Consultant Bio

I am an immigrant from Zimbabwe who is a University of Chicago undergrad and Michigan Ross MBA graduate. A scientist by training who passed through engineering and studied business and policy, I now work in the Netherlands chasing my dreams in the healthcare industry of impacting how people access and experience healthcare products and services globally. My road to America, through my education and to my career has been a challenging and rewarding one. I am passionate about sharing my experiences and guiding others through their journies, especially those from my circumstances. I have had to continuously tell my story and position myself optimally, first for my pursuit of higher education and now to chase my dreams across different countries, and these experiences shape my ability to help others do the same, wherever they are going. I am especially skilled at telling the stories of underrepresented minorities, international students, and candidates from non-traditional professional backgrounds. With my company Zambuko, you have a partner who will shepherd you through the application process and help you to bridge your goals and potential.

My partner and I have a combined 10+ years of experience in MBA and application coaching and our clients have landed in schools such as Havard, Wharton, Michigan Ross, and Haas among others.

  • Nancy Knows Her Stuff!
Nancy provided valuable guidance during my application process for Harvard Business School and Harvard Kennedy School. She has extensive experience with international applicants and underrepresented minorities and it shows. She helped me fine-tune my dual-degree "story" and ensured that I used every part of my applications to tell my story in a powerful and coherent way. She went further by helping me think through financing and effective networking during my joint degree program.

  • Nancy is an Amazing Mentor!
While preparing for my graduate school applications. I reached out to Nancy through Facebook. Nancy became my mentor and was extremely supportive throughout my application process. She gave me rigorous and highly beneficial feedback on my personal statements. What I valued the most and found to be truly unique about her mentorship, was that she allowed me to tell my own story; she would actively listen to me tell my story in my own words while she asked deep questions that helped me dig further into my own experiences, tell my story and put my best foot forward. I am pleased to say that I got acceptances from all the institutions I applied to! Even beyond the application process, Nancy checks in on ...

  • Nancy is a Phenomenal Consultant
Applying to top MBA programs in the US was a daunting task for me. I didn’t know where to begin, which schools to consider and how to craft my personal stories to make me a competitive candidate. Nancy was phenomenal in helping me navigate the entire MBA application process. Her reviews and insights for my elevator pitch, essays, and professional stories were very constructive and detailed, and she provided specific feedback at every point in time on how to make my profile better. She has a keen eye for culture fit and she was able to immediately recommend that Ross School of Business would be a good fit for me, and indeed it has been.
