Hi Mr. Avocado Farmer, AgTech is certainly a niche and growing area that is very interesting to business schools. This is Debbie Choy from mbaMission and GSB alum. I think your personal background makes your interest in AgTech very natural and authentic. As for your GPA, I think your strong GMAT score does offset that. Still, consider explaining the circumstances that affected your GPA in your optional essay. Additionally, I don’t see a lot of current extracurriculars. While investment banking hours can make this hard, AdCom is also looking for community engagement and leadership. If you are able to strategically get involved with any local organizations that interest you, I think that could help strengthen your profile. As well, I would also encourage you to consider more schools apart from Haas. Why not Wharton or even Stanford or HBS? While these are very competitive programs, I think these schools would find your profile attractive. If you would like to discuss your profile in more detail, feel free to schedule a 1:1 consultation with us. Wishing you the best in your MBA journey!
