There is SO much to love about your applicant profile and as a former MIT Sloan adcom I would be fighting for you in the admissions process. You have stellar academic history and the school brand recognition to support you, you are working at a FAANG company (where many of your would-be classmates would want to be) on a high-profile product, your multiple promotions are clear evidence of career progression, and your community and extracurricular involvement prove you would contribute a great deal to your school community. I also really like the amount of thought and definition that has gone into your career goal; it blends your professional and personal interests and aligns nicely with your target schools’ missions around improving and impacting the world. I agree that your GMAT score could be that obstacle in your way, especially given you fall into an oversaturated applicant pool with above average scores and you are targeting the most competitive MBA program in terms of applications per seat. However, I have seen candidates like you at Sloan in the past who received the coveted admit decision because their professional success was so off-the-charts impressive. Well, you went to a prestigious undergraduate institution, and you have a job that many MBA grads would love to have. The fact that you have also earned two promotions in three years tells us you have been successful at work. And you have strong extras. So the question is, does all this overcome your lower than average (for Stanford) GPA and GMAT score (especially for an Asian or Indian who tend to have higher scores to begin with). I think your application should earn you an interview but I am less certain it will earn you an admit from a school with an MBA program that is the most selective in the world.
