  • mbaMission Odds Assessment: 5%

    Hi Mr. Finance Man,
This is Debbie Choy, GSB alum and Senior Consultant at mbaMission. I think you have a robust background – from leading key projects at a Big 4 firm to passing all credentialing examinations. The Admissions Committee (AdCom) is looking for examples of demonstrated leadership and professional progress – so be sure to include stories that can showcase your leadership style, as well as back this up with strong recommendation letters (which it sounds like you’ve already lined up). Schools are very interested in how you have progressed professional so if you don’t have titles to show that you will have to write a good description of how your roles have …

Hi, it's Jennifer Jackson from Stratus Admissions. You have some solid experience and an unusual background being from Georgia! Your GPA is on the lower side but it is what it is and your GMAT is solid even if a bit lower than their average. I think the biggest concern I'd have is your post-MBA goal of private equity and then on to hedge fund management. This is a tough and very competitive area to get into especially for someone without any experience in that space previously. You'll need to be very clear how you'll change communities and change the world through this career path. WHY do you want to go this route? GSB gives you a lot of words in that first essay ...
