As a tenure-track assistant professor in the Department of Romance Studies at UNC-Chapel Hill, Dr. Barr played an active role in the admissions process for various graduate programs. 

Transitioning into administrative roles, Dr. Barr also played a key role as the assistant director of MBA admissions at Kenan-Flagler Business School, where he gained invaluable insights into the intricate processes of graduate business education and admissions strategies.
