P&Q Consultant Reviews

  • Tyler Is A Master Craftsman
Coach, consultant, mentor, advisor... He may be called many things, but above all Tyler is a craftsman that knows his craft. After attempting (and failing) to get into business school the previous year, I decided to invest in my future and seek professional advice on my MBA applications. I found Tyler through the P&Qs website and was struck by how personable he was during our first conversation. I instantly connected with him and felt like I was just catching up with an old friend. He immediately saw my potential (unlike some other consultants I had reached out to) and shared my enthusiasm for taking on the H/S/W challenge. During the first couple weeks working together, I used Tyler's templates to share my life story ...

  • The Best MBA Admissions Consultant & So Much More
    2 months ago
Tyler supported me through every step of the business school application process with a level of planning, tools, responsiveness, and empathy that far exceeded my expectations. From our first meeting, he helped me transform my non-traditional path to business school into a narrative that ultimately led me to be accepted to my dream school, HBS. Tyler breaks down the lengthy, sometimes overwhelming application process into manageable steps and is your unwavering guide, coach, supporter, and editor through everyone, whether it's updating your resume, organizing your story to write impactful essays, challenging you to think critically about your application strategy and career goals, writing those critical essays, preparing guidance documents for your references, or pushing you to be your very best for your interviews. When it came ...

  • Thoughtful, Patient, Responsive, & Flexible – The Perfect Consultant
    3 months ago
Tyler was an amazing resource and partner throughout the entire MBA application process. I got a late start on round 1 applications with only 4 or 5 weeks to complete apps. Given the stress I was under, I decided to have an introductory conversation with Tyler on the advice of a friend (who actually didn't get into their top school, but still couldn't sing Tyler's praises enough). I spoke with a handful of consultants on introductory calls, most of whom either were quick to call out holes in my resume, unresponsive, entitled, or seemingly uninterested in the job they were asking ~$10k+ to do. Others were salesy and tried to emphasize how quickly I needed to sign / wire money to reserve a ...

  • Personal One-On-One Experience
I did extensive research on admissions consultants and wanted to hire a company that would pair me with only one consultant throughout my application process. I hired Tyler because we had a conversation prior to any commitment. Tyler came prepared to the meeting having analyzed my resume and gave a candid and thoughtful analysis of what his approach would be (and provided references of his past clients). My experience with Tyler was exceptional, not only because I got into my top choice (Columbia Business School), but because Tyler took a methodical approach by first 1) understanding my professional history and 2) the different career paths I was considering. Only then did we start to craft my story, and then finally considered essays. I also only ...

  • If You're Serious About B-School, You MUST Work With Tyler
    1 year ago
I want to start by saying that I would not have gotten into business school without Tyler’s help. I was serious about going back to school, but having gone to a non-target undergrad and with mid-tier work experience, I had no idea where I would land. I’ll now be graduating with an MBA from Wharton next year because of Tyler. Tyler is undisputedly the best in the business (I did a lot of research, and spoke to a number of consultants before deciding to work with Tyler), and has a unique approach of working with candidates -- rather than trying to fit your experience into a specific mold, Tyler takes the time to understand your “personal story” (in an impressive amount of detail), and then ...

  • More Than A Consultant - A Life Coach
    1 year ago
Like many, I sought an admissions consultant to even the playing field, but what I found in Tyler was way more - he was a life coach that took me on a journey of self-discovery. Tyler won't write an essay for you, but he will ask you for very detailed questions about your background, your dreams, and your motivations. With me, he keeps digging relentlessly until together we discovered a strong, honest narrative for what I am seeking in a career where an MBA program is a piece of the puzzle. The narratives and motivations he helped me discover still guide me like a compass years after I've graduated. I also learned skills to self evaluate and self examine each time I find myself at ...

  • Absolutely Worth It!
Tyler is not just an MBA coach - he is a life coach who is more than worth his fee. (Long story short: applied to a few top schools with only four months of prep and accepted into an H/S/W with scholarship money). Last May, I suddenly decided I wanted to apply Round 1 and interviewed several big names MBA consulting firms and coaches. I heard about Tyler through a friend and set up a call. What immediately stood out to me was Tyler’s methodical, diligent approach. Other coaches didn’t have a structured plan for attacking the application process, and I wanted someone who had experience and success working with clients applying to top schools. After signing with Tyler, I still felt overwhelmed. The MBA application ...

  • Tyler Could Be The Very Best In The Business
    1 year ago
My experience leaves me no doubt about the importance of hiring excellent consultants, and I would not hesitate to recommend Tyler to anyone applying to the best schools. The fees may be high, but not when compared to the cost (tuition + opportunity cost) of an MBA, and it’s worth paying up for the very best. I was a reapplicant to business school this year. The first time I applied I worked with a consultant at Fortuna Admissions. Result: Harvard rejected me after placing me on the waitlist, and Stanford did not even interview me. Half a dozen consultants whom I later hired to review my unsuccessful applications all saw the same obvious holes and common pitfalls, which my Fortuna consultant missed. I decided to reapply ...
