Hi Mr. 1st Generation, Melisa here from Stratus Admissions. So I would definitely say your profile looks different than most of the Indian engineers that I have worked with – and I think that is a huge plus for you. What strikes me is the global nature of your involvement and the size of the team you are leading at your NGO. I like that you have what looks like both for-profit and not for profit experience. All of these will make for a unique story which is a must to stand out at GSB. Where Iād encourage you to go a bit deeper is your goals. Why do you see impacting investment and venture capital as the right way to further social causes? What big social problems have you seen and want to solve with social investing? Also, with your transition to more of a finance based role, be sure to highlight what skills you have built that you can leverage into your new role. There is a lot in your profile schools will be attracted to – and you bring a unique perspective to the classroom. Spend time getting know these schools – talk with students, alumni to really show you know exactly what you will take advantage of while you are there. Keep in mind that Stanfords acceptance rate is 7%, so I think your chances are probably double the average at each of the schools. Good luck through the process! Reach out if I can answer any questions.
