Candidate:

Mr. Fish

About Me:

I’ve been an avid fisherman since age 3. Growing up in Washington, DC, access to areas to fish was limited due to pollution and habitat degradation. I chose to major in environmental science so I could ensure others in my situation get the same opportunity to experience the outdoors for years to come.

  • mbaMission Odds Assessment: 75%

Hi Mr. Fish! This is Kate Richardson, Senior Admissions Consultant, weighing in on your profile. I really like your chances at UNC! They have a pretty healthy acceptance rate to begin with (about 50% according to P&Q) and your GRE is well above their 317 average. Mostly though, I really like the passion that you have for the outdoors and fishing, and how you want to meld that passion with your work. Your post-MBA goals seem well aligned with that passion and also with the opportunities that UNC can offer, as it has a strong marketing program. Good luck!

Hi Mr. Fish, This is Donna Bauman with Stratus Admissions and I admire your environmental interests as well as your passion for fishing! Itā€™s great to see your passion for the environment coming through in your work and life choices. Iā€™ve learned something from youā€”as in my many years of affiliation with UNC Kenan-Flagler in being an undergraduate student there and then working as a staff member in both MBA Admissions and the undergraduate program I never heard of a bass fishing club! So look at thatā€”we can all learn. There is an active Net Impact club at Kenan-Flagler and I think youā€™d also find some benefits from that. I think you could add an interesting perspective to the class and see you presenting well …
