Hi Mr. 10 Years in Finance, Melisa here from Stratus Admissions. I really like an on-line MBA for you – and youāve obviously chosen a top program in UNC. Itās nice that you were able to have the GMAT waived and so donāt have to worry about that piece of the puzzle. I think your extensive financial experience will help overcome your lower GPA. Generally with a lower GPA, I would think a higher GMAT could overcome the GPA. But your work experience can help you get there. With an on-line program, as with part time or EMBAs, you will be employed while taking classes, so you wonāt be expected to have a large change anticipated post-MBA. As far as MBB, I have seen far …
As far as MBB, I have seen far fewer cases of people transitioning into mid level roles – and those that I know have done so as an industry expert. This shouldnāt stop you from applying to the program, I just want to encourage you to do some research to understand the feasibility of MBB for you. It sounds like youāve had great success as a wealth advisor – so thinking about how your success in this role sets you up for a role as a consultant will be an important step. Are there other roles that you might transition to if MBB doesn’t work out?I wish you the best of luck in your MBA plans!
GPA is a potential huge issue, but its the online program so not sure how they weigh that
