some probing questions and it became very important for me to be able to structure my answers within the prescribed word limits. Being from a highly competitive talent pool, I needed strategic help with the process of working with someone who had a proven track record with Indian applicants. I came to know about Rajdeep from some of my classmates who had worked with him and highly recommended him. You can just reach him a WhatsApp away. His iterative reviews and pointed feedback really pushed me to bring out the best in my essays. A friend at Wharton referred me to Rajdeep. Unlike what I had heard from friends about other consultants, Rajdeep didn’t try to convince me into applying to lower-ranked schools to improve his success rates. I stood my ground in applying to schools that I wanted to go to, and Rajdeep supported me in the process and we applied to HBS, GSB, Wharton, Sloan, Yale SOM and INSEAD. One thing I like was Rajdeep’s commitment. When I needed some extra support in getting my SOPs reviewed for a scholarship application, Rajdeep was willing to take a look at it and share some high-level feedback (even though it was outside the purview of the contract). The frameworks shared to think through different sections of the application ...

A friend at Harvard suggested connecting with Rajdeep and I worked with him on 5 M7 schools. I had an educational experience and gained a lot of insight on how to present my story in a way I couldn’t have done myself. Time zone differences meant that it was pretty late in India by the time I was free from work commitments in London. However, Rajdeep was very flexible and ensured that we left no stone unturned in putting up a strong application. I thought Rajdeep’s resume strategy of thinking from your management’s perspective in order to tease out the high-level impact of one’s professional achievements was genius. It’s something that I’ll deploy for years to come. I received great support on school-selection as well, especially ...

Making a choice for a consultant was a task and I took my time to research the market. I spoke to Admissions Gateway, Adam Marcus, Jennifer Bloom, MBA Exchange, Menlo Park, etc. Admissions Gateway stood out on 3 parameters – 1. Result orientation – AG is the only firm that transparently listed their past results and connected me to past clients. 2. Consultant (Rajdeep) – Though he may come across as too frank, Rajdeep on the first call was astute with his assessment and didn’t shy from pointing out weaknesses in the application. It didn’t seem like a sales pitch which a lot of other consultants had. 3. Costs – The costs were competitive in fact they seem ...

Rajdeep understood my work experience and helped me present it in the most impactful way by bringing clarity to my role and impact on each project. He further helped me decide the critical points to emphasize. This was followed by the definition of the goals. Here, Rajdeep helped me tune my thoughts to come up with a logical, consistent and practical story which would provide a solid foundation for a compelling story based on my work experience. For the essays, we identified my most impactful work experiences and customized each school’s essays to highlight different aspects. When I spoke to people about Rajdeep, they gave me excellent feedback about his very structured approach, individual attention and some credentials in helping students to top US B-schools. One of the biggest positives of working with Rajdeep was that he helped me address certain key challenges in my profile. I appreciated the gesture as I was not a client yet and because Rajdeep didn’t charge even though others in the market charge for waitlist counseling. So, I felt, his focus was not on making a quick buck when the applicant is somewhat vulnerable, but instead to guide first. After navigating the application cycle that year without success, I decided to work with Rajdeep as he had a great track record of helping candidates to M7 schools and especially helping re-applicants. 5 years ago
I was deciding between a few consultants (Accepted.com, Menlo, HBSguru and Admissions Gateway). After my call with Chimni, I knew right away that I wanted to work with him because of his candid, action-oriented and well-informed approach. He has a great track record and the support provided was more exhaustive. Chimni helped me break down the process into key parts with manageable timelines. Starting from the resume, within 1-2 iterations I could see the difference – Chimni deeply understood my work and helped me bring out the impact. He pushed my thinking on articulating my aspirations and conveying my story in a compelling way, through multiple discussions and connecting me to current students. For the interviews, he not only conducted mocks but also leveraged the Admissions ...

Two friends who worked with Chimni and gained admission to Harvard had given me great reviews about Admissions Gateway. My interaction with Chimni was calm and focussed from the outset. He gave me an idea of how the process works, what the schools look for etc. I was surprised he didn’t get hung up on my weak GPA, which gave me confidence that I had a reasonable shot at the top schools. The resume building process was thorough; moving the resume from appearing ‘operational’ to appearing ‘strategic’ was the big part. Chimni’s efforts were validated not just with the B-School results but also by the fact that I started getting a number of calls from companies wanting to hire me based on the updated resume I’d ...

He went beyond his role throughout the process and his confidence in my success was 100%. Resume: Chimni helped transform my resume using the STAR framework, highlighting the impact that I brought to the firm. It helped shine the light on my leadership aspects and long-term effect of my work, not only preparing me for the B-school process, but also for the recruiting. School Search: I had done research through interactions with students, alumni and online before connecting with Chimni, but had been unable to reach a concrete decision in terms of schools. • Columbia With $80,000: Great Re-Application Advice!
A friend from Kellogg strongly referred Chimni. I had applied to 5 schools last year without success. I am 30+ and already hold an MBA. Chimni discussed my re-application and clearly outlined areas of improvement. The resume building sessions were standout. Since I had applied to a few B Schools the previous year, I felt I had my resume in great shape before meeting Chimni. However, he not only explained its flaws, but he also helped me understand the basic building blocks of a great resume. It has been an extremely important lifelong learning for me. After finalizing my resume, I had a look at my previous year’s submitted version and could see a stark difference in the quality. This set the tone for my applications. ...

I joined Admissions Gateway as I heard positive reviews since the last 4 years. I had hour long discussions with perhaps 10+ international consultants before zeroing in on Admissions Gateway. Unlike most consultants who gave generic feedback on a timed clock, Chimni helped me understand my profile and story positioning even before I signed up. He was upfront about my chances at various schools, did not give false hope but rather some much needed confidence after I'd been demotivated by a few other's opinions on my prospects. We were both on the same page and this clarity before signing up is what stood out to me and I appreciated the most about Admissions Gateway. I realized that a top 5 college is no cakewalk and every aspect of the application would need to be compelling to get an admit. In my opinion, Chimni stands out in the three major areas: First, he has the qualification and the experience for the job. After getting a Kellogg admit and interacting with others from the school, I realized how well connected Chimni is with his alma mater. Two colleagues at HBS and college seniors recommended me to Rajdeep. Talking to Rajdeep felt like talking to a friendly, super-approachable advisor rather than talking to a strict professional consultant. It started with the resume building process. Aware that there was a time-crunch, Rajdeep set up multiple appointments in short intervals to help me progress through this stage. At the end of 10 days, I felt proud that “I” was the person being described in the resume. It was a complete overhaul. Comparing the “Before Rajdeep” and “After Rajdeep” CVs made me realize how beautifully one’s credentials can be narrated in a concise yet impactful manner without exaggerating whatsoever. While working with Chimni 3 things really stood out for me: Quality - His commitment to quality is brilliant. When an nth draft for Wharton essays seemed like a neat final draft to me, Rajdeep made me consistently improve it. As a result I ended up submitting, say an (n+5)th or (n+6)th draft. Same holds true for his attention to detail. • Helped me navigate a profile weakness, Duke MBA
    6 years ago
I worked with Chimni when I was applying to 3 top schools in the US. He spent time to understand my background and experiences, helped me craft the most effective narrative that brought out my unique qualities, and further polish them so that my application really stood out in front of the admission committees. He also helped to very effectively navigate a profile weakness that I had. Would strongly recommend working with him.

  • Super dedicated, helped me relax and execute in 45 days, Wharton, Kellogg and Tuck admit
    6 years ago
Rajdeep has helped many people from Bain to the top schools so a friend referred me. I started in round 2 so I was late and had 1.5 months to apply to all my schools. Rajdeep took a lot of the stress I had regarding Bschool apps away from my shoulders, and I appreciated his involvement and dedication. He knew his stuff, that is, what schools are looking for and his advice was valuable. I felt relaxed and I could think and focus knowing that I had the right help. I gained admission to Wharton, Tuck and Ross.

  • Structured, logical and encouraging – Kellogg and Yale admit
    6 years ago
Unlike other consultants who discouraged applying to most of the top b-schools, Chimni evaluated my dream school options and encouraged me to apply to a perfect mix of top and safe schools. Chimni applied a very well-structured logic-based approach at each stage of the application process. Firstly he understood my goals and choice of schools at a personal level. He encouraged me to apply to schools that seemed fit to my kind of profile. Secondly, his step by step approach to target one element of the application at a time helped me optimize my time, serving as an integral part of the strenuous application process. His inputs were very to-the-point, solution driven, and backed by strong logic, speaking highly of his experience in working with candidates from ...

My husband, a Kellogg alum, recommended Rajdeep. I had an initial conversation with Rajdeep and he gave me great feedback regarding my candidacy. Also, I was impressed by his strategy to present my professional and personal experiences for a strong application. I was a re-applicant and was faced with the challenge of changing my positioning in just 6 months. I think what Rajdeep does best is that he gives a structure – a clear time schedule to accomplish each part of the application so you only have to think about one school/deliverable at a time plus a format to think about each prompt. He pushes you to get as detailed as possible and his clarity of thought is brilliant which reflected in all my work ...

I applied to Harvard, Booth, Columbia, INSEAD and Stanford last year but did not make it. Upon speaking to friends, it was clear that everyone in my circle who was attending the top 10 schools worked with Rajdeep Chimni. As a re-applicant, I was unsure of applying again. I was recommended to speak to Chimni and assess my chances. Rajdeep was perceptive and quick in giving objective feedback on my resume and alignment of goals and skills, and was confident about my application. I applied to 4 schools in R1- Booth, Tuck, Ross and Yale. The thought process of school evaluation in alignment with goals was critical. One of the challenging parts was to re-think my career in terms of skills and translating that into ...

I have 3+ years of experience in Healthcare and was targeting the top b-schools. After talking to friends from college who were admitted to the top-5 and hearing positive reviews I decided to work with 2 top counselors Sandy for HBS and Chimni for the other schools. The toughest challenge was identifying the focal points of my personal and professional story. This is where I thought I got more directed inputs from Chimni. While Sandy focused on what's wrong Chimni focused on what to do about it. It was a great help also that all inputs were illustrative and i knew exactly what to do next. This is were the apporach of talking to chimni was much better for me than getting some comments on ...

Working with Chimni was a game-changer for my applications. He really helped me discover my strengths and streamline my stories to align with my post-mba goals. The best part was the extent he went to in order to bring out the best application, without counting the number of consultations or iterations. I got admits from 2 schools & 1 wait-list) and I am at my dream school, Kellogg. Once admitted I was surprised to see how many of Chimni's client's were admitted to Kellogg!

Post my 30-minute free consultation I knew I had found the right admissions counselor. I worked on improving my GMAT score and achieved a 40 point increase. We targeted schools across Round 1 and 2 and applied to a range in the top-15. We worked on presenting the collaborative aspects and strategic impact of my work and then found a way to align these with my goals. Chimni found ways to convey my story in a concise and impactful manner in the interview by guiding me through several mock interviews. He was very flexible in accommodating sudden changes in admissions strategy or work schedules. I received admissions from Yale, Tuck, Fuqua and Kellogg with $100K scholarship. The personal attention that I got was the best part of my experience with Chimni. Through the entire stressful application process, I felt like I had someone along with me in the journey, cheering me on. Whether it was sending me reminders when I was procrastinating on my essays or editing them on deadline days, I knew that there was someone as invested as I was in making sure the application that got submitted was of the best possible quality. While scouting for admissions consultants, it was refreshing to come across someone like Rajdeep, who gave very honest feedback about target schools, required GMAT scores and weaknesses in my profile. What convinced me to work with him were the excellent reviews from his clients, who are now in top business schools. In retrospect, it was the best decision I made as I got into two top schools (ranked 3rd and 4th). I greatly enjoyed working with Rajdeep and the real testimony to our working relationship is that now I consider him a friend and a mentor. I had an ambitious target of making it to a top-5 business school. I was looking for guidance from someone who had experience counseling students who attended these schools and would help me think through how to best represent myself while ensuring authenticity and making sure MY story would shine. A friend at Wharton informed me that Rajdeep was hands-on and had a clear understanding of the admissions process. I faced two challenges: 1. Lack of time: I began thinking about applying in July-Aug. Despite the crunched timelines and having to work on applications while balancing a demanding work schedule, Rajdeep helped me structure the workload and meet R1 deadlines. 2. I was a re-applicant targeting the top 10-12 b-schools. Rajdeep helped me do the following things differently this time. Resume: My earlier resume solely focused on consulting projects while applying for class of 2017. It looked more like a resume for a job than for a business school application. The feedback I got from Admissions Gateway counselors was to include more firm specific and practice specific stories instead of project level bullets. I incorporated this feedback by including themes on practice/ business and firm development and leadership roles in a STAR format. Most business school use VMock as a tool to evaluate resumes. It gives a score which considers things like formatting, strength of bullets, word usage, etc. I used my bschool application resume as a ...

I applied last year with no consultant and gained admission to Tuck. At the same time, I got a product manager role in Team I really wanted. I decided to change jobs and move to US for a product manager role instead of starting Bschool. The bug to do an MBA didn't end, however and this time I thought about whether getting a consultant would help frame my story better. And no regrets there! I then had a few calls with Rajdeep Chimni and discussed my application and background. He was surprised that I had given up Tuck but he focused on forming the right stories and figuring out the areas we could leverage. I saw how I could improve my applications and started my ...

  • Top quality framework, driven application preparation
    6 years ago
Having spent more than 10 years in the industry and having led large teams, I thought I had a very good idea of what a successful MBA application should contain. This notion lasted till I interacted with Rajdeep. He very quickly was able to explain what the gaps in my thought process were and how important it is to use consulting frameworks to make my application better. He also helped me with visualizing what my complete story should be and how to make sure its completely represented in my application. Using frameworks like STAR we were able to build a succinct and powerful resume, which helped me not just with my admission to ISB, but was useful for my post MBA job interviews too. Rajdeep drives you ...

I am a double MBA candidate and I was very sceptical regarding my candidacy in Top 10 schools. I was working in the field of retail and operations so did not have the typical big brand feeder companies on my resume. I am sharing some observations for each part of the process: · Resume building: Chimni was thorough in helping me build the resume. He gave me a structured approach to think about each bullet point in detail. He guided me to reflect on my work and make it look strategic as compared to operational. After this, all essays, interview answers and stories derived were clear to me. · School selection: Already holding an MBA, I was ...

  • Personal mentor, goes out of his way, top-10 admit
    6 years ago
I reapplied to business schools in 2017-18 after working with a well known US consultant the previous year. When I planned to reapply, I spoke to many consultants. I remember Chimni being the only one who asked me for my previous applications and discussed my essays and goals in detail. Chimni's genuineness and unselfishness were clearly reflected as he spared more than an hour with me, though we had not started working together. (Our association was still not finalized). I finalized to work with Chimni and Admissions Gateway in May 2017 and probably was one of his first client's for that year. During the course of my interaction with Chimni, I never felt like I was working with a consultant. He was more like my personal ...

  • Personal attention, re-applicant to Kellogg with ($$$)
A friend at Kellogg referred me to Chimni. I think he has the best balance of track record, value for money and personal commitment to an applicant. Few things that stood out for me: 1) Structure: The entire process starting from recommendation to essays is neatly structured that brings predictability to the process and helps plan things. Chimni helped me better research the school as well as leveraged his vast personal network to connect with relevant people, which makes the content rich. 2) Personal involvement: Chimni was personally involved till the end. This brings confidence in the applicant as well as continuity to the overall process. It also helps you in the applications of other schools I ...

  • Second MBA applicant, admitted to Wharton and Kellogg
    6 years ago
I started my campaign in R2 and applied to 4 schools with Rajdeep. A couple of things that stood out: 1. Honest Feedback – Rajdeep was very honest throughout the process. His candid feedback was very useful in crafting a compelling application. 2. Focus on introspection – Rajdeep’s inputs helped to make my resume more ‘achievements focused’. My most significant achievements turned out to be things I had not thought of mentioning. The resume building exercise was helpful in identifying what I should highlight in the essays. We then worked on my goals. With 5 years of experience, I was sure of what my goals are and why I needed to go to business school again. However, Rajdeep encouraged me to research extensively, define clearly what ...

  • Practical Structured Approach to Building Strong Resumes
    6 years ago
I worked with Rajdeep on my resume and as promised it went from a 2/10 resume to an 8/10. Rajdeep has an extremely structured approach to the resume building process and spends a good amount of time understanding your company's business, your role, and how has it evolved over your career. He then gives you steller examples from your kind of industry and profile explaining how the same projects can be depicted as a bad and good bullet point on your resume. There are a lot of approaches to building a resume but his concise format that you can fit into 1 page and his formula for distributing the different resume sections in proportion to your number of work experience was really helpful for me. ...

I would strongly recommend Chimni to any candidate. He gave me a very honest review even before I used his services. Since I was not sure if he could help, Chimni looked at my application and advised me to what degree I would need help. In my case, my resume was fine, but my essays needed work. In fact, I applied to some of the top-5 universities as advised. Over the application period, Chimni worked closely with me, guiding me through the essays. When I managed to get interviews at three out of five schools, Chimni gave me practice interviews as well. I am happy to say I got into my first choice; Chimni played a major role in my getting into one of the top universities ...

Last year, I applied to 8 schools in R2 and got a shock as I gained admission only to Kelley. I reached out to Rajdeep Chimni at Admissions Gateway as the reviews and statistics were almost unbelievable. Upon talking to him I felt comfortable giving up Kelly and re-applying. We focussed on the resume which changed from a completely operation centric one to a proper business resume. I had never thought about the business impact of my actions and I only started thinking about the big picture thanks to Chimni’s constant poking. Chimni has a very structured approach. For each step in the application, I always had lots of input and guidance beforehand. This ended up saving a lot of time and effort. It’s almost as if ...

  • Helped me identify my differentiators and express myself: Re-applicant Top-10 admit
    6 years ago
I had reached out to Rajdeep Chimni after a year of disappointing results. Rajdeep not only saw the strengths in my profile but also encouraged me to stretch beyond, helping me crack one of my dream schools. Two key areas in which Rajdeep was instrumental in creating a major difference: Identifying my differentiators: What impressed me from day 1 was Rajdeep’s ability to relate personally to me and help me open up. This was instrumental because this helped me map out my life’s journey and identify the impactful stories that differentiated me. Throughout this process, Rajdeep’s ability to push me constructively to think deeper and emote better made the experience of engaging with him rewarding. Creating strong communication tools: Once I had identified the experiences that I wanted to talk ...

Rajdeep has a great understanding of positioning family business backgrounds. He quickly understood my work experience, made me think strategically and bring out the both the breadth of experience and the impact I made. He is very accessible and really pushes you to do your best, following up on progress whenever I fell behind schedule. I attended LBS and still continue to discuss career moves with him.

I was a re-applicant and given that I had applied in Round 2 last year and didn’t get through most colleges I was inclined to switch jobs or take a break. I spoke to many consultants and none of them was able to convince me otherwise except for Rajdeep at Admissions Gateway. He had an extensive conversation alleviating my concerns for applying next year. During my application, he spent a lot of time refining my resume and building my essays with key leadership and teamwork experiences. What I appreciated a lot was that Rajdeep pushed me on the essay quality and didn’t let me give up. He also helped a lot on my interview prep, sharing best practices and taking multiple interviews, eventually helping me secure admission ...

Rajdeep and I had 2-3 calls of 30-60mins each to elaborate the working model and what the typical MBA application demands. It was amazing that he was willing to invest even though I was not even a paying client. Rajdeep had a great understanding of my aspirations and ability to quantify that I can move on a path of improvement in terms of my application process. I was a younger candidate and unsure of where I stood in the process. While I was not promised a sure-shot Stanford admit, I was not discouraged from applying to schools of my choice, all the same taking a realistic approach towards casting a wider net. This later on ended up being a huge confidence boost and helped build a ...

I found the initial 30-min conversation with Rajdeep Chimni a lot more insightful than the conversations that I had with other top international consultants. He clearly identified my strengths and weaknesses, and gave me very specific advice on how to approach the application process. I had decided quite late in the application cycle to go for an MBA. Having made my decision in September, I had already missed the round 1 deadlines. Chimni’s structured approach to the application process put me at ease and allowed me to focus on what’s important. With his help, I broke down each complicated essay question into 4-5 components and put forth my goals and uniqueness into it. Moreover, Chimni went above and beyond by constantly challenging me to do better ...

To be frank I was hesitant if an admissions consultant would be a great help as I wanted personalized attention. But early in the process with Chimni it was clear that he had my best interest at heart! The process was extremely organized and flexible which made it so comfortable to work on my applications despite my frequent 12 hour workdays. I got a much better understanding of my work, goals and professional development areas. There was always a focus on planning all scenarios and constantly learning and improving. Overall, it was supremely satisfactory and a journey of deep introspection and self-discovery. My 3 admits stand proof to that.

I first heard of Rajdeep from friends and my opinion post my conversation with Rajdeep was that he was very direct and knew the weaknesses in my profile. It is important for consultants to be forthright and practical about what your strengths and weaknesses are. My experience of working with the team was amazing and I would like to highlight a few things that stood out. Firstly, the flexibility with which the entire application process was rolled out. There were times when I was working on my resume and essays at 1:30 am with Rajdeep. It really helps to have access to your consultant when you have a hectic day long work schedule. Other than that Rajdeep pushes you to think hard about the entire application, ...

I am a consultant with 3 years experience post completing my Bachelors in Economics. I was apprehensive about my lack of client facing experience, and the way my role would be perceived by B schools. I also had decisions to make regarding switching to a different role, choosing an externship vs. transfer, and on building my application to target a Top 10 school. Pre-application: When I first spoke to Chimni on the phone, I was impressed by his in depth-knowledge of my company (top consulting firm) and my specific role! He asked pointed questions about my daily operations, how my practice has grown and helped steer me to thinking about my story. He also met me at his office over the weekend, and helped me chart ...

I was re-applying as I had applied to Stanford, MIT and Berkeley and was rejected before the interview round last year. I heard about Chimni through friends and worked with him as he motivated me to re-apply to the M7. The best part of my experience was that my work was complex and technical (Oil & Gas) and Chimni helped me change my perspective of my work experience, putting it in a business context. Another highlight of my experience with Rajdeep was the amount of time he spent on my application. I started working with him from June, which gave me enough time to work thoroughly on my resume, goals and stories. It took me a very long time to start thinking and writing essays/resume ...

Rajdeep has been incredibly supportive during my entire admissions journey, even during the time when I was not his client. In my first interaction with Rajdeep, about 4 months before the R1 deadline, he did a detailed evaluation of my profile and provided insightful opinion on the things that I could do in the coming months. I was looking for a change of job at that point in time, which he in his amazing convincing manner, advised against. Even though I went ahead and followed his advice, I didn't sign up to work with him initially. Instead, I was flattered by the sales skills of another US based group and signed up with them. By the time I realised that the application process with ...

I have a consulting and healthcare background and was looking to target the top-5 schools. Rajdeep had a great track record for the top-5 b-schools and I felt he understood my story and would pay individual attention. Rajdeep played a pivotal role in guiding me through each stage of the process and helped me look deeper into my own life experiences and future aspirations. This helped me decide what aspects I most wanted to share in the limited space I had in essays. Rajdeep has a deep understanding of the admissions criteria at each school and he helped me mould my story positioning it appropriately for each school. He also connected me with alums/current students at the Top-5 which immensely helped in school-specific queries I had. He then ...

I loved working with Chimni. Three things stood out for me during the entire process. Firstly, the methodological approach in which Chimni broke down the essay question into smaller parts. This helped in answering the questions in a structured manner. Secondly, the feedback-driven mechanism during the interview preparation stage. Mock interviews were taken in which detailed feedback was given regarding the points which should be highlighted. Thirdly, with their experience comes the expertise they have in developing the story, especially the journey as to where you came from and where you want to go. As much as it required self-reflection, guidance was needed for story-boarding and that’s where Chimni helped me the most. Now I will delve into the stages in the application process: 1. Aiming to get into a top-5 b-school I worked with Rajdeep given his exceptional track record in helping people into a top-5 school. While I thought my CV was in a very good shape to begin with the level of detail and effort that went into rebuilding the CV was commendable. It was great to see the structure come up in the CV (important points first, STAR format – easier said than done), and the CV contents being used as a baseline to create convincing essays. I am an engineer and not a big fan of writing, so it definitely was a big challenge to begin thinking about writing essays. Rajdeep has in-depth knowledge of MBA admissions and is willing to share insight even when one is not a client. He gave me an honest review while evaluating the profile and did not attempt to sell me. Once I joined, the whole process was different from the last time I applied. The level of thinking was the same as in a Chess game! Everything from how to position my work experience, to what examples to write about, to how to communicate information in an interview was discussed. This was more a ‘story shaping’ process that made me introspect on what I had done and what I wanted to do. Apart from the level on insight Rajdeep was always a phone call away and his work rate is ...
