Hi Mr. Corporate Finance, Julie-Anne Heafey here with mbaMission. I can see that you are a person of few words, which makes me wonder about how you’ll treat the “What More…” open-ended no-word-limit essay for HBS…You seem quite proud of your CFA, which is absolutely a solid accomplishment, and my guess is that you have some good stories around your migration, but I don’t see a ton of info around your leadership or impact here (what is a CFA project lead exactly?). HBS is more than a stats game, and an on-target-with-the-average GMAT coming from an overrepresented category is generally not going to be enough to push you to an acceptance. My advice is to bring out your best stories of impact, and show them your unique viewpoints that would enrich the classroom experience…and broaden your list to include multiple safer options into the top 15 or 20, ideally including names where your GMAT is 30-40 points above the average. Really look at which programs are a fit for your goals and demonstrate that knowledge in the essays for those programs. Wishing you the best of luck!
