In college, hand-selected by the dean of the Honors College to work as a research assistant to the school’s president. Since beginning my career in education, I have been responsible for teaching advanced level English classes. Additionally, I have progressed from teaching intermediate level classes to sophomores to juniors.

Post MBA Goal:

While my experience teaching has been fulfilling, I feel that I’ve progressed as much as I can in the field, and am hoping an MBA will help me challenge myself and continue to grow professionally. Post-MBA, I am considering pursuing a career in either educational consulting or a field in which I can leverage my experience and interest in the arts.

  • Stratus Admissions Counseling Odds Assessment: 30%

    Hi, it’s Jennifer Jackson from Stratus Admissions. I think it’s a good idea to try a GMAT retake but a 680 isn’t super far off for Emory. You have a solid GPA but at a “humble” college so it certainly doesn’t hurt to try to score higher since that’s an area you can still control (unlike GPA). I think your experience in teaching will be a very good differentiator for you, as that’s not a common background for MBA applicants. Going into educational consulting is a good ST goal, but you’ll want to be very clear about WHY you want to do that.
